>You are greeted by a few quiet sounds as you wake up.
>And before you even open your eyes, you recognise them as the remote chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves in the wind.
>You lie on the side in a straw bed, and are covered by a blanket.
>Normally, it would take you a second or two to remember what is going on, yet the last night is still fresh in your mind.
>You take a breath and open your eyes.
>And the vision of a mostly empty room lit by the light of an early dawn confirms your theory at once.
"So, I did it again."
>Then you turn to the mare in your embrace.
"Morning, #deca."
>#deca.mare starts to stir gently.
>"Good morning. Did you sleep well?"
>You smile and nuzzle her cheek.
"Like a log."
>You chuckle.
"No angry mob with pitch forks came around to wake us up either. That's a good sign, I suppose."
>Your amusement does not last for very long, however.
>For you also remember that Sky Squall and Firefly should already be back from their little excursion.
>Which means that both of them could have heard your comment.
>You turn to the other patch of straw to check whether you can see any reaction.
>And you see that it is empty.
"Uhm..."
>You address no one in particular.
>But considering that #deca.mare is the only one who is nearby, you effectively ask her directly.
"... where are they?"
>#deca.mare laughs quietly.
>"They can answer that question themselves."
>A few seconds later, you hear the sound of steps.
>Two ponies, if you are not mistaken.
>Which, given the circumstances, makes it evident to you who is coming home.
"Well, at least they didn't hear me."
>#deca.mare does not reply, as one of the two Pegasi opens the door right as you finish your sentence.
>You fall silent and wait for the couple to enter.
>Firefly and Sky Squall step lightly as they head for their bed.
>It sounds like they are trying to be subtle about their return.
>Considering that you have not cut your connection two times in a row, that attempt is fairly justified too.
>And it could have worked, at least in your case, if you were still asleep.
>#deca.mare would have noticed their approach in any case, so they were probably not even trying to hide their intentions from her.
>Since you are already fully awake though, that point has become moot altogether.
>But you do not wish to let them know that.
>So you close your eyes again and lie still whilst the two Pegasi come closer.
>Halfway across the room, however, they suddenly stop.
>Sky Squall speaks up.
>"You're awake, aren't you."
>You hesitate for a second before you open your eyes.
"How did you know?"
>He replies immediately.
>"Intuition."
>You turn to the stallion.
>He and Firefly are standing side by side.
"Your senses were right."
>A brief pause.
"And... you're late."
>Which they are, by any observable measures.
>>
>>42900921
>After all, Sky Squall said clearly that they would return before the break of dawn.
>And you wonder why that might have changed, given that Sky Squall is usually very reliable when it comes to his predictions.
>Then you notice something.
>The coats of the two seem to be somewhat shiny in the early morning light.
"You took a bath?"
>Firefly is not very keen to answer, and visibly so, but she does so anyway.
>"No. It was... just a quick morning shower. Courtesy of a wild cloud out in the open that nopony will miss."
>Alright.
>So that was the reason.
>And whilst you can imagine why the two have changed their plan on the spot, you do not ask further.
>For the wilder details should remain private.
"I see."
>You inhale.
"Hope you're fit for the new day though. We have a lot ahead of us today."
>Firefly and Sky Squall exchange glances before both of them start to grin.
>The stallion responds.
>"Don't worry about us. We'll manage."
>He pauses, and Firefly raises her voice.
>"I won't mind a nap though. Half an hour or so."
>Sky Squall nods.
"Right. We have the time. The Earth ponies aren't out yet. I guess they're still at their breakfast."
>Very well.
>You are not against the idea of relaxing for a while either.
>So you give the two a nod before you close your eyes again and nuzzle #deca.mare once more.
>Then you hear the steps of Sky Squall and Firefly, followed by the rusling of straw.
>And then, only a few minutes later, a loud knocking.
>Coming straight from the door.
>You open your eyes again whilst Sky Squall grumbles loudly.
>"What the..."
>More knocking, accompanied by the groaning sounds of a certain Pegasus mare.
>You take a breath and loosen your embrace around #deca.mare.
"I'll go."
>You give #deca.mare a light peck on the cheek and stand up.
>And as you head for the door, you grin wryly in Sky Squall's direction.
"No Earth ponies out there, hm?"
>Sky Squall's reply is a singular grunt which almost resembles a sigh.
>He clearly did not see this coming, and he does not like that this took him by surprise.
>So you drop the matter right after this little quip and direct your attention to the visitor.
>You open the door as soon as you reach it, and look right into the face of the local healer.
>He carries a well worn, yet fully functional pair of saddlebags, and he looks you directly in the eyes.
>As it turns out, Sky Squall was technically not wrong with his assessment.
>But you doubt that he will care about this detail right now.
>Either way, you smile politely as you greet the early visitor.
"Oh, hello. Good Morning, Fine Point."
>The Unicorn stallion gives you a friendly nod.
>"Good morning. May I come in? There's something I'd like to discuss."
>Well, it would be rude to refuse that request now, especially when you consider how forthcoming he and Bubbly Droplet treated you during your first visit in their house.
"Sure, come. But we can't offer you much. Our household is very, shall we say, provisional."
>>
>>42900925
>The Unicorn shrugs.
>"That is a given. Nopony can restore a house in two days."
>You step aside to grant Fine Point the space he needs to enter.
>And as he steps in, you recall what you saw in Fine Point's house yesterday.
"I honestly didn't think you'd be out here so early. It must have been a feat to wake up Droplet before dawn."
>The light Unicorn stallion smiles faintly.
>"Oh, she didn't. She's still in higher spheres."
>You tilt your head.
"What?"
>His grin grows a little for a second as he sees your confusion.
>Then he goes on.
>"It's our custom. I tell her when I leave early and let her sleep. That arrangement works very well for us."
>He laughs briefly.
>"Believe me, Bubbly can be close to a coma in the morning hours when she wants to. It does not disturb her at all."
