It is sort of implied they cannot fly after Tirek sucked them; it could also be general weakness after being drained of your powers. We aren't shown many scenes with Pegasi after being drained, because it happens in a montage, and I don't expect Pegasi to just continue flying after being drained, but be overwhelmed and feel weak at first. Both School Raze and The Ending of the End explicitly show flight not being part of Pegasus (and Alicorn) magic. Controlling the weather and being able to stand on clouds is rather part of Pegasus magic.

>>41845116Perhaps, personally I prefer if flight is magic though, for a few reasons1. it makes the world more whimsical2. it makes more sense, because their wings are way too small lift them3. if they work like regular wings, can you imagine how annoying a pegafriend would be? Every time she flaps, shit goes flying and you get blasted in the face by the displaced air. With magic it's easy to pretend that just doesn't happen unless she wants it to.
