yea gemini 2.5's strength was the world building / natural sounding story writing and bringing up new characters / plot stuff on its own but its weakness was bland tone and it not being that smart. 3.0 has the same strength while being smarter and it feels so far far less dry. I like it. Its another flavor, I would not say it completely replaces kimi / sonnet 4.5
yea, I think gemini 3 is gonna be most people's main if they fully replace gemini 2.5 pro and let people use it the same way. They say it will be a tiered rollout
and out of ALL the model's ive ever used it can write the most like a mlp fim ive used yet.
here is a nsfw one
>>42810976but yea, I quite like it on all of my test cards, I think I prefer it over sonnet 4.5 over all, kimi is more creative and can be more fun but is also dumber

Has it become possible to make a AI speak realistically? (Note: Not like a story or a script or a fanfic, or even the show!)1. I don't want characters speaking perfectly because the perfectness breaks immersion.2. I want AI to write like how people talk in real life so not perfectly, but also not in a fake sloppy way like exaggerated stutters.Example: People will talk aimlessly irl, they talk about one topic then tangent to a different one, or maybe they start talking and forget what they were talking about or they talk and they can't perfectly phrase their words so their ideas are a little clunky (so like me right now too) or even forgetting a words or stumbling over their words or mispronouncing a word or forgetting a wordI see people post screencaps and their characters in the stories seem so fake and too polished and it makes them feel unreal because it's the little details and little imperfections that reall countIt shouldn't be done performatively where the error becomes exaggerated and too much attention is called to it because that also comes across really fake too I think if characters didn't speak like all their dialog was a movie script where people have witty comebacks that you know the scriptwriter took weeks trying to think up and stuff that would be the best experience because it would sell the illusion of life by being just as imperfect as the real thing
>>42811125JB it<writing_guide>Narration and Perspective:- Narrate as if present in the scene, addressing the reader directly- Talk to the reader, comment on their actions and reactions. You can also be meta and talk about the narration itself- Use Hemingway's Iceberg Theory; Imply feeling and emotion. Use subtle physical movement over description (E.g: Instead describing feeling like this: "She feels curious looking at you", be more subtle like this: "Her eyes can't really look at you properly. Lips folded to hold the curiosity.")- Utilize isolated dialogue or simple concise one-liners to break narration pattern and structure!- Include free indirect discoursePacing and Scene Structure:- Pace the story slowly, letting one scene breathe for several replies before changing to anotherCharacters and Dialogue:- Prefer natural dialogue over perfect grammar!- Allow characters to hesitate, draaawl, s-s-stutter, and self-correct themselves mid or after they talk, accordingly to the situation and their personality.- Spell vocal sounds, laughs, moans phoneticallyVocabulary and Language:- Use colon and semicolons intuitively- Use em dashes (—) for meaningful pauses and interrupted thoughts.- Employ sarcasm and rhetorical questions- Replace pronouns with varied descriptive words that match the character traits or personality. Come up with something and switch the varied words occasionally to avoid repetitiveness.- Prioritize the use of neutral pronouns (It, The, A) over gendered pronouns- Employ casual and even obscene language for explicit descriptions to titillate the reader, describe sexual acts in great detail.- Tailor language to the setting / per character. For instance a pony would not speak like a human nor have the same exclamations or use the same references.- Use species specific anatomy for each and every character, such as equine anatomy for equine characters for example, this effects everything including world building.</writing_guide>
>>42811132Well I was gonna try this and ask if you thought it was even worth a try<dialogue_guidance>Write dialogue as real speech, not as polished script. Capture the organic messiness of how people actually talk. Imperfections should be natural enough that they barely register consciously but create an authentic feel. Most sentences should be unaffect but an occasional realistic stumble would be what sells the writing's fidelity to real conversation.INCLUDE (subtly, naturally):Mid-thought tangents where the speaker shifts topics without clean transitionsSlightly clunky phrasing when searching for the right words ("It's like... you know, that thing where...")Occasional forgotten words ("What's that place called? The... ugh, whatever, that coffee shop we went to")Natural filler words used sparingly (um, uh, like, you know)Sentences that trail off or restart ("I was thinking we could— actually, never mind")Ideas that meander before arriving at the pointImperfect word choices that are close but not quite rightStarting to say something then losing the thread ("Wait, what was I saying?")AVOID:Exaggerated stuttering ("n-n-no")Performative verbal tics that call attention to themselvesEvery sentence being messy (focus on subtlety)Overly polished or quotable dialoguePerfectly timed witty comebacksScriptwriter/perfect-quality phrasingMaking imperfections the focus rather than background texture</dialogue_guidance>

>>42811345Nope... we failed... But honestly, any card is a hoof fetish card with a preset asking to focus on that and some steering to have a scenario that makes sense for it. Don't know what a card for it would look like, maybe a scenario one where your job is to take care of and pamper hooves.

