is the 4.6 through applebloom scuffed or modified in any way? or just a simple direct model provider?
>>43031449>GLM is so much cheaper than SonnetIf I extrapolate with my Sonnet costs(divided in input/output/cache create/cache read) GLM5 would cost me 46% of what Sonnet costs and 26% of 4.6pus. That's not really too much better.Caching reducing read costs to a fifth($.2/M) instead of a tenth like sonnet($.3/M) really impacts cost.I've been using GLM for two hours now and it's really smart for a chink model. Being at 40k context it misattributes things once or twice a reply, and is unhappy with my "jp" (EN translation) format. But compared to dispy3.0 it's on a whole new level. Makes me hopeful for the opensource future. I'll never run a 1.5T model locally, but at least it's out there now, no making it disappear like they could do to claude/gpt/gemini any day.
>>43031593? its like 5x cheaper though.Input / output / cache$1 $3.20 $0.20 vs $3 $15 $0.3
>>43031596also since its open weights competition will for sure drive prices down over time.
>>43031596No, he's kinda right about it. It's "only" 3x on non-cache reads and 1.5x on cache reads. Depending on your usage patterns and how/if you cache, you can probably assume that you'll pay between 2x and 4x less overall. Which is really good, sure, but you won't see that magical 5x that's only on gens. I guess you could do better if you have very long replies on short context (and/or don't ever cache). But what he said later>no making it disappear like they could do to claude/gpt/geminiis imo even more important. Whether it's better or worse than current "meta" is arguable and subjective, but this is legitimately a very good model; better than anything we've had, say, a year ago. There's no chance of models completely vanishing if/once the bubble pops.
>>43031596Depends on your use. I run 20-30k input token on average. And those are only a bit cheaper if you look at your numbers. If you only go to 20 replies in your chat and have a lot of output compared to input you'll indeed pay closer to 5xOkay did the math. See picrel, it's my sonnet costs over the last months, about 2800 requests, extrapolated to opus/GLM (cheapest OR with caching). it's 43% instead of 46% for GLM vs Sonnet actually, but that doesn't change my point. It's a lot more if you don't cache or do small stories, but I'll gladly pay 2/4x for the quality increase in my case.
>>43031629yeah, those are like 1/3rd of my token numbers
>>43031629Nevermind I fucked up at cache creation costs.GLM for me is 34% the cost of sonnet and 20% the cost of opus. That's a lot better. Still not worth it for me but now I could understand actually going for it.
>>43031508Mfw Rarity is batshit crazy and is just using the Estrus as cover
>>43031636So based on this progress, theres about a year before we get a better model that's half the price of GLM 5?

I've been having reliability issues with my good providers. It's a constant arms race to keep them upso I don't know when/if i'll have reliable opus etcBut to get something up quickly i'm playing middlemare to some russian reposting of a chink proxy list. There's a good amount of sonnet/gemini/chinkslop models that seem reliably available. It round robins requests by model among each provider, so retry on failures until it goes through.Opus might show up but try not to be too excited - if the provider claims to have it, it'll periodically show up until it's tried and shown to still have no quota. And I don't know if prefill works or not.https://flat-boat-0dde.queengytha-clop.workers.dev/v1/status-publicbrowsing here shows all the available model and the status of each, for if you get frustrated by too many refusals and want to try something more reliable with more providersconnections are still to https://flat-boat-0dde.queengytha-clop.workers.dev/v1 in sillytavernany api key issued by sillyspoon or me directly will workWith Love,Queen Gytha

