>>41845879Higurashi does the same kind of thing where it seems like your average harem story but it ends up being a bit more twisted. It doesn't have the same meta narrative though. If you're interested I'd recommend playing the original VN, but it's really long so if you don't have the time for that the anime is ok.

>>41845265Okay just gotta add my two cents here, totono is an incredible experience only the likes of nitroplus could deliver, ddlc is obviously trying to emulate it but it's clearly impossible for staff and budget reasons. I understand ddlc was updated a few years back? maybe that added more depth to the characters, but the way totono plays, it's incredible pacing and the eventual awareness of how the shit is hitting the fan, only to remember every little hint there was along the way, and for the game itself to change its rules, is to this day one of the most impactful pieces of media I have ever consumed. I recommend it to everyone, and there is a safe version of it for those not used to eroge.