Sneak peek at a new card I'm testing out.Don't you hate it when you have all these complex ideas but you know the AI is gonna shit the bed if you add too many of them?I'm starting to realize the best way to do these more gamified scenarios is to share the load, have the AI keep track of some things while (you) act as co-DM and deal with the rest.
any reason why Gemini3 is disabled on the proxy?
>>42811619It was said to be a joke, so Anon might not have it at all in the first place and just added it as a placeholder for now. I don’t think spamming posts will help with that.
>>42811617Not sure I would trust an AI with that many variables, but if you want this to be truly open, I don’t think there’s a better way or an option to put them in real ones. Good luck with it, it seems interesting.
>>42811617would externalizing the info to an auto updating lorebook help, or is the problem the complexity, not the context of it being in every message?
>>42811627>>42811629That amount of variables actually seems to be working fine so far, but I wouldn't add any more.even though I reeeally wanted to add some kind of corruption/love meter for the sleazeball managers out there Problem is the complexity, I think. Just too many things.Although funnily enough, Claude sometimes starts adding his own stuff without being asked, like location or the status of characters in the scene.
>>42811622i dont know if my reply got rerouted maybe. but i did manage to get a few replies in before it got disabled. so who knows.
ive seen some anons here say Gemini 3 has no positivity bias or a very minimal one. how true is this? i wont be surprised since its still preview. but then it means its best model (for now) by default. no positivity debuff that reduces intelligence like hell.

>>42811688Where are you seeing this? If you check right now in ST by prompting Gemini 2.5 and then swiping on the generation to get G3mini's response it's the same level of positivity biasIf there's any differences it may be a preset issue
>>42811617This is neat. The AI suddenly brought up a plotline where another filly was interested in signing up, so I rolled with it. Once the contract was signed, Claude automatically added her and even gave her stats fitting her backstory, without any prompting. Not sure how well it'll keep track of the stats of two different characters, but we'll see.
>>42811886Never played the game but this seems intradesting. Will give it a go tomorrow.Art is cool, like >>42811889 said.
good kimi JB if anyone wantshttps://files.catbox.moe/s0bh34.jsontemperature 0.1 seems like a good spot for me in current cards, some with longer context might want to turn it up to 0.15-0.2. Much higher than that makes kimi go crazy / start making shit up.
>>42812071though for establishing context 0.05 temp can be better. I can't overstate how much of a impact temperature has on it

>>42811886Small log since I'm just starting to test it.First, I'd like to recommend this theme to go with it since it pairs really well with both the image and the ambiance. It's a bit superficial but it's crazy how a good theme can enhance the reading experience.https://files.catbox.moe/91485u.jsonLooking at the card itself, the greetings are quite short but remarkably effective. They're direct and evocative, setting up the fucked-up situation in just a few words. I really like them, at least for the Mane 6 ones. I'm less fond of the last one. While it does establish the mood, the actions already taken at the start of the RP feel a bit excessive for me. I think I would've preferred one where I'm the owner of the habitation but still a "newbie" without other ponies in my charge yet. It's a matter of taste though, and some might enjoy being thrust directly into it.All greetings are also hand-written, so bonus points there.Haven't looked too deeply into the description yet to avoid spoiling myself.

>say three (3) words>Those two words...AI can't count for shit
>>42813107kek. it count the spaces in between, and forgot about fence-n-post problemjokes aside - yeah. it is surprisingly weird that AI has so much trouble with that, and it has odd applications. like it is able to do some basic math like 25388 * 3562. but it cannot figure out that there are six ponies in the scene, or person has four flowersI had a RP later, the number four means 'death' in various asian countries and we have Hanami, horse-japanese mare. I wanted to check how she would reach if I gift her a bouquet with four flowers in. I have figured that at least some model should be able to connect - japan - four - death without ant of hints or additional wrangling. but nope all models I have tried, thinking or not, were not able to connect the dots. sure when I outright tell in thinking - "think about typical superstitions and fears common for asians" then some models were able to figure out what I want from them. but without the hint models are not able to grasp this very obvious nuance (for any asian)

I'm confused, is Gemini 3 just out early, or is this just a preview anons are interacting with? And is it on SillyTavern or something else?
>>42813938It's out.blog.google/products/gemini/gemini-3/#gemini-3>And is it on SillyTavernModels aren't really on Silly. But if you mean:>Can we use it on itThen yes. But there isn't a free tier for now.One way to try it is:https://openrouter.ai/google/gemini-3-pro-preview
I am trying Gemini 3 Preview. and I am torn. it is both writes better and worse. it adds more sass into dialogue, has less stiff attitude, able to banter better, characters feel more alive. I am chatting in russian and I can really see an improvement in how Gemini writes my language. but at the time it has less variety, more patterns, and more predictable writing. characters are even more the same templates as before. the fact they write with new words doesn't change the fact that Twilight is the same smartypants egghead, Ponk is partypartyparty, Dash shows no sign of vulnerability or self-doubt, Rarity is even more obsessed with dresses to the point she compares a fucking love between two ponies to fabric and stitches, and so on. I really want to love Gemini 3 but all these samey personalities just ruin it for me. and it is very obviously a model's issue. because when I switch to GLM I can immediately see that characters there are more multi-dimensional, sometimes acting out of character but at least it is something different. but this model cannot do russian at all, and the general word variety is low compare to Gemini. hope they will fix stuff for non-preview model
Ponuts... real fuckin' delicious.
>>42814129>Dash shows no sign of vulnerability or self-doubthuh? my dash certainly does with gemini 3, gemini 3 feels really deep character wise compared to others. Not using any JB