>So it is not unusual for him to be out and active whilst his wife is still slumbering at home.
>You keep that information in mind.
>But just before you plan to go on, you hear yet more steps.
>Someone from the other room is heading for the entrance.
>It is Sky Squall.
>The Pegasus stallion eyes Fine Point and greets him with a casual salute.
>"Morning, Fine."
>He blinks.
>"You picked an early hour to get here."
>Sky Squall states this observation with a completely factual tone.
>He shows no signs of annoyance or grumpiness, even though you know that he and Firefly would have preferred to get at least half an hour or so of respite.
>"How can we help you?"
>Fine Point responds.
>"You can't. I'm here to help you."
>Now you blink.
"In danger of repeating myself, what?"
>#deca.mare is the next to join your circle.
>And she immediately catches the Unicorn's attention.
>"Ah, there you are."
>#deca.mare acts as if she were lightly confused by Fine Point's behaviour.
>"Hello, Fine Point. What is going on?"
>The horn of the Unicorn starts to glow as he is reaching for something in one of his bags.
>"I have something for you."
>The flap of the bag gets shoved aside by a floating phial of moderate size.
>It is a rather simple piece of glasswork as far as the aesthetics are concerned, but it does what it is intended to deliver.
>The object is almost filled to the brim with what appears to be a lightly green and grey powder of sorts.
>And the opening is sealed by a piece of cork.
>"Here."
>The phial flies towards #deca.mare and stops right in front of her face.
>She curiously studies the powder through the glass and the magic glow.
>"What is that?"
>Fine Point beams like a proud craftspony.
>"A complete mix of all the major nutrients you are likely to need in the coming months. In a reasonable dosage too."
>He inhales.
>"It's my personal formula, created specifically for expecting mares. The powder is fresh, too. Everything comes from a good selection of local plants and herbs."
>You look at the stallion and interject.
"Fresh? You made that in a day?"
>>
>>42900929
>Fine Point responds with an enthusiastic nod.
>"It is easy to collect the plants when you know where to look. And you would be surprised how quickly you can grind the parts when somepony drains the moisture for you."
>So he gathered the materials, and Bubbly Droplet prepared it for him.
>The phial is probably one of hers too.
>"I know you've just begun to settle in, and still lack..."
>He looks around to prove his point.
"...well, basically everything."
>You do not hear any notion of belittlement in his voice either.
>He is only giving you an apt summary of your current situation.
>A situation you are already fully aware of, but never mind.
>The Unicorn goes on.
>"This powder is meant to provide you with everything you need to ensure a normal development."
>You take another look at the phial before you turn to Fine Point again.
"I don't want to sound ungrateful or anything, but do you think that's necessary?"
>You clear your throat.
"I mean, have you spotted anything that hints at certain... complications?"
>Fine Point shakes his head with a polite smile.
>"No. Everything looks good so far. And the powder is my contribution to keep it that way."
>He takes a breath.
>"You see, foals are a great thing, but they're demanding and hungry for nutrients. Nutrients that a one-sided diet doesn't provide in satisfactory quantities."
>Fine Point sees the surprise in your face and chuckles.
>"Trust me, I'm familiar with the usual 'thank you bundles' you get in this village. Their quality is excellent, don't misunderstand me, but you'll need a little more dietary variety for a solid development."
>He pauses.
>"And, I somehow don't believe you have the time to gather all these plants yourself at the moment. Am I right?"
>When push came to shove, a legion of automatons would disagree quite vehemently with Fine Point.
>But of course, he cannot know that.
"That's... true. Our days are pretty packed for the foreseeable future."
>The light stallion gives you a warm smile.
>"Then let me, no, let us help you."
>You inhale.
"That's... a lot of stacked favours."
>Fine point shakes his head.
>"No favours needed. Bubbly and I would do that for free. No charges, and no catch."
>You hesitate for a second, as you can hardly believe what you are hearing.
>Yet Fine Point does not appear to be jesting in the slightest.
>He is completely serious about this.
>Of course, pony communities tend to be very accommodating in general, so it is not unusual for neighbours to support each other.
>But this goes much further than you would have expected.
>And #deca.mare reacts to the offer whilst you consider what to say.
>She grabs the phial and speaks up.
>"Thank you, Fine Point. This means a lot to me."
>The Unicorn stallions smiles warmly.
>"That's all the gratitude we need."
>You chime in.
"Still, that's really generous of you."
>>
>>42900935
>He shrugs, but keeps smiling.
>"If you say so. To me, it's a part of my profession. My concern is the wellbeing of the ponies in this village."
>He turns to #deca.mare and eyes her barrel.
>"Upcoming residents included. So, after your brief visit yesterday, I was thinking to myself. And me offering you foaling aid was fine, but not good enough. I could do much more with my knowledge."
>He stretches his body.
>"And between us, it's a routine I'm glad to follow. It gives me a structure to work with."
>You clear your throat.
"Wait, you don't have a daily structure yourself?"
>Fine point chuckles.
>"Of course, but it isn't as rigid and packed as the day-to-day habits of the Earth ponies. They're farmers, so they always have to tend to something on the fields. We work when our skills are needed somewhere. It's far more dynamic and less predictable."
>He chuckles again.
>"Especially in my case. My craft is usually required when something has gone wrong in advance. Or when something... special is about to happen. But between those cases, there are times when I don't have that much to do."
>His gaze briefly wanders to #deca.mare to illustrate his point.
>And you nod with a slight grin of your own.
"I get it, the typical healer thing. Everyone is grateful to have someone like you around. But they're glad when your services aren't needed."
>Fine Point shrugs again.
>"I see you understand."
>He pauses briefly.
>"Anyway, long story short, Bubbly and I are happy to do this for you, completely free of charge. Provided you want our assistance, of course."