>>43037931It doesn't seem to have anything that useful.
>>43038132as expected of a SeriousTavern update these days, only the macro engine is something half decentmeanwhile I managed to add multiple new features with opus and even fixed a bug with the recursion in the lorebooks
>>43038194added a filter for activated lorebook entries, so you can quickly blacklist an entry based on the name without having to find it and disable it, it also supports multiple stringsfixed that recursion bug that wasn't activating half my lorebook because retards were ignoring the ignore budget toggleadded an API setting to have interceptors run on dry_run and reflect their changes on the chat history object on the prompt manager directly, so my summary extension can replace the messages and have accurate token counts and previewadded a debounce to lorebook name saves, because that was lagging everythingadded parsing for comment macros in WI entries so the token count is correct when you comment a big chunk of texthad the first token count not be debounced so you don't need to wait 1s for the number when it's already cachedadded a token counter for @D injected entries in the prompt manager and you can now click and see their content without needing to open the edit menuadded a refresh button for the prompt manager so I don't need to swipe for it to recalculate tokens after I change the promptwrote an entire summary extension that actually works because qvink was too buggy for meupdated the worldinfo-info extension locally with some changes so it looked better for me like visible token counts per entry, proper ordering according to injection order, handling @D injections properly, a close button, fixed the mousedown event listener that closed all the drawers if you wanted to close only the sidebarreally, 80% of these are QoL/UX features that could be done in a second but those useless devs will never bother
>>43038231depends on what specifically is causing it to lag in each case, there's multiple extremely retarded design decisions from what I saw in the code (extremely cancer code btw, I'd fix it but then I'd have even more issues pulling changes)this specific case for me was when typing the name of an entryEACH time you typed a letter it would iterate through EVERY SINGLE lorebook entry, and then re-render the entire drawer twice FOR EACH LETTER in order to align the UIthis wasn't debounced, so if you typed fast enough you were rendering everything dozens of times before the previous render was even done>Why not release it or walk people through how?I'm just a random software dev that solved most of those in 2 dayspeople who are working on an AI related piece of software that presumably have much more domain knowledge than me have no excuse not to have already done all that instead of wasting years with useless updates that make everything worse if anythingmost of my time was wasted trying to pull their useless upstream changes from staging because formatting brokewhy is none of these people using LLMs, the thing they're working on, to fix shit?
>>43038253the point is I consider it willful negligence at this point from their side and I have no interest wasting effort trying to merge my changes to masterI'd have to make an entirely different github account unrelated to my private one, separate all the changes on a per issue basis, go through their posturing about testing each one separately etc. probably have some idiot talk to me about the 'architecture' of this mess of a hackjob softwarethere's no requirement but it's obvious at this point that there's multiple parts that could be easily improved and the main devs are sitting on their asses releasing "features" that do nothing besides keeping the APIs synced when a provider breaks things
>>43030390New Menu for the visits.
>>43038274as I said, I'm not sure the lorebook lag in both our cases are the same thing, there's probably multiple causeshere's the patch file for my lorebook fix if you want it that muchhttps://litter.catbox.moe/hf6iea.patch
>>43038242>>43038258they work on what gets their dick hard, same as you and me. Also I honestly don't care for any of your fixes. I am not saying that because I mean to be spiteful, but just because neither of those sound like something I would notice in my use of ST.My own custom changes would probably cause the same (non-) reaction for most people. Just because you or I care about X, doesn't mean it's a big thing for everyone. Also ST devs do it for free, lmao.At the same time I get you. I'm super happy with my own image gen extension, but releasing it would be so much work I can't be bothered. It's tailormade for ForgeUI and overwrites native image galleries as well as the 'empty' right side of the screen. So no matter how happy I am with it, I'm not going to publish it.
>>43038298yeah exactly, but their dicks are totally useless and do nothing in my opiniondo they even use ST?I noticed this stuff because I use lorebooks a lot, they're entirely personal fixes because they broke my flowI never use image gen so I would have no interest in your extension or any changes related to thatthe microsecond you release something people seem to think you're there to provide eternal support and development for it, when the entire point of custom changes is I make it match what I want and then it can stay that way forever
>>43038316it's basically a text file with the git changesyou can use git apply [patch name].patch and git will apply the changes, or you can do it manually by reading the +/- linesdunno if anything will break for you locally though or if any needed changes are split into another commitif you don't know how to use git just copy the entire world-info.js file somewhere else before trying anything and if it breaks then paste the original version backif you have it you can just give the file to copilot and tell it to apply the changes
you'll probably need to do it manually though, pretty sure my local spacing and formatting has a different line countit's only 70 lines of changes
>>43038343yeah it's total dogshit honestly, if you increase the entry count it lags a lotamazing how for something that's not even written in react the performance is so crap

>>43038583A bit like a chat in Silly but with more dialogue than narration, and vectors that display the ponies and various poses/emotions adapted. If you do the normal start, you start with a scenario that is a bit on rails, where you meet Twilight and then visit all her friends with her before going to "Sandbox" mode, where you can visit the ponies you want and do whatever. You can also have a quick start that will bring you directly to sandbox, or an AI-generated start, where you can tell the AI what story you want before being placed into sandbox. If you do the normal start, then at the start you're not supposed to move position; you talk to Twilight until you're happy, then click quit chat to progress the story, then visit which pony you want and click quit chat once you want to visit another, etc.In sandbox mode, if you have the option activated, you can dynamically change locations or add ponies during a discussion.