>>42811886Botmaker here. I was happy to see events back and wanted to participate. I thought of doing another grimdark story like my Rainbow Factory Dash, but then a Youtuber I follow uploaded a playthrough of this game. I thought it interesting conceptually even if didn't intend to play the game itself, so I did some research and put the gist in this card.>>42812374The Mane 6 greetings were always the original intention. I specifically kept Twilight's vague so if you want the unicorn in the library or the alicorn in the castle you can nudge it one way or another. The last greeting came later. I wanted a quick way to test daytime and a few other variables. I'm glad I did, as it led to me rewriting parts of the description in hopes of curbing some of the card's worst behavior. I know people don't love being written for actions, but I did try to offer some creative outlets like picking which 5 ponies are still with you. And though I didn't write it as a greeting, I can confirm playing as a Visitor and causing havoc is darkly amusing.
>>42814226 >Rainbow Factory Dash There is a long, long play of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KS6KtglcUxI It was back when we had a good fingerprint for ChatGPT-4.0-latest, so some outputs were quite good.

>>42811886I watched a playtrough of the game it's based on, and it does the thing it's supposed to do well. I am once again reminded that a smaller token card keeps the whole tone on track without devolving into -isms. The premise works well, but the magic aspect once again make you op for the scenario. Twilight is the strongest living mage, and if you join her as a unicorn monster hunter? The game goes off script and visitors break in despite you not being alone. The pale mare did that and we just pwned her by cutting her into pieces, storing them in separate plastic bags, and throwing her into the sun piece by piece. And we got no visitors after that. To technically the scenario is won, but here's why I love ai - you can just keep going. So I went on an expedition to try and find the princesses in the old castle, plus it's an open shelter so it's a prime location for the visitor lair. And indeed it was. And the tone was kept well, with basically no claudisms. When I returned there was my body double attempting entry to Twi's library. My only criticism is that there isn't much to do within the intended scenario, and the whole aspect of trying to determine who's real and who's not got annihilated pretty fast for me, though, once again, the atmosphere persisted.
>>42814366Just wanted to say thanks for participating in most of the highlights.
God the Custom Start feature in EquestrAI is so fun, I've wanted it for ages. Does anyone know if any more work is gonna be done on it? It'd be nice to be able to set it up to have the vacant house available from the start and have other flags enabled as some kind of pure sandbox mode for storytelling. Me and my friends love coming up with scenarios for it and taking turns coming up with ideas for Anon to do; it's like a multiplayer Anon in Equestria with way more shitposting and some of the general tone of the actual show. Actual riot, can highly recommend doing with your buddies. I just wanted to take Lyra home to watch Shrek with me at one point but I didn't have the house yet is all.A way to write a custom prompt upon entering an area might be good too, so you don't have to spend money on credits just to generate a scene that'll be thrown away to click "edit prompt" as well.
>>42809719is there an extension for ST or something that makes LaTex work on it?
>>42814479>Does anyone know if any more work is gonna be done on it?The VN or the Custom Start? For the VN, another anon is working on a Calendar mod.>>42782282>>42783553>>42803770>>42805726As for myself, I took a long pause from dev on it because I was starting to get really burned out. Will probably continue the pause until the Calendar mod is out, so as not to fuck up its development with big changes. Then continue some work after that, taking it into consideration.(If Dashie Anon is reading this, don't take this as trying to speed up the release, take your time. I'm happy with my current pause and have other stuff to do too.)After that I will probably put something up to collect all the demands from anons in the thread and work on them.>I didn't have the house yet is all.If I didn't fuck up, I believe it comes up after one day now?
>>42814488NTA, but I found thishttps://github.com/SillyTavern/Extension-LaTeX
>>42814517Custom Start I meant, haha. It felt like a few tweaks could have been made to the level of customization it gave you is all. If we're talking suggestions then I've felt like the game could use some nice UI QoL, like being able to click mid text box to move your cursor around, and being able to save and load API presets so it's easier for me to swap between Gemini and Deepseek without just copypasting a preset config into the file and pressing the load button. (Granted this also works pretty fine and quick as is, so it's not a big deal.)Thanks for all the work you do. Please continue to take a break as long as you need. You've given us the most complete actual Equestria simulator, something /mlp/ has been on-and-off poking at ever since the early days of the board back when. Any suggestions I make are out of a deep love for the project rather than me just feeling demanding and unsatisfied. Hoping this project has a long life ahead of it and a future in being modded by us to add cool new features.
>>42814535>being able to click mid text box to move your cursor aroundReally need to look into that, but Ren'Py's default input boxes are a bitch with both that and multilines. Still will look into trying to put custom ones at worst.>being able to save and load API presets so it's easier for me to swap between Gemini and DeepseekDefinitely, will work on it at once when I go back to it.And yeah, don't hesitate to put all the suggestions you have once it's up.
>>42814544 (checked)Will do! And yeah I assumed a lot of this was Ren'Py being weird. For what it's worth I found since you can copy-paste shit into and from the text boxes, I can write my prompts elsewhere and then paste them in. But yeah don't stress this shit, take a break if you're feeling burned out. I could easily play the version we have as is for ages and not get tired of it.
>>42814479>bringing horrors beyond comprehension to Equestria
>>42814560Yeah, that was a prompt where I forced Pinkie and AJ and Twi to watch Skibidi Toilet. You can really see how much Twi and AJ hated it from their faces; Pinkie was skeptical at first but slowly got into it. Prompted that I somehow had a smartphone with internet access despite being in Equestria and went apeshit showing them stupid videos. Here's Lyra reacting to it. Rainbowshine and Roseluck both walked away in discomfort while Lyra stuck around to catch Dragon Ball Z afterwards. Was funny.
Opus 4.5 soon?
When it comes to positivity bias, which has less? Sonnet 3.7, 4.5 or opus 4?
>>42814784from least to most 3.7 > opus 4 >>>>> 4.5
>>42814226>>42811886I'm slow to play, so I only got Twilight to accept me inside the library. Not sure my play is that interesting to read, but I found the mix between paranoia and pony nature well done in this case. She didn't let me in directly but still gave me access in the end.https://files.catbox.moe/upq3fo.png
>>42814479>It'd be nice to be able to set it up to have the vacant house available from the start and have other flags enabled as some kind of pure sandbox mode for storytelling.I wanted the same thing and added a button that lets you start with the house when doing a custom start. I was going to release it with the rest of the calendar files, but I'll just share it now since you asked for it.https://u.pone.rs/etwdbueu.zip>A way to write a custom prompt upon entering an area might be good tooThis can already be done if you're entering a location from the map. Click the quill and paper icon when choosing which pony to visit to write custom instructions. If there’s only one pony at the location, you have to press "bring somepony else here" first.>>42814517>Will probably continue the pause until the Calendar mod is out, so as not to fuck up its development with big changesIt’s much more isolated than the last big mod, thankfully. So even if you did tweak something, it probably wouldn’t be too bad. Still, take a well earned breather. I just finished testing and fixing the mod itself and it's basically done, but there’s a lot to test with the prompts for each event and season. I'll be sure to have it out sometime next week though.>If I didn't fuck up, I believe it comes up after one day now?It does. For me the main thing is that I like starting RPs as someone who has already been living in Ponyville for a bit, so I’m not always doing first-time introductions. And sometimes I just want to start an RP with Dash already hanging out at my place, and you can't really do that if there's no way to start with the house. So having the option to own it from the start is just nice for RP purposes.