>Well, the answer to that is not hard to guess.
>And #deca.mare is swift to speak it out.
>"Of course we do. Every little bit helps."
>The stallion is visibly glad to hear that.
>"Very well. I'll tell Bubbly when she wakes up."
>He takes a breath, and you use the chance to ask something.
"Is there anything we need to know about the consumption?"
>Fine Point slowly shakes his head.
>"No. This is simple powder. The dosage is meant to suffice for a day."
>He turns to #deca.mare.
>"How you want to consume it is up to you. It can be taken all at once or in smaller amounts. On its own, or mixed with food. The effect is the same."
>You nod.
"Alright. Simple enough."
>Fine Point goes on after a short pause.
>"Well, that's all I came for. If you have no further questions, I'll be on my way."
>You reply at once.
"I don't."
>Fine Point and you turn to #deca.mare.
>And she shakes her head as well.
>"Me neither. But thank you, Fine Point. This is a noble thing to do."
>The stallion appears to be lightly flattered by her words, but he comes up with a humble reply on the spot.
>"And I thank you for entrusting me with this task."
>He approaches #deca.mare and the two perform a hoof bump.
>"Come over tomorrow for the next dosage, whenever you have the time. And bring the empty phial. We'll swap between the two every day to clean them frequently."
>>
>>42900937
>#deca.mare smiles and nods.
>"I will. See you tomorrow."
>With that said, Fine Point turns to you and stands still for a second.
>"Now, if memory serves..."
>He interrupts his own sentence to rear up.
>The light Unicorn presents himself to you in the traditional greeting pose of the Pegasi as he stands on his hind legs.
>Minus the wings, for obvious reasons.
>And you see it for what it is.
>A gesture of genuine respect.
>You grin before you do the same.
>The two of you bump into one another, chest against chest, and each of you gives the other a little thrust to measure your strength in the old ways of the Pegasi.
>And said friendly measuring contest is eventually tipping in your favour as you gradually push the stallion back.
>Fine Point is in decent shape, no doubt about it, yet he cannot keep up with someone who has been around Pegasi for many decades.
>Plus, he cannot rely on any wings to stabilise his pose either.
>So you quickly decide to go easy on him before he might keel over and hurt himself in the comparatively narrow corridor.
>Fine Point and you conclude the greeting after a short while.
>And the light Unicorn smiles again as soon as he stands on four hooves once more.
>"Yes, Pegasi are indeed a lively bunch."
>Once more, it sounds like an objective observation and a light compliment to you.
>You hear no irony or anything else of that sort.
>Fine Point is honestly saying what he is thinking.
>Nothing more, nothing less.
>"It has been a pleasure. See you soon."
>You grin in response.
"See you."
>At last, he turns to Firefly and Sky Squall, still smiling politely.
>"By the way, this offer extends to you too. Making two daily dosages is no problem at all."
>The tone of the stallion does not change in the slightest as he speaks, yet the implications behind his words are not exactly subtle.
>After all, it is obvious that he would not make such an offer for no reason.
>But at the same time, he does not specify what exactly said reason might be.
>Which leaves a lot of room for speculation.
>And both of the Pegasi notice it too.
>They exchange a few glances before Sky Squall finally manages to give him an answer.
>"Thank... you. Much appreciated."
>A pause.
>"We'll reach out to you. You know, when we need it."
>Fine Point nods gracefully and opens the door with his magic grip.
>He then takes his leave and closes the door behind him.
>The four of you remain silent for a moment before Firefly speaks up.
>"Do you think he saw us?"
>Sky Squall draws a deep breath.
>"I don't know. Our hiding place was good. He shouldn't have. I haven't seen him or traces of any others, at least."
>Firefly responds.
>"Me neither. But that doesn't have to say much. Unicorns are... full of surprises."
>The Pegasus stallion nods stiffly.
>"That they are."
>He turns to you.
>"I suppose you don't know either, right?"
>You shrug.
"No idea, I wasn't there, and I can't look into his head."
>>
>>42900940
>Well, you could, but everyone understands what you want to convey.
"Fine Point didn't use any spells in here to scan you, as far as I can tell. So there is that. But he acted like he suspected something."
>Firefly responds.
>"Suspected, or noticed? His senses are unusually well honed. Maybe he doesn't need any magic for his observations."
>She turns to #deca.mare and points at her barrel.
>"He felt your foal without using his horn."
>This is a valid argument.
>Fine Point is an astute observer.
>So the possibility that he might have stumbled upon their all nightly activities is indeed fairly likely.
>But once more, you can only shrug.
"Maybe, maybe not. I don't know."
>You pause and start to smile.
"But does it really matter much? Even if he saw you, which isn't certain, I doubt it will lead to anything. Fine Point doesn't strike me as someone who spreads gossip on purpose."
>Sky Squall sighs.
>"I suppose. The thought doesn't sit well with me though."
>#deca.mare taps Sky Squall on the back.
>"Do not worry about it, Sky. There is one thing I can promise you. Fine Point is trustworthy."
>The stallion takes a deep breath.
>"Fine. That's not the answer I hoped for. But it's good enough, coming from you."
>A moment of silence follows.
>Then Sky Squall shakes his head.
"Sky? What's up?"
>The Pegasus almost chuckles.
>"I caught myself thinking something stupid."
>You do not have to ask for details, as he is willing to share them directly.
>"I figured it would have some advantages if he knew something. He could tell us if... it worked."
>Assuming Fine Point could already say that.
>Which, considering his degree of magic acumen, is not an impossibility.
>You tilt your head and grin.
>"You want Fine Point to ruin the surprise for you?"
>This reply makes Sky Squall think.
>"No. You're right. Dumb idea."
>Sky Squall stretches his body.
>"Well, I think it's time to get started."
>You blink.
"Oh? I thought you wanted to take a quick nap before we begin."
>Sky Squall laughs.
>"Not anymore. That... talk woke me up."
>Firefly agrees.
>"Me too."
>So you nod.
"Okay. Breakfast then. Get the food, I'll grab the bowls."
>And so you start the day properly.
>The next step on your path to settle in properly.

