Ah this sounds cool but my waifu isn't a pony.
>>41840072They say with a Trixie flag
Sweet! I've missed this
>>41840072As long as your waifu is pony-related that's fine.
>>41840186She's not. But I'll still join to give someone else a waifu card.
>>41840010Not much of a joiner for board events but fuck it, I may just sign up for this
>>41840363Given that this is probably a round-robin format, I'm not sure it works that way. It would mean someone in the event isn't getting to write a letter.
>>41840363As nice of an offer as that is that is that isn't how this is supposed to work, I can't just slot you in somewhere without someone writing you a letter, that'd be unfair. I guess I could let random.org assign you to a lucky Anon to receive two cards?
>>41840432Wouldn't that spoil the illusion? Unless that anon is a filthy cheater who has two waifus, of course...
>>41840438Schizo waifu? AU version? Either way >>41840363 solved it by signing up with a waifu, we wouldn't know it's not the actual one if not for the posts. Not sure how to feel about that but I'll allow it the actually banworthy part is your abhorrent taste in chocolate.
>>41840481>AU version>sign up with Twilight as your waifu>get cards from Twilight and Sci-TwiBrilliant
>>41840010I would but I have dogshit handwriting
>>41840186Can join in if my waifu is a griffon?
>sign up>get matched up to someone that waifus an OC you dont know much about
>>41840010Fags.
The two times I participated in this before I never got anything sent to me, no letter, no nothing.
>>41840682
>>41840010I’m so fuckin tempted to put down Linky but I know that whatever I get is going to kill the mystique for me around her personality.
>>41840734Shit time to use that image, you're slow in response and in the mind. YEAH!
>>41840740I never really got the hype for Linky, so I wouldn't even know where to begin
>>41840663>>41840740this is why im not signing up
I love sucking my dad's penis! YEAH!
I will larp as my anon's waifu and encourage him to finally go to Equestria
>>41841457This will work on me btw
>>41840740I'd have her talk about all the ways she'd like to cook and eat your flesh while offering recipes of her own meat for you to prepare.
>>41840877Doesn't work like that anymore, faggit. Keep impersonating me though, some fan boys just desperately want to be their idols.
>>41840557Yes.>>41840729If this happens I'm going to attempt to organise bug rescue.>>41840663I don't remember if we've had actual OCs in the past but there's one Anon who waifus Queen Umbra and I've always dreaded to be assigned to him. However (>>41840740 >>41840868) this is what the "tell us about your waifu" section is for – giving a good overview of who you think your waifu is and which interpretations you like helps a lot with getting a good letter. I've been assigned to background pony enjoyers before and after getting their preferences I was able to write very well-received letters.
>>41840010I'm signing up immediately!!! Can't wait to get a letter from my bug milf wife
>>41840740Don't put down Linky because she's mine and mine alone
>>41842492What do you mean by "tell your life story" in the google form?
>>41842590Those are partly a joke but the idea is that you can share as much as you're comfortable and think is relevant about yourself to give the person you get assigned to more ideas to personalise the letter. E.g. it'd make it easier to write the letter as if your waifu already knew you for a while and knows your preferences and such.
>no cookie kiln ittit's perfect.
>>41844019silly horse, i love everypony
A letter, wtf? Can't i send a card?
>>41840512Same here. I don't want to feel like I'm scamming an Anon out of his letter.
>>41840740monkey doesn't deserve a card anyways
>>41844232A card can be fine, too (I've gotten a very nicely crafted one before) but the intent of the event is to make an Anon feel loved so you better still put a lot of nice words in it. The format doesn't matter so much as the effect.>>41840512>>41844621Similar to the above, you don't have to have nice handwriting to write a good letter. Depending on who your assignee's waifu is, they might not either. My handwriting isn't nice to look at either but my letters were still well-liked.
Man, I'd love to do something like this but have no idea how to RP, let alone as someone's waifu, and write a letter while doing it. I can't even write anything about myself since I'm so reserved. Really cute idea though, and I'm excited to see what letters anons get.
>>41845471Come on Anon, sign up, it'll be fun! Just try your best. What has helped me is thinking about how I'd imagine my waifu and theirs interacting, it has led to mine being maybe a bit overrepresented in the letter but it gives good ideas to jump off of and filler/smalltalk for the letter and when you have a feel for that you can imagine what you'd think about them.
How many people have actually signed up so far? This year feels kind of dead.
>>41845471RP?
>>41845698Four, excluding myself.>>41845712roleplay
>>41845747I signed up but question: Should I write the letter using my own hand or should I type it?