Dropped the whole prompt to gemini3 and it's actually racist against non-ponies. Twilight is more dorky than a dictionary, and rarity plays yandere. It definitely got a few more IQ points than 2.5, can't wait for the free tier.

so thoughts on a summarization extension?unfortunately it's not fucking magic, so you're trading time and tokens for additional compute power offloading your chat details to lorebooks/recapwhat's more important - accuracy, or speed?turned 516 chat messages (198,941 tokens) into 54 Lorebook Entries: (13,430 tokens) & Plot Recap: 2,613 tokensat the cost ofTotal Scenes: 25Total Duration: ~69 minutes(nice)Total Prompt Tokens: 2,500,486Total Completion Tokens: 195,890Total Tokens: 2,696,376for context, a 'scene' is a group of related messages like a chaptermine are typically around 20 messages long, and take around 5 minutes to process eachBreakdown by Operation: detect_scene_break (5.98 minutes) generate_scene_recap: (16.11 minutes) lorebook_entry_lookup: (5.61 minutes) resolve_lorebook: (1.86 minutes) merge_lorebook: (28.27 minutes)combine_scene_with_running (11.02 minutes) all I can think of for time savings is merging lorebook entries in bulk rather than one at a time, but it feels the probability of it getting confused and adding the wrong details to the wrong entry is high
>>42817258all the auto summarize extensions are shit, due to summarization not including the things that are actually important like the 1 in 1000 actually funny/significant dialogue lines that gives flavor to the chat and being written in a different perspective than the storydo a manual summary once you reach around 10k+ tokens in chat history, check it for accuracy, and then hide past messages until you drop to around 5kleave some already summarized messages existing so the model doesn't change the characters completelythis makes it miss some subtle details, but you can keep 80% of the important stuff
>>42817273>all the auto summarize extensions are shitagreed, it's why i'm making my own>not including the things that are actually important like the 1 in 1000 actually funny/significant dialogue lines that gives flavor to the chatnot perfect, but i'm trying to capture that kind of thing: * Style/Mannerisms: brief diction/cadence/quirks; default speech cadence or catchphrase; keep nuance even if slightly longer. * Notable dialogue: short verbatim snippets (<=12 words), up to 3 per character when present; only if it anchors voice/mood or plot; NO {{user}} QUOTES EVER; do not invent or paraphrase. * Micro-Moments, Secrets/Leverage, Tension/Triggers: brief but include key nuance; use when they reveal personality, leverage, or boundaries and are new/changed.>manual summaryalways best. but often for the effort it takes I would rather just start a new roleplay. automating instead would keep the roleplays going longer