For now. Also, I wonder how much can they automate. I mean if they were asked for a mundane task which takes a lot of time but does not require any interaction, can they just switch the proxies to drone mode and let the a simple automation take care of it? Like if they were asked to deliver letters and it takes a few hours to fly there.
>You do not know for sure who is coming
Anon must be really tired then. Since he did not knock or anything, the only pony who could know he is standing there silently is #deca.mare.
>for our album
Can't remember when was the last time the album was mentioned. Been a while.
>given your lack of cameras
I'm pretty sure there are at least a satellite or two taking photos constantly above them. Plus whatever the proxies see goes through a computer in some form. So there might not be a camera in the traditional sense, but there is a few which can be used to photograph things.
>when you take your group picture
Would have been funny.
>spreads her wings without any prior warning
There is the pose.
>wraps one wing
Ah, so not a show off pose. I'm surprised! Plus she hugged Anon!
>it is definitely an organic one
At least as organic as it could get.
>Save it the way it is.
Save it? I would have said "keep it". I'm pretty sure every single moment in #deca.mare's life is saved in some form.
>your limbs lack any appendages
Oh, sleeping and waking up as the proxy? Odd.
>you do not actually sleep in the proxy
Just as I assumed.
>No. It's fine. Go back to sleep.
Huh, again odd.
>But we'll be back before dawn.
Seems like the new body gave them youth energy.
>have fun
Do they really need to sneak away in the middle of the night for this? I'm sure they have a few hours free in the middle of the day on a cloud.
>Guilty as charged.
And probably guilty with not severing the connection to the proxy too. Hm, why would she wants Anon to know whatever Sky and Firefly is doing?
>No, Anon. I did not.
Oh. Well okay then, why didn't she do it?
>Nothing indecent has happened here
True, it's happening in the other room or something.
>soil a good bedding in the process
Is Firefly a squirter or something? Or does Sky not have a long enough dick to cum deep inside so it does not drip out? Or does Firefly intentionally pushes it out afterwards? Also, don't they just sleep on hay or something? At least during the first few days.
>pointlessly ruin some straw
It's not pointless!
>don't wake up the neighbours

