>>41832362I always wanted to get into NASA and work there. Interstellar was a good movie. Sadly, I'm my mid 20s and I'm not any closer to get there.
>>41832367Same, anon. went to school for rocketry and decided to go into finance because it paid more. now in my mid 20s and realizing that its better to do something you love rather than playing a fiddle for corporations.
>>41832367Just state that you identify as a genderfluid agefluid android cosmopolitan from Venus and they'll let you in no prob
>>41832382The Martian came out a couple of years later and was there as well. I remember watching it while I was in high school. Now it's almost 10 years later. Where has time gone? I'm thinking about going back to college and get into engineering but college is so expensive right now and I'd rather not get into debt nor take a loan over it.
>>41832362She's still alive, r-right? R I G H T ???????
>>41832486No.
>>41832382Look at that, Anon prefers to stay comfortable in an office while ponies are working like horses to deliver you fast internet and defense things up there!
>>41832401Look for scholarships and go back if you want to. People forget that you can just do things to change your life.
>>41832486Yes.
Post nasa in random places
>>41833012I need to take her more places
Seafood, if you're reading this, I'm going to mate with you
>>41833012
>>41832367>i want to go into autistic STEM babby daycareno, stop leeching off of taxpayer money doing useless shit in the name of "science". It doesn't make the world a better place when you discover some planet 830 light years away and name it some retarded shit, or circlejerk over quantum physics and dark matter. If SpaceX is launching shit and NASA isn't, then that means NASA is full of retards. >d-durr you aren't smart enough because ackshually quantum physics are import-ack!!You aren't launching satellites in space, you aren't planning to terraform planets, you aren't doing any useful work, instead you dick around with telescopes all day and go gapeface when you find some uninhabited chunk of ice 32097 light years away.
>>41833062Who's seafood
>>41833136some of the worst b8 i have ever seen
>>41832367>>41832382>>41832401I can't and am not into space (heh), but I was born in third world country and I just always felt working in this kind of big things was reserved for people born in the right country, America mostly. I just accepted this as truth, never had a thought that this is something you could challenge even if you didn't start in the best place. I didn't even fucking know ESA existed before this cute poner was drawn by some anon, and if anything, my country's space org had more success at becoming a widely known meme in general consciousness than doing anything space that I'd know about.Nowadays when I accidentally look at people doing things with rockets, while my techfag job still makes me mostly happy and has a chance to see a pony once in a while, it does strike me that it's so insignificant in comparison, because I realize that some people somewhere else are so smart to try to travel out of this world. That's something so surreal, you could call it itself out of this world.I'll continue my current work, as that's my little corner of this world where I found a place for myself and a few potential spots to add ponies in, meanwhile I'll hope those space people will at some point take ponies with them too, to see those other worlds and spread joy and love. And I hope that you anons, who didn't forget your dreams to pony into space, will find comfort somewhere, whether in space or not. These are beautiful dreams that I could only wish I had.
>>41833484>I was born in third world countryLet me guess, Brazil, Southeast Region, right?
>>41833471disprove any of my points and I'll concede retard, protip is you won't.
>>41833595 (You)
I'm not sure if this is done before, but I've seen youtubers launch many things in space. Tom Scott did it once with garlic bread. Couldn't we just strap a plush and launch her in space? The photos/videos will be amazing
Blue Origin bros, it's almost time
>>41833471build an interstellar probe or at least do an Europea or whatever the fuck it's called mission
>>41833786Actually not a bad idea. We need to get a weather balloon of sorts and a camera. Ill look into it today.
>>41832367Honestly look up internships or even some companies that work with NASA like Rocket Lab or Blue Origin
>>41833786>>41834461So it would cost about $600 to send her to space. The only issue is that I live incredibly close to the everglades so she would probably come down in a swamp, gulf of mexico or atlantic (may take a bit of effort for recovery)Ill start to order parts when I get paid later this month. Expect a thread about sending NASA into space early next month.
Didn't someone do something with NASA for Mare Fair last year?
