I'd make sure there was a lot more continuity in staff and I'd make sure the show has a clear plan of where it's going that we don't diverge from. Also there would be yearly specials in the style of Rainbow Roadtrip done by a B-team, low-stakes comfy stuff with no need to fit into the main continuity so that people would have something to look forward to between seasons.

I would do what Star Trek did during it greatest times. The Next Generation spawned Voyager and Deep Space Nine. At one moment all 3 series run at the same time.