>would only spoil their mood

Washing the smell away.
>Don't worry about us. We'll manage.
Manage to fall asleep! If they decide to simulate that aspect. I'm certain they could just flip a switch to feel refreshed. Their mind does not need to sleep. The proxy does not need to rest either.
>groaning sounds
The "We'll manage" lasted until this long.
>There's something I'd like to discuss.
Does he finds the lewd noises coming from a cloud disturbing?
>I'm here to help you.
There are no fertility issues.
>complete mix of all the major nutrients
Huh. Odd that they have these already figured out. I mean on the theoretical level of "nutrients" and not just food in general.
>easy to collect the plants when you know where to look
Doesn't he grow them himself?
>everything you need to ensure a normal development
Does she need anything in the first few months? In those the embryo is nothing more than a tiny blob.
>legion of automatons would disagree
They don't even need to gather them. I'm pretty sure #deca.mare already set up an underground facility as a backup to support them if required.
>a lot of stacked favours
I doubt they know much about actual nutrients.
>I could do much more with my knowledge. He stretches his body
Someone is bragging about their knowledge.
>when I don't have that much to do
I find it odd that he is not helping the farmers with their tasks whenever he can. I mean like any other earth pony would. Just he does not venture far so he is easy to find when needed.
>meant to suffice for a day
So, he is going to visit them daily.
>he turns to Firefly and Sky Squall, still smiling politely
Soon he has to bring two vials a day.
>this offer extends to you too
Heh. Maybe they were loud enough to be heard.
>what exactly said reason might be
Maybe one of the clouds produced strange rain.

>Also, I wonder how much can they automate.
Technically all of it, as they could of course let the machines do everything without getting discovered by anyone. But the whole point of their life there is not to do that. They want to do everything themselves and only rely on backup when things are about to get patchy.
>Can't remember when was the last time the album was mentioned. Been a while.
I figured this might be an issue as time goes on. That's why I made a list in my notes right from the start. The last mentioned photos were taken in the quarters when Sky Squall was using Anon's proxy because he had no body of his own at the time. And indeed, it has been a while. But the album is still a thing.
>but there is a few which can be used to photograph things
Also, #deca.mare can generate the image accurately, based on the environmental data and everything. It's technically not a photo in the traditional sense, but it depicts a scene that really happened faithfully.
>Save it? I would have said "keep it".
True. Good point.
>Seems like the new body gave them youth energy.
Pretty much. That was also partially mentioned in a previous chapter.
>I'm sure they have a few hours free in the middle of the day on a cloud.
Well, not as much in the early stages of their moving in phase, given that they have a lot of stuff on their plate. Also, it's probably better to do some things in the cover of the night, rather than in broad daylight, even when suitable clouds might be available.
>Oh. Well okay then, why didn't she do it?
Basically just for fun. To let the scene play out as it presented itself.
>Is Firefly a squirter or something?
>Or does Sky not have a long enough dick to cum deep inside so it does not drip out?
>Or does Firefly intentionally pushes it out afterwards?
Well, I didn't really want to go deeper into the details of that, but now that these questions were posed, I would summarily answer all three with a no. Their mating habits are equine in nature and follow very much so (most of) the same principles, albeit under ideal circumstances. In essence, I would argue that they only really differ in their longevity, as Equestrian ponies have no evolutionary reasons for speedy ruts, meaning that they can easily afford longer pleasure times. Other than that though, they do it like regular horses.
[Cont.]

>>42911420
And considering that #deca.mare designed the pony bodies in this setting, she was practically bound to make sure that everything "fits" well, as it doesn't make sense for her to shape a flawed anatomy in any aspect. If anything, the ponies in this world would possess more inherent, for the lack of a better term, "safety mechanisms" to reduce the potential for complications. But judging from what I know about equine reproduction, that's not exactly a clean affair, even in the best of times, and under ideal circumstances. Spillages of different sorts tend to happen every now and then.
>Also, don't they just sleep on hay or something? At least during the first few days.
Yes. Since this is their first "mattress" for the time being, however, they sure as hell do not want to risk staining it when it can be avoided with ease.
>Either they are more vocal while doing it than I thought or they live much closer to the neighbours than I thought.
Anon made a (semi-joke) in this regard. He knows that they're probably not going to get the attention of the whole village with their number. But on the other hand, they have developed a certain reputation in their previous life. And they could do so again in theory.
>>42910001
>Or even tap into the proxy's vision feed.
I'm not sure what Anon or #deca.mare would think if they were to enter the feed of either of the two Pegasi whilst they are busy with one another. Not to mention the whole breach of privacy issue.
>There is basically anything and everything they can do about it.
Well yes. But they have not many option within reasonable and civil means.
>Spoiler
Oh boy. That would lead to trouble on every level.
>At this rate Anon will become a pony.
The usual disclaimer in this regard aside, not really. It's basically not much more than a far more technologically developed equivalent of someone falling asleep with a VR headset or something. It has literally no tangible impact on Anon himself.
>The "issues with living together" thing I mentioned in one of my previous comment seems to be coming true.
I would say to a certain limited degree, yeah. But it's generally fairly low-level stuff.
>I'm certain they could just flip a switch to feel refreshed.
Technically, but keep in mind that they want to maintain to their natural rhythm. A little bit of fatigue isn't going to change that.
>Odd that they have these already figured out.
Is it really though? Fine Point is a Unicorn with a very strong emphasis on advanced medical screening spells and healing tricks. His level of insight into a pony body is almost without equal. If someone is bound to know anything about this stuff, it's ponies like him.
[Cont.]
>>
>>42911423
>Doesn't he grow them himself?
I suppose it wouldn't be feasible to create a garden with plants for any and all treatments, especially when the required types grow in abundance nearby. A garden of that sort would make sense for specific specimen that can only be found in other or very remote areas, which basically renders "in the field" harvesting impossible.
>Does she need anything in the first few months?
Well, she should at the very least have a diet with enough variety. It's not like she's doing anything critical by eating the food they receive from the Earth ponies, as they do absolutely grow quality produce. But it is, in her current situation, not an ideal solution. Hence Fine Point's initiative.
>I'm pretty sure #deca.mare already set up an underground facility as a backup to support them if required.
Pretty much. But in my eyes the automatons make for a better image here.
>I find it odd that he is not helping the farmers with their tasks whenever he can.
It's not stated here, but I envision him to perform his own studies when his help isn't needed. He isn't doing nothing, but he does not have a very rigid schedule.
>>42910004
Did they even need to hide?
Not necessarily, in all due likelihood. (Unless nosy Unicorns are around.)
>Can't they tell?
They could. But if they check it out via the systems, it would be "cheating".

