I wish generals were full of oc and not just image dumps. For as much as you guys complain about every thing being talked about to death, there're multiple good ideas I see get brought up once or twice and then never executed. In the 10+ years of this fandom, so many things have just never been put to paper or given life. Everyone just kind of watches and does nothing and the people who do make stuff only stick to the most generic unoriginal slop. We have a few *good* popular one off animations and songs but that's it. The rest of everything that's popular is kinda mediocre or overrated. Even certain big name stays here have 0 big animations or other similar media attached to them. No one has done anything big with a lot of the stuff here in 10+ years. Most of it lives as a bunch of fan art no one looks at anymore and a few greentexts.

I left the fandom shortly after season 2 and recently came back. Was wondering what the consensus on the movie was here specifically and even more curious about what reactions were like back in 2017.

>>43114205I kind of got the vibe that the characters were written based on earlier seasons and mostly felt OOC for being post season 7. Season 6-7 also had a handful of OOC moments, so I just kind of went with it. Worst parts of it to me is half the mane 6 don't really get to do anything. Anthro cat guy also kind of felt like he got plucked from dofus and doesn't really fit with the other established races(for some reason I don't mind the anthro birds though). I guess I'm also curious if people liked the redesigns since they were pretty jarring to me at the start, but they started to grow on me and I like how squishy they looked.