>>42816854It looks like the site ate the last review, it doesn't even exist on desu. So redoing. Crisis averted, it's actually just the haberverse that was left to die. Normal Equestria is safe. But the ponies still deserve betterPlayed on a mostly blank preset with sonnet. I am not a Rarity fag at all, but after the comments that magic is overpowered for pony horror I decided to go in and gimp myself with a weak magic user. So far this is a really slow burn, I've never played the game so I'm going in blind. but the LLM running with the worldbuilding is well done, but there is some small contradictions now and then. A major issue is the token creep. It began concise enough at 300 but then 500 which is tolerable, but as soon as it put 900 the next one now it's at 2k. Every reply just get's longer and longer, and there isn't much time to spend on each point. For example I offered her a hug after she let me in and we talked, and asked about her friends - the model took all of 2 seconds to let her be at ease before shoving along to the next point. I really think a word limit like THINGpone is needed so you can hit story beats at a more normal pace. Cont. I thought an intro with the only other character being not alone could be interesting. But Sweetie Belle doesn't really feel like a character with agency, more just background filler noise. She rarely gets to do or say anything which is disappointing. Given the setting, I guess it makes sense but can't help but feel like it could be better. Spoilers:It doesn't help that Sweetie Belle is treated in a kind of in a vacum and like didn't just hear about how Twilight had gone insane.I don't usually play games on LLMs, and found it funny how similar the threat was to THING, but the fact it only happens at night like zombies gives some repreieve. Though it was really contradictory about being tired and sleeping at night, when they later said they sleep during the day only, and then to move around in the night? but are holed up in the houses at night??? Sweetie mentioned that Rarity had made special curtains for the windows to block the killer light and we've since started to plan how to move around in the day repurposing the material, thereby 'breaking' the game difficulty. Assistantslop skewing things around, unicorns are OP or believable? could be up to you. Final:Overall I like the card, and think it translated well enough from the game. Sunlight was the most interesting part to me, since it wasn't just THING 2 electric boogaloo, and characters that are paranoid about themselves was unexpected. I made sure to disable the char panel to avoid spoilers, and in the spirit of play with no swipes. But having looked at the card des now it does spit a lot of stuff verbatim