>But the whole point of their life there is not to do that.
If I were a god, I would abuse having the ability to fast travel. Especially when I have a whole planet to manage. They still have to manage a few things, so somewhere they need time to do that. And while the proxy is flying to or from somewhere they could do the planet management stuff.
>#deca.mare can generate the image accurately
Yes I know. But they do have sensors which can be used/abused as a camera.
>they have a lot of stuff on their plate
Only as much as they put on it. Nothing is making them hurry this much. Plus if you have looked at any village persons life (in a country where there are no jobs, or in any country a few hundred years ago), they mostly do nothing. Life was much much slower back then.
>Oh. Well okay then, why didn't she do it?
You know that I write these as I read right? I only read up to the point where I'm making the comment, and even if it's answered a sentence later, I don't delete the comment (okay there are few exceptions but I don't do it often). I know (now) that 2 sentence later this question was answered, but I did not when I only read up to that particular sentence and made the comment.
>sex
Seems like you completely misunderstood what I was trying to get at. If there is explicit reason, sex does not have to be a messy thing where everything gets covered in cum, sweat and other body fluids. Nor does it have to be a loud thing.
>equivalent of someone falling asleep with a VR headset or something
You banging again on the ptfg door. This is why I pointed this out. I don't mind, but a few vocal others do.
>they want to maintain to their natural rhythm
The sneaking out in the middle of the night and coming back in the morning will surely help with that. At least if their plan is to sleep all day.
>advanced medical
I would still say they know too much compared to other aspects of their lives/knowledge. This is only the 3rd generation of ponies. If you go back even 300 years in human history, almost no medical knowledge applies to today. Same goes for even basic things like growing crops. The nutrients we know now were not a thing a 100-150 years ago. In other words, it's fine if Fine Point shows up with something what with todays knowledge would seem lunatic, but if he shows up with something what could easily fit the level of knowledge of the group then that stands out. "I collected these herbs because it's good for you" versus "I mixed these for you because it contains the basic nutrients which the growing embryo requires". Seems too advanced, while they are sleeping on hay. Even glassware stands out. We only figured out proper glassware a few hundred years ago.

That's a pinfeather, a newly grown feather. New feathers start out as keratin rods as the structure grows inside. Eventually, the keratin shell will dry out and fall off when the feather inside is fully formed, though the keratin often gets stuck.
Birds remove the stuck keratin during preening. A human handler would usually remove the keratin sheaths on hard-to-reach places like the neck or head, if the bird does not have a mate or other companion to remove it for them.
It is inadvisable to remove the keratin sheaths from the wings or tail, as these are erogenous zones for birds. The bird can remove those on their own.

Handling the wings or tail too much will get the bird sexually aroused and will result in the bird perceiving you as their mate, which will stress them out as their courtship rituals are not reciprocated by humans. Eventually, the bird will start stress eating and plucking all of its feathers out as it essentially gets too horny and feels like it's getting teased and cucked by its human handler.