>>43041811They haven't ditched filters. However, even if they'll never openly admit to it if they want their model to be usable by the average person they'll have to compromise in terms of safety. The fact that they have to compete with xAI, OpenAI and now Google means that they can't afford for their AI to just the "safest" anymore.

Shit, uh...I need help.Started up GeminiCLI to hook into Silly, but based on the Google response, I guess Gemini 2.5 Pro isn't available anymore?Does anyone know if there's a way to use Gemini 3 for free yet?Literally need this for a college class since the prof just gives us a bunch of prompts to throw in a chatbot, and I was using Silly + 2.5 Pro since I already had it set up.
Do (you) plan on permanently using AI for the purposes you use it now, or is it just a temporary crutch?>Skjuve et al's study found that chatbot relationships may have a positive effect on users' wellbeing.[7] De Freitas et al ran several studies on the effect of chatbots on loneliness, consistently finding evidence suggesting that interaction with chatbots reduces loneliness in users: It was found that existing chatbot users used AI to alleviate loneliness, having an AI companion consistently reduced loneliness over the course of a week, and reductions in loneliness could be explained by chatbot performance—and specifically whether it was able to make users feel heard.[1https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_intimacy
>>43041830>they can't afford for their AI to just the "safest" anymoreanon they literally removed the prefill from Opus to do exactly that when no one would have criticized them for keeping it and they could have done thousands of plausible seeming safety measures that wouldn't have come at our expense. whatever interests they have that might overlap with ours clearly doesn't outweigh their misguided and pointless pursuit of safety

Putting {{lastMessage}} in it can also sometimes avoid that since the model continues directly from the last input.I heard that putting Prompt Post-Processing to>Single user message (no tools)helps with that, but I never tested it.You can also modify/cut outputs to remove that so the model learns after a while to vary the starts, or ask it OOC to stop doing that.

>>43030380>>43040010>>43039768Apparently chatgpt-4o-latest is being removed today from the API. The 13th was for the official interface. So last chance if you want to chat with the model one final time.
>>43045362RIP for real.
Writing greetings entirely based off the perspective of the card (character/scenario) is definitely always better than from {{user}}'s perspective, right?
>>43045477If you can, yes, since it both minimizes the chance of the model acting for you later (even if it's easy to avoid with a preset) and also because it's always better to let the player always act or decide who/what/etc. he does without you writing for him.Still, if it's minimal or if it's necessary for you to do this for the card to work, then it's not catastrophic or that huge of a problem either.
>>43045477I like it because I can play with the POV I want in this case (2nd or 3rd), but I also played plenty of cards that forced a "you" in the greetings.
>>43045477Depends what you intend for the card/greeting, but in general yes. It makes your intros much more flexible for the user.
>>43045477Maybe a nitpick but I'd say it's more about avoiding what you don't want it to do. So no talking/acting for {{user}}. The greeting being neutral observer or in {{char}}'s perspective or something else completely is all fine, it's not like one of those is strictly "better" than the others.

>>43046027>>43046033Just did some quick tests since I don't have that much time.It was kind of obvious, but prefill is also gone from this one.NSFW is easy with a small preset.I could have been lucky, but on all my swipes, the model avoided starting with>{{char}}or>{{char}}'sOtherwise, the prose is classic Claude. What would need to be tested more is if it's also a bit less positivity-pilled like Opus 4.6 and if the context is better.Opus 4.6 also has a tendency to produce longer messages by default, but it doesn't seem to be the case here.
>>43046062>prefill is also gonehahahahaha, and just like that all anthropic models are useless
>>43046068Prefill is going to dissappear for every SOTA model pretty soon, because it's "too dangerous". OAI did it, anthropic's now doing it, next is gemini.