>>41834655The man himself did.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DLFoNeaP60
>>41834655Someone organized an event for a bunch of people wish I made it but my flight was day of
>>41834619Godspeed, anon
>>41834619>600$are you retarded, show the bill of materials right now.I could probably do it for a third of the price with enough model rocket motors.
>>41834655Quite a few of us did and I'll be hosting another meet to KSC pre-Mare Fair.>>41834619Wait until Mare Fair and I'll donate for a good hobby engine
i miss her brosand i wonder if she misses us too
>>41834968I'm sure she's watching us and is happy we love her
>>41834806$600 for a good baloon/ materials I'm assuming Also i imagine anon is trying to avoid blowing up the push since they mentioned recovery
>>41834806>Balloon (1000g) $40 >Helium (with tank rental) $120>Parachute (need about 15 ft/s for a 1lbs payload) $50>GPS Tracker (plus service) $150>GoPro $150 (used)>Misc $60-120Estimated Total: $370–390 w/ one test flight would come out to about $800 implying that nothing breaks during testing. Not to mention recovery costs and deploying inflatables if she lands in the ocean. I think it would be a fun project to do though.
>>41836356I should have mentioned that I already have some parts left over from uni in my storage unit which is why the math doesn't add up.
Coming back here after a long break, is there a pastebin of the threads or something?
>>41836827yes one exists but i lost it back in 2022 when my pony drive died
>>41832367>>41832382Selling your soul to the military industrial complex is always an option for an in. I get to test solid rocket motors every day. I want to hop over to the space side of things one day, but the path to the moon isn't always a straight shot. Harmony is overrated anyway.
>>41837244panties with timestamp
>>41837244Yeah I could go that route but I've already tried to go the Aerospace/ Defense route in IB and realized that it's not the same as NASA/ SpaceX. I would need to straight up change industries which i wouldn't have a problem with.
>>41834169Interstellar Probe my belovedEuropa Clipper launched last year, Anon
>>41832362who is this artist : 0
>>41838933She'll be home soon right guys?
>>41839800No.
>>41838498I can't believe we're gonna land on Europa after those inter dimensional aliens told us not to.
>>41839800An anon can dream
>>41840679Only flybys, the probe has no lander. For now we'll respect the dictum.
>>41832362Yes.
>>41841667Oh dang, I thought it had a small impactor on board. Well at least at the end of the mission when the probe is sent to collide with Ganymede, we might get some dope images of the impact taken by ESA's JUICE probe that should be in the neighborhood at the same time.
NASA bump
>>41841268I hope the anon that hosted that decides to do it again
>Two more commercial lunar landers on the way with several more well on their way, New Glenn about to finally launch, Starship Block 2 right afterSpacebros, we're eating good
>>41844015>New Glenn about to finally launch

>>41844375Trixie being wrong? What a surprise. Starship Block 2 up in a few hours now (still suborbital btw).
>New Glenn stage 1 and Starship both lost around burn cutoffEngine shutdownbros, what the fuck happened today?
>>41846625It's so over (temporarily)
>>41846625Well you see anon, when two space ponies compete with each other very much...

>>41846625My intern is european and I showed her the starship reentry footage this morning. Her only response was "wow that's so bad for the environment". I really think normalfags have no concept of how human progress works...
>>41850597Oh that frustrates me greatly
>>41850597I couldn't think of a worse response if I triedIt's almost impressive
>>41851345>>41851348I did say "some things are necessary for progress" and she frowned at me. It's a shame that she had a "mask off" moment so early into her internship.
>>41850597>wow that's so bad for the environmentNigga it's water vapor
>>41850597The environmental impact of the starship, considering the super heavy booster is reusable, has to be laughable compared to rockets of the past. Even then, there are things way worse for the environment than sending rockets to space, did you know 140 billion cubic meters of natural gas were flared in 2022? that is gas that could have been used to cook, warm houses, produce energy, or even to send more starships up, but instead is just wasted because there is no regulation and no corporate will to redirect the gas or to process it. Are we sure she's not just an Elon hater? because man, the most damaging part about rockets is their material sourcing and manufacturing, and spacex is already working on getting rid of those concerns.