With your pegasus, however, fondling her wings by preening and petting them should be fine as long as the sex comes right after

>If I were a god, I would abuse having the ability to fast travel. [...]
I'd say it depends on the context. If it's, for example, a situation in which the proxy has to travel for half an hour or so, and something else happens on the planet that requires their attention, then sure. Letting the proxy fly on "autopilot" is definitely a viable tool to use in such a case. If they do it merely for the sake of convenience though, then it would, at least partially, counteract the purpose of why they settled on the surface again in the first place.
>Yes I know. But they do have sensors which can be used/abused as a camera.
True. Either method should work to reach the goal of having a realistic image.
>Nothing is making them hurry this much.
The pregnancy does, kind of. It gives them roughly eleven months to get the stuff done since they would not want to raise a foal in a ramshackle house. Sure, they could use shortcuts if they were to miss that goal by a long shot, but at first they want to try it on their own. It's an intended part of the experience.
>Plus if you have looked at any village persons life (in a country where there are no jobs, or in any country a few hundred years ago), they mostly do nothing. Life was much much slower back then.
Interesting that you say this, as this doesn't align with what I have heard. From what I've been told, village life during the Medieval, Renaissance, and even the early industrial times were pretty harsh, with six to seven work days per week (depending on whether you could afford to attend Sunday ceremonies in churches or not), working hours from literal dawn to dusk, and with very little time in between since the people were dependant on garnering enough material for their survival on top of paying their tithes to whatever local authority was established in the area.
It didn't sound like people had much time to do nothing since they generally couldn't afford it. And that was during phases of peace. At war, it got several times worse, not even counting absolute travesties like the Thirty Year War and the Black Death. But to be fair, most of this stems from my school education, and it is very likely that it isn't, shall we say, comprehensive knowledge. The education system here has seen better days and it wouldn't be the first time that it didn't hit the mark.

>Seems like you completely misunderstood what I was trying to get at. If there is explicit reason, sex does not have to be a messy thing where everything gets covered in cum, sweat and other body fluids. Nor does it have to be a loud thing.
I got that. I just wanted to point out that equine mating appears to have a higher chance of becoming a tad messy on top of being not so subtle to begin with, hence the "risk".
>You banging again on the ptfg door. This is why I pointed this out.
I see. I have a plan to alleviate this issue, but it may still require a chapter or two until I can implement it in a way that makes sense.
>The sneaking out in the middle of the night and coming back in the morning will surely help with that.
Well, it's not like they're doing this every night. That's not intended to be the norm.
>but if he shows up with something what could easily fit the level of knowledge of the group then that stands out.
>Seems too advanced, while they are sleeping on hay.
Hm, I'll think about that. Maybe it might be a good idea to slightly rewrite this passage.
>Little is happening in the first few months which requires anything special.
Agreed. Supporting the mother with a solid foundation early on can still have its uses though, considering that some deficiencies don't appear over night. A few may take weeks or more to develop observable symptoms, in spite of them being present during said time. Fine Point's powder is a precaution matter, simply to avoid this scenario before it may potentially become a problem.

Also, since this is going to be my last post in 2025, happy new year. See you all in 2026.

>The pregnancy does, kind of.
They don't have to finish the renovation of the whole house. If the major things are taken care of and there is one or two room in a livable state its more than enough. And that does not seem like a lot of work.
>early industrial times
As of now the story takes place way before that.
>were pretty harsh
I'm not doubting that. But it was harsh for different reasons.
>six to seven work days per week
The weekend/days off is a modern concept. All days of the week were workdays. Even "leisure days" were just a different name for a specific day where they did not work, instead they went and trade in larger cities.
The modern concept of a weekend is thanks to Henry Ford in the 1920s.
>had much time to do nothing
Let me reword this a bit: they did have things to do, but no hard deadlines like today (except for a few fields, like bridge construction, but even those were not hard deadlines). So they could easily escape in the middle of the day and have a little romp in the clouds.
Literarily take a look at some obscure traveler's video blog. One which visits developing countries and rural places. There are people doing nothing everywhere. They do have things to do, but life is simply not as fast there. They talk/chat a lot, watch the nature, etc. I too visited one such place. One particular woman woke up at like 4 am to tend to the animals, but whenever she was done she just observed the others, chatted, and did small things. Nobody was rushing to finish the tasks. There was no pressure. The wife of one of my friend lives a similar lifestyle. Works 4 hours a day, but besides that does not do a lot. She is constantly busy doing something don't get me wrong, but there is no pressure/stress from these tasks (besides the obvious pressure to tend to the house/kids/self). Comparing this to his husband, who also always doing something and stresses a lot due to arbitrary deadlines and overbooking himself to the point of nothing gets finished.
>not like they're doing this every night
So far they have done it 100% of the nights (2/2).

>And that does not seem like a lot of work.
Well, perhaps not on its own, but they have to do that on top of establishing themselves within the community, given that they also take up weather support roles and such to help the farmers. So the four have to split their attention out of sheer necessity, even when either of these tasks are not very complex in their nature.
>they did have things to do, but no hard deadlines like today [...]
I think I'll revise that one line spoken by Fine Point then. So that it makes more sense in regard to this backdrop.
>So far they have done it 100% of the nights (2/2).
I don't know where you got that from though. They spent the first night in the cellar of the Earth pony family and slept the whole night until they were woken up shortly before the break of dawn. There was nothing going on at that time.
>Just to remind you, lobotomy was a thing not too long ago, and hysteria was considered an illness.
That's fair. But I have no plans to include extremes like these. The way I see it, this isn't something that ponies would delve into, or what Anon and #deca.mare would allow to be practiced, even if they would.