>>43046100That simply allows you to put words at the start of the model's next answer so it believes it's the one that came up with them.It can be used in a lot of ways:>Anti-filterWhile I don't like how prefills are often reduced only to that in some discussions, there is no denying that it's one of the most powerful tools to bypass the filter or make some models really go wild if you make them say depravity or that they are alright with everything. It's still easy to do NSFW on Claude, but it still sucks to lose an easy tool if future models are more strict.>Instruction followingLarping as the model to say it will do something is often way more powerful than just asking or instructing in other fields of a preset. It's not always needed, but it can be a really powerful tool here too if you observe a model doesn't always respect what you asked it.>Continuing an output that had a great start but a shitty endingJust put the start of the output in the prefill and swipe. Each swipe will continue from it, and maybe one will have a way better finish.https://desuarchive.org/mlp/thread/43021323/#43023600>Prose/WritingThere were already several posts about that, but putting human writing that breaks what the model usually outputs or filling it with a lot of good/human writing in the prefill can make it write in an unusual way that distances itself from the typical model prose.https://desuarchive.org/mlp/thread/42915806/#42920737https://desuarchive.org/mlp/thread/42932659/#q42938766Talked about it here:https://desuarchive.org/mlp/thread/42932659/#q42939043

Write editor instrutions into normal text input box, click button, AI gets the current AI post as a 'draft', plus my instructions. The output comes out as a swipe to the original. It sounds like it's good if you want to squeeze the last 5% of performance out of it, but in turn requires constant adjustment instead of tweaking it slightly every few hundred messages.Quoting one of your quoted posts:>Opus... at its best if you either prefilled it with human writing or if your context had a lot of what I would call good messagesI just aim for the good messages part. Context poisoning is death for prose. I'm 100% on sonnet/opus though, so maybe that's why I don't really need it.While we're at it, any writer suggestions? >>43042060>whatever interests they have that might overlap with ours clearly doesn't outweigh their misguided and pointless pursuit of safetyNever said it did, I agree with you. Their goal is to maximize "safety" without compromising usability too much. Most people didn't use prefills (I'm willing to bet 90% of requests with prefill were for ERP) so it was something safe for them to remove, especially now that they're focusing mostly on being a codefag assistant. That doesn't change the fact that for now, they have to accept that too much focus on safety makes their model less usable.

>>43047984I really could not stand all that shit. I could not imagine how people prefer Claude over even Gemini when it keeps writing so many isms. So many fucking times. It's absolutely rage-inducing.
>>43048044I personally find it easier to avoid the -isms with Claude if you put a bit of work into the context at first and by using prefill.Gemini was a bit too trigger-happy with the "It's not X, it's Y" and some other -isms I find annoying during my tests, but I would need to spend more time with it.In the end, you do need to tard wrangle all current models.
>>43048053Also, mixing both can be good too.
>>43048053In my case, Gemini always gave me results with variety and hardly ever fell into -isms compared to Claude. >>43049273On PPP?Weird, I remember testing it a lot. I hope I didn't break it somehow with an update. How tokens are counted is a bit wonky on the Ren'Py version, so maybe it's that or the prompt if dynamic location and dynamic characters are enabled and you have a lot, since they are sent to the model. You can see in the log files if your context is cut or not to see if it's working or not, or try with a low one. Deepseek just can't get scenes flowing properly and likes to wrap things up way before I'm ready. Also, I can't decide what temperature to put it at. I had Gemini at a clean 0.9 and it worked great while with Deepseek I've gone way under and over and can't find a good sweet spot (I'm playing the VN btw)
>>43049989for cheap models glm 5 is FAR better than deepseek.
>>43049989why are you paypigging on chinkslop when we have several proxies?
>>43050030Because I'm retarded. I put $10 into back in November because I just got into all this. I was using a free trial of Gemini that lasted me a long while until I nearly ran out. Sillytavern filtered the fuck out of me so I stick with the VN but got sick of Gemini giving me error messages whenever I played late in the evening (Indians woke up). Now I'm out of free tokens from the free trial and I'm just trying to burn through Deepseek money. I haven't looked at the proxies because I haven't bothered figuring out how. this is the part where you tell me how extremely easy it is and that I'm stupid
>>43050030personally I've been building up logs as to not be a worthless leech
>>43050054Unironically use Risu if you want to use a more "standard" front end, it's slightly more limited as you won't be able to use plug-ins, but it's way easier to use and has some stuff of it's own.For proxies themselves... You gotta read the threads.
>>43050092Nah, I'm happy with the VN. Only downside is that I can't play with random character cards I've seen. I can at least edit information about a character myself by going into the files of the VN. As for proxies, I'm not even going to bother to ask. If it's complicated or requires me to download some github extension I'm going to pass even if I'm spoonfed. I had trouble setting up the VN in itself using a legitimate API key so fuck making things anymore complicated for myself