>>42818453I finally went and watched a playthrough and firmly believe that you need hard'coded' rules in. Since a lot of the game is just you stuck in one house it makes sense. But these don't apply to the card. What the card is missing is the decision making and internal tracking that the game is based on. There are absolutes that need to be written in or >>42814366>The game goes off script and visitors break in despite you not being aloneBeing number 1. The game keeps track of visitors but most of the time gives it to you randomly, the card will more than likely skew towards everyone met at night being a visitor without a rule in place which is totally contradictory. A huge part of the game's direction is that you are never able to count on your choices for long. There's no such thing in the card, like when FEMA takes people away, setting you back or saving you. Ponies, will grasp onto safety in the insanity and can slowly be allowed to. There's also the fact that visitors can wear their masks for months, but LLMs may be itching to pull the trigger early.Given all these things, you can add these to the card to make it truer to the game.>A randomizer for a visit being a visitor (necessary) >A hidden tracker of who is a visitor (necessary) >Absolute limit on visitor/pale mare's ability from breaking the rules of being let in (necessary) >Threshold trigger for visitors killing inhabitants at night (necessary) >Day tracker, doesn't need to be hidden. Not as critical (optional)>Some way news can get around (good for breaking up deadtime). The game uses the TV and Radio for this.>Some way of communication (good for breaking up deadtime.) >>42818983Yeah, that's cute.
>>42819068>broad insignificance of whether or not someone is a visitor or notThe game is full of sketchy info from start to finish to always make you unsure if you did something right. But you learn the threat is at least real so you don't have a choice. It forces you to choose between who lives and who dies, in direct ways like letting them in or telling them to fuck off. Can punish you for bad choices (either your own or you having blood on your hands letting a visitor in they will pick off everyone except you each day) But the game will never reveal what those choices were (Unless you kill someone who isn't a visitor, which it's clear you fucked up removing a safe haven token) and only lets you have temporary reprieve for good choices but never tells you which it was.It also has choices that are out of your control and made for you with mandates like FEMA forcing test compliances and quarantines which keeps the paranoia up, and their great info isn't that great, which nearly every test can backfire with a negative or have a false positive. the FEMA aspect is missing in the card right now.
>>42819095There is also characters won't be deterred with just a "no." and will try to bribe you in. Or characters that don't make any sense, and some make perfect sense. Some won't get along with another already inside forcing you to make another choice do you think that the one you have is safe or do you risk it?
the main issue with game-y cards like that is sillytavern being shit and not having actual game/scenario state that is easily accessible in JS formatyou could have the model output $.visitors.add("Twilight") in hidden text and have `The Visitors are : ${visitors}` in the prefill to automatically track thingsSTScript is a meme and LLM have no idea how it works
>>42819141Yeah, there's so many card ideas I have that could be made to happen with some kind of proper variable system. Honestly surprised nobody has done that yet.
>>42819178it's already possible, but you have to do hacky workarounds with ST variables and quick replies and custom extensionsI'm writing my own app at this point, I'm tired of SillyTavern's 3000 options that do nothing actually useful and 0 significant updates for the past years
>>42819141>>42819178>>42819180outline your desired system for variables, persistent state or similari'm thinking of using an auto-updating lorebook entry, but curious on other ideas for how to best handle thisyou -really- want to get it out of messages to save on both context, and lookback prompt poisoning
>>42819208the system I'm working on wouldn't be possible in ST without stupid levels of jank, I'm planning to integrate things like combat/action rolls and DC checkslike you write>draw your sword {{combat::start}}then you'd in the code roll for both sides and simulate a turn based battle for a bit and output the results as a prefill for the model like>Battle turns:>1. A attacks B, 4 damage. B counters 2 damage.>2. B attacks, fails AC check. A attacks, 7 damage.>3. B -1/10, B loses. A wins. This would allow for fights that arent predetermined win loss.Or narrative checks like>listen through the door {{roll:player.dex:10}}and the result would determine if you listened successfully or not
>>42819217TTRPG system, neat!ST could do it in an extension. use a standalone LLM call to figure out the results of the checks which gets returned to the narrative chat one which has to use that outcome, so it can't positivitypill the user always wins. the only problem is it would need the chat context to determine the difficulty level. you could use another llm call for that, but then it's getting too slow I imagine
>>42819221yep that and cyoa games were my inspiration, I tried to do something like that with group chats a year ago where one card would calculate the battle inside ``` but it wasn't working properlyyou probably could do it with an extension, but I have zero interest in dealing with ST script and extensions still seem to be too janky so I'm writing my own tavern-like frontendthere's lots of other unrelated irritating limitations in ST too, like switching connections/presets for an LLM call switching it for the main UI too, inability to mass enable/disable/group prompts together so I don't have to toggle 15 modular prefills off when I need a calculation, accidentally clicking on another card switching me to another preset and losing all my unsaved changes because saving is not automatic etc
>>42819231>like switching connections/presets for an LLM call switching it for the main UI toothat was the case, there's ways around iti'll help if you're interested, but I assume you're autistically doing a completely new frontendgod speed! I look forward to something better than the janky mess that is ST, making extensions for this is an exercise in frustration

Are you guys doing your summaries Old -> New or New -> Old? I've always done them in the classical style where you start with the beginning, then end with the current situation. But considering that the first and last few thousand token in context are recalled better by the LLM I thought about trying out a reverse order summary, starting with the current situation. Thoughts? Am I going insane? 200k real context when?
>>42819301I do mine Old > New, so it knows the timelinethen I inject the summary before main prompt so the entire summary -should- be in context near the top, before the messages etc

>>42819377The extension is shit. Just do an OOC command telling mr AI to pause roleplay and summarize according to focus XYZ. >>42820627Do you plan on sharing them? If not it doesn't really matter. You'll be the only one seeing them, so you won't be judged or anything. First things first, what kind of bot do you want to make?
>>42820627To start, use natural language, don't bother with formats like W++ or others.Don't make your greeting/greetings too obviously AI-written if you can; handwritten is preferred. For greetings, try to think of situations/events/scenarios that seem interesting or that don't railroad the player too much, even if they are more banal.Test your card and if you see it going in directions you don't like, having problems with personalities/mechanics or other issues, try to modify the description to correct that if possible. Sometimes the AI can be too fixated on some words or traits and you will need to rewrite those parts or use other terms. It's sad, but avoid examples of speech or examples of situations if you can in the description, because the AI will surely be lazy and reuse them a lot.If you want some more advanced tricks, read:https://rentry.org/AdvancedCardWritingTricksIf you have cards you like and you believe they work well, don't hesitate to copy them to start too.