Made a few slight changes in regard to the discussion in this thread. Again, don't get surprised by the update notification on Ponepaste. I also found a few format mistakes and corrected them accordingly.

In chapter 181.2. the line:

>Save it the way it is.
Changes to:
>Keep it the way it is.
I've got to agree that it does indeed sound better in this context.

And in chapter 182 I adjusted the lines of Fine Point to make him sound less out of place.

>"A complete mix of all the major nutrients you are likely to need in the coming months. In a reasonable dosage too."
>He inhales.
>"It's my personal formula, created specifically for expecting mares. The powder is fresh, too. Everything comes from a good selection of local plants and herbs."
Changes to:
>"A mixture. It will help you in the coming months."
>He inhales.
>"It's my personal formula, created specifically for expecting mares. The powder is carefully dosed and fresh, too. Everything comes from a good selection of local plants and herbs."

Same with the comment on nutrients.

>"You see, foals are a great thing, but they're demanding and hungry for nutrients. Nutrients that a one-sided diet doesn't provide in satisfactory quantities."
Changes to:
>"You see, foals are a great thing, but they're demanding and become hungry as they grow. Especially in the later stages. And a one-sided diet like yours doesn't provide everything they need in satisfactory quantities."
That should be more fitting for the locale without changing the meaning of what was said.

If anyone else has a feedback for this or other things, please let me know.

>I don't know where you got that from though.
From the "So, I did it again.", I assumed this is the second night they spent in the house.
>include extremes like these
That was not my point. I meant to point out that even 75-100 years ago healthcare was completely different and would be considered barbaric today. They know so little compared to today.

AI will generate mares faster and better than any artist thanks to investments in the AI Industry. The fact that you will no longer need to commission a artist to get what you want is revolutionary for getting images of mares.

ah, it was a blanket. makes sense now.
>>The underside of the wings should not be visible
they're... not?
>>contradicting detail on RDs nose does not match the shape, look at his old art to see the way he would actually handle it.
great, well im not too sure, but maybe the reason why he nose looks different is because his artstyle changed a bit over the years?
>>RDs eyebrows merge into eyes, which also merge into the mane.
ok. go tell him that
>>Highlights are 2 different styles on the same face, this isn't even anime-eyes through hair but a shit immitation
great. i can't explain that.
i didn't make this.
>>Human noses do not have excessive creaselines of skinfolds and his hand drawn art doesn't have this
ok. go tell him that
>>Shoulder completely missing where RDs face is
hmm, okay the physics aren't all there i guess. go tell him that.
>>Nonsensical line that doesn't read as 'pillow' cloth that was colored as 3rd wing
it was a blanket apparently
>>>42927090
>>Bangs are a disaster of lines looping back on itself in 2 different shapes (curves vs spikes)
contextually speaking, this was after she got a bit frazzled in the story. now she's all hot and bothered from the wing massage. i suppose a frazzled mane would look reasonable here.
>>Hand appears out of nowhere, where is the rest raj?
there is a beige-sleeved arm behind her wing.
>>chest fluff looks like mashed up squiggles and scribbbles
frazzled as well i presume, but you can go ask the artist why.
>>Shit handling of feather detail placement far worse than his actual skill
ok. go tell him that
>>>42927111
>>Absolute-ass detail on the feathers with slop nervous squiggle lines
ok. go tell him that
>>Shirt is nonsensical
ok. go tell him that
>>Mane looks like shit, Tail especially looks bad
ok. go tell him that
>>Cutiemark looks like shit
looks fine to me.
>>42927257
Obviously, i know there is nothing i can say to convince you otherwise. If you want better answers for what questions you might have, i can't give them to you. i did not make these.
You should ask the artist himself for more clarity on these perceived discrepancies.
If you really think im genning images based on his artstyle, maybe you should tell him.
This is his devianart: https://www.deviantart.com/redruin01
Send him a message and tell him that someone is using his art in an ai and is generating images that are being passed off as his handiwork.
Send a link to this very thread and go fucking ask him if he ever made these exact artworks by hand.
Maybe you could "bust" me or something. I'll be the fool.
And if redruin himself has been generating ai images and has been passing them off as art to people, then there's no better person to ask than him.

I refuse to believe redruin and mobius would go through this whole song and dance about sketching concepts and showing the stages of their art over the span of weeks if they were using AI. if they were truly using AI they could just generate a finished "product" instantly.
>>42928978
You can contact the artist through these links and ask for evidence that his work wasn't made with AI.
If you want more proof that these images exist outside of this thread, this is the chapter these works were featured in:
https://www.fimfiction.net/story/365626/5/excuses/feelings
You are free to leave a comment there as well and ask or accuse the artist if you want.
There's no point screeching on this thread that these works are AI. Currently, this whole discourse is only driven by your speculation
The only way for this discussion to reasonably continue is if you ask the artist directly for proof.