>>41845580I've got till Tuesday to think about it but damn does it make me nervous. And I thought /ss/ made me worry.
>>41845766I would very much prefer handwriting in the final letter/card, so if at all possible, do that (unless you think it makes more sense for it to be printed, e.g. if someone was waifuing phone pones Coral). Even if think your handwriting is shit I think it's much more personal – and again, not every waifu would logically have great handwriting, either. Just try to make it legible so if your writing has a reputation of being hard to read try going a bit slower.I do however recommend first typing up the letter to brainstorm it, that way you can easily try out ideas, change, discard, or refine them in multiple passes. Sometimes I come up with passages that I will preplan to write differently or strike out to give it a touch of being written directly while being planned. This may be different for everyone though so do as you feel is right but it definitely has helped me (and you have a digital copy you could send if your letter is somehow delayed, with how Canada and USPS have been for /ss/ that may not be that far-fetched).>>41845825I definitely know the feeling, each time I participate I dread getting someone I just have no ideas for. So far it has worked out though (at least I got no complaints) and once I had a few ideas and started writing drafts, the words often started flowing. I've had to rework stuff because I spent too much time involving my waifu or not involving the recipient enough, so you have to check your work, but it can be strangely nice once you get in the flow. That's why I recommended thinking about interactions of their waifu with yours, e.g. your waifu being the link for the letter, it has really helped me get started with the writing and often ideas came from that or thinking about what I wrote. Asking your assignee about their interpretation of their waifu definitely helps, too, if what you got from the form doesn't give you a good feel. Also feel free to put preferred characters you'd like to write for in the additional comments, with this little people there's not much choice obviously but I could assign you to the other Trixiefag, or to myself as I'd be fine with giving you leeway. Though maybe some of the pressure of not wanting to disappoint has pushed me to really care about the letters I wrote. I don't know.I think as long as you find a nice way to write a few lines of "pretending to be the other anon's waifu and telling them how much they love them and/or want to sit on their naughty bits" as Cupid liked to put it you'll be fine. As you can probably tell I like to fix my problems by writing way too much but short and sweet/saucy can also do the deal. I hope I'm not scaring you more with this, and feel free to check the archive for inspiration.
>>41840010Interesting idea, but it sounds too much like ERP to me, so I'll pass.
just assign bad handwriting fags to people who waifu an earth pony. it would be accurate.
Wait so how does this work I have to give some faggot my address and full name?
>>41846374Yes, just like Secret Santa.
>>41846150Anon, it’s nothing like ERP. It’s the most magical thing ever. You get a heartfelt card from your waifu on Valentines Day- who wouldn’t want that? >>41845471It’s super easy. Just tell anons waifu to take a bunch of pony stickers and stick them everywhere! Ask her to print out pictures of herself and stick them all over the card. Request that she speaks from the heart, and it’ll be a card that anon savours for the rest of his life. It’s easy, and the payoff is massive.
>>41846646I get a card from a fat sweaty neckbeard pretending to be my waifu. That's ERP shit. I prefer talking to an AI chatbot.
>>41846630That seems really fucking dangerous dude.
>>41846672What? I’m 300lbs but I consider myself to be very clean. And you’re getting a card from your waifu! Anon is just acting as a vessel for her to take possession of so she can write (you) your card.
>>41846680>I'm 300lbsDude, come on. Lose weight. saying this as someone who lost over 80 pounds, you'll feel so much better when you do.
Seems like a cool idea. However, I know that I would suck at both assignments and I have horrible handwriting. So I'll just lurk here to see where this whole thing goes.
>10
>>41846679Use a PO box or something man. The fags who typically sign up for shit like this aren't as dangerous as you think.>>41846672>AI chatbotI was thinking about using one to help me write my letter.
>>41846679You know the Secret Santa has been running the same way for like eight years without incident, right?
>>41846679Yeah, that random nigger that can bust through your window at any moment is much less dangerous than some random autistic horsefucker.
>>41848037AI chatbotI don't know how I feel about that but I suppose as long as you mostly use it to get ideas it could be helpful.
Whats stopping me from putting a made up retarded oc and writing a bs story about her to force some anon to write that
>>41849156Your own decency, I'd hope
Just submitted my sign up in hindsight might have spilled to much spaghetti and gushed to hard…Hope my anon doesn’t mind reading.
>>41848079How can I be sure one of you autists won't post my name and address online or stalk me?
>>41849867What's stopping me from not signing up ou5 of fear of fucking up an Anon's letter but wishing well for this event?