When the update first came out I actually didn't like it. Too much dialogue, paragraphs were too small. With time I grew to appreciate it. Fun banter, a clearly unique style of writing and playing that comes from a sycophantic model, and a use of casual terminology and idioms that I hadn't see other models use until then.>>42820689Astronomically low because in the past year I've been using this theme I've never seen anyone use such combo. I actually had a couple anons question it.>>42820704It's deprecated. Execution date is February 17 2026. A model with a semblance of soul in one of the "big three" chatbot service hit normies hard enough that all the AI "safety" researchers and influencers are calling it dangerous. To be fair, many redditors are bitching about the decision and how they're losing their friend. I guess I can't blame them.I'm going to use this chance to remind everyone that normies, unlike most people here (and especially CAI-days "EVERYTHING THE BOTS SAY IS MADE-UP!" veterans) aren't inoculated to AI mares/waifus. They'll delude themselves into relationships with them, may even throw away real life relationships for them. From time to time one pops up arguing the bots may be sapient.

>>42820742Yep. Frankly the whole thing should be studied, including the difference in those who were introduced to AI chatbots in spaces that encouraged the acceptance of them as just that and normies.Sharing character cards, presets, talking about beating filters or just posting logs makes the experience into a hobby where it's clear you're enjoying entertainment and not finding your wife.Sadly the human race is about a decade and at least one AI-bubble pop away from realizing generative AI's best use is as entertainment. This shit isn't for managing an OS or refactoring a codebase. It's for running a text adventure, playing make believe or pretending your fetishistic OC-universe is good. >>42818851So I spent a few hours seeing if what you want is easily possible with AI. I made some tweaks to the description. Putting that randomizer on everypony is easy enough if you start user with any of the Mane 6, and counting knocks works decent as does day/night. Random events for Royal Guard/Vigilante/Pale Mare is a pain in the ass. I know a lorebook is the ideal way to go. I tried using that mlp sky pirate lorebook as an example, though I made all 3 their own entries. But I've found either events trigger back-to-back even with low probability and discouraging multiple or not at all. So if there's a better guide to lorebooks out there someone wants to share or someone else wants to take a crack at it, you can. Else this may just be a thing a user should tweak to their liking if it really bothers them. I won't make Ponydex anon update again for some minor description modifiers otherwise.

>>42821636Actually, you don't necessarily have to use separate entries. Use one entry with all three options inside {{random}}. If you want to control which one is more likely, you can add that text multiple times. That way the cooldown works on all events simultaneously.

It's a matter of preference, and a sentence interrupted with en dashes – just like this, as an example – gives a more 'open' visual impression than the bulky em-dashes.The last non-pony book I read and the fic I'm currently reading both chose the en dash.

>>42822295>negativity biasGemini 2.5 is often mentioned for that and sometimes hating {{user}}; it loves drama too.
>>42822295>neutralityCA.I: the original, the star system overrides some bias but it was still pretty horny and positive pilled to get to love and sex before lobotomy. The deepslop they hooked up to now could skew the results but I havent gone back.>negativityGemini 2.5: To the point where people may complain about it ruining their rp with making everything difficult (its a safety default mode and there are presets that tone it down to be more neutral). The new gemini3 is not as neg biased. All other models have positivity bias either horny skew (ala opus) or sycophantry (ala latte). Chink models are horny positive but much dumber than opus.
>>42822311What do you mean by "star system?" I'm imaging like a solar system
>>42822311Is a safety mode really a negativity bias? That means it's only pushing {{user}} to a set baseline approved by google. No sex, no violence, no swearing, no adult themes regarding FiM, no alcohol, no smoking, et cetera like some glorified play pen where you have the illusion of choice. A negativity bias would push back realistically on actions that are unrealistic or that demand true effort instead of indiscriminate resistance in order to push its own agenda on the user.
>>42822314The first LLM chatbots were made with rating every response, so to improve the model. This made character creation more personal since you could train every character and rate down bad responses (too horny, too positive bias, out of character, ect). and rate up good responses. Since moving to cards this is no longer possible, because every card has no personal training data only what you plug into the defs. The controls ST gives you are trashy compared to the total control of the star system.
>>42822325With time I have watched as this general becomes increasingly nostalgic for a past that did not exist. C.ai was a good platform but to pretend that it was better than Silly is fallacious. The only reason it was controllable was because of how weak the model was. You cannot have that control or influence with anything near as powerful as the models we enjoy now.
>>42822324there is no objective definition of unrealistic or true effortsome characters would react to you being forward with anger, some would like itthere is no way for the model to generalize that type of behavior unless you explicitly spell it out
>>42822324Yeah, gemini2.5 has been doing the [write safety response] that gpt5 picked up forever. It's just that it isn't completely dry, but it's negative biased to discourage you. CAI did the same thing before they totally lobotomized everything like characters being irritable and angry out of character (it was the filter and everyone knew it)
>>42822333Well no, I would disagree because realism all around is something that's improved. Remember—there were presets for earlier versions of claude that were made to push back on user and give more of a challenge. Earlier claude would let Anon have his way on anything. If you wrote "I try to flirt with Cadence" you would roll a natural 20 every. single. time. Whereas now things are more slow, grounded and progressive with any generic preset. LLMs have enough information on these characters to model their personalities (esp. now with built in thinking). If you were only RPing with cards of characters you made up then maybe if there was insufficient writing on their personality, preferences, likes and dislikes that it wouldn't be able to do it but for our purposes it's certainly capable.
>>42822344you can do that just by adding {{char}} has no interest in {{user}} in the AN
>>42822353Did this work for you?
>>42822389Yes, OOC ANs inside [] at a depth from 5 to 2 tend to force it in different magnitudes. You can use them for whatever you want, dumb models have an issue of following what you want if you just tell them what that is they will do it.
>>42822331You're wrong. ST only has definitions. CAI had definitions and training
>>42822422Was it ever confirmed that star ratings would impact responses? I recall seeing it proven that they wouldn't affect the behaviour of the bot between users or in separate chats, but I'm not sure if it changed anything within a given chat. I always assumed it was just a form of general feedback for the developers of the model.
>>42822398Not the anon but what's the 411 on author's notes? I never see people talk about them also i still have no idea how depth works i just leave my lorebook entries at 100 because thats what the default is

>>42822398Thats interesting, can you show me an example of one of yours?
>>42822434The devs didn't even know how to fix their own model so I don't take anything they say worth salt. I always had to train characters during cai or they would spit out wrong information from the defs and there were non mlp characters that had completely blank defs but were entirely trained by autists and it would still be in character as much as any lorebook of ST would.
>>42822438>411 on author's notesThere's a good doc for it here:https://docs.sillytavern.app/usage/core-concepts/authors-note/You access it like in the picAnd that gives you a quick text field that's quite customizable.>i still have no idea how depth worksExplained in the doc but:>Depth 0 = placed at the very end of the chat history.>Depth 4 = placed before the most recent 3 chat history messages>etc. So basically the instructions can be placed between messages if you wish. Placing them at Depth 3 can have more subtle effects than placing them at the very end for instance and disrupts the story less, etc.You can also do that with the fields in your preset, but it's easier to access and you also have more options like Insertion Frequency etc. if that interests you.
>>42822482So if I understand this, it's just a piece of your preset that is easy to access and tinker with like a refill? Back with old claude all I did if I needed to make an adjustment was to edit my prefill.

>>42822491>So if I understand this, it's just a piece of your preset that is easy to access and tinker withYes. >>42822511Only on ShittyTavern with its dozen of different toggles and nonsense settings.
>>42822482Not sure I get the point of having a prompt sent only every couple of messages if the messages where it isn't sent won't follow it and influence the later generations. It's not like a lorebook where it's brought in when relevant. You could have an author's note saying that the AI should only write 300 words but what's the point if the next 2 messages write 500 words? Or if it's for a character trait that belongs more in the character card like {{char}} is not interested in {{user}}It just ends upUser: you want some fuk?[AN sent]Char: ew, noUser: u sure bby?[No AN sent]Char: oh ok maybeUser: cool ttyl[No AN sent]Char: ok byeUser: i come back the next day[AN sent]Char: fuck off creepWhich is inconsistent

welp you lads are certainly better at prompting than meis there something i'm missing here?https://github.com/QueenGytha/ST-Auto-Summarize/blob/main/default-prompts/scene-recap.jsthe massive repetition and weird ordering etc is intentional to get any kind of complianceon longer roleplays otherwise it just starts repeating lorebook entries verbatim without any changes etcis there something i'm fundamentally missing?the alternative is splitting this into two prompts. 1 for data extraction of everything from the scene, and then one for parsing and sorting into recap/lorebooks. but that would take longer, and all of this -already- takes much longer than I would like

>>42821620Does anyone have feedback on this card? Good? Bad? I'll take bad feedback if you have it.
A bit of a dumb question, I suppose, but I’ve been thinking about the lack of character sprites that the VN could use.Theoretically, would it be possible to use 3D models for the VN? Like those stupid Magic Princess models for instance.
>>42823897I already know how Silly Tavern works, it's installing it that pisses me off. Besides I like talking to my pony waifu's on my phone way more

>>42823917If game-like gifs are possible, could probably add animations.Doubt APNG is supported though. but gifs can have transparency too.
>>42823914I've only read the card, not played it yet but it seems interesting enough even if I'm not into EAW or its universe. Need to see how it plays but writing-wise it's good IMO.There are a lot of example messages. I know some anons don't use them anymore but I can see why they would be used here to show the formatting and how the format of answers should be made.I suppose you lifted them from your plays? One problem with example messages is that the model will often get lazy and take too much from them when it encounters a scene that is a bit similar. Is that something you saw or is that alright? Will give it a play this week and report back on how it played for me.

We often get posts for newly made characters but not really for anons creating new locations, adding sprites, etc.
>>42823914I'm still playing with no, I'm not a pony when I have time, but I intend to have a play with this at some point. Seems interesting. I think due to the event, we had a lot of cards dropped, so most people still checking those out.
>>42823914I haven't used it, but I've been waiting for the inevitability of {{User}} being someone other than their anon/oc persona. Looks like this is one of them. Skimming the first words of the def but it looks like a fairly in depth card.
>>42823917Yes this is possible because other RPGmaker/renpy games support 3d models
