What’s the difference between a beginner guitar and a Vandenberg? Does the beginner guitar have less strings or something?
>>
>>121507001
Diminishing returns begin at $600 and really become a big deal after $1000. There is a 0% chance that $3000 guitar is any better than just a $1000 charvel with the same features. To answer the first question it's the build quality and hardware. The bridge will be shitty, the pickups shitty, and attention to detail will be shitty in comparison. The frets will feel rough at the edges of the neck, the finish will be plasticy feeling, the pots (volume and tone knobs) will get dust in them and sound scratchy sooner, the tuners will go out of tune faster. The general tolerances will be worse. Things like this. It's like that with everything. A $20 flannel shirt will be made of flannel but they won't take the time to align the pattern so it is symmetrical between the buttons and on the sleeves and on the pockets, and the stitching will be sloppier, and the material will feel cheaper, and it will have seam issues when you dry it where the whole bottom will wrinkle because they didn't align the weave at the hem. It's still a functional shirt but it would definitely be worth it IF you have the money to buy an LL bean flannel over a walmart or target one and you get sick of all that bullshit. Guitars are the same way. It's a functional guitar but there will be some bullshit that you wouldn't have to deal with at $1000 or even around $600 that you eventually will come to both notice and appreciate.

Dumb advice, there is no $ amount that guarantees quality, stupid logic. Want to know if a guitar is good? Play it, there really is no other way, every single brand has lemons even at their highest price point, unless you are buying a complete custom job you have to test it yourself for quality.

Yeah it’s there. Goofing around with it I haven’t really found a use for it. It might just end up being something I never use but it doesn’t hurt that it’s there as an option. Maybe I’ll find a use for it.

I never really liked any of the push pull knob options on a lot of guitars but I picked up an American Pro II Strat a while back and that push push knob is actually pretty neat in that it just adds the neck pickup in the two positions that don’t normally have the neck pickup in use. That guitar kind of changed my mind on those extra tone buttons, like yeah if I don’t use it it’s still there just in case but with the Revstar I just need to put the guitar in different situations to see if and when it might be useful. Reading online people say that if the band is muddy then it helps you get through.

but they aren't as good as USA Fenders. they don't play as well.
and my MIM Player series, which on paper is a way better guitar than the old MIM Standard they replaced... the fuckin posts for the 2 point trem started coming out of the body after a year, sticking out easily 5 mm on the bass side
i tried fixing it but it kept coming out. also very loose neck pocket fit, worse than my Squier VMJM and Squier CV strat
literally worse build quality than two indonesian guitars that cost 300 dollars

I think most people play their cheaper guitars more because you can abuse them. I play my 00 epiphone acoustic more than anything because I do not care what happens to it at all. It's chipped all over the place, the bridge ripped of because I put .14s on it and I had to reglue it. The .14s also sheered the g tuner and I had to replace that. And it's cracked twice because I never humidified or cased it and lived in phoenix.

>>121508272
Considering it's bolt on, the wood is maple, it's just painted, what are you paying for? Fender raised their prices when they became the new millenial boomer brand. 40 year old millenials aren't buying gibsons, they're buying onions fenders like the jaguar and jazzmaster. It used to be that gibson could overcharge because boomers would pay- based on their name but at least they have some features that cost more. But a $2500 bolt on neck guitar is wild to expect somebody to pay for. I mean leo made fenders to be cheap as fuck to make and slap together, like a stamped ak-47. That was the entire point of a fender guitar.

tell us more about these price gauges
>>
>>121508433
Well you see, when you convince a millennial to buy something with a brand name like 'funko pop' they will pay for a plastic doll. They're the easiest generation to market to. They fell for pokemon cards and beyblades and will at age 42 still buy and collect these things. You see, fender falls into this camp because millenials grew up with modest mouse and brand new and really want a jazzmaster toy. Once a company has the millennial on the hook, they can charge what they want. When a millennial buys one delay pedal, he will begin buying more and more and more of them.
>>
File: 1665975147519008.jpg (6 KB, 275x183)
6 KB
6 KB JPG
>>121508487
ok but what about those price gauges though
>>
>>121508519
Price gouging in this case is where you take advantage of the millennial who has already begun his collection. You see the millennial thinks having objects surrounding him will create a personality and he will look for validation towards this. The millennial does it with everything and anything. The millennial may start collecting japanese whetstones or nike sneakers. When the millennial gets hooked that's when you can charge him $600 for some nike shoes or $300 for a ceramic rock. In this case, fender has begun charging the millennial $2000 for a guitar that costs $200 to build. You see, normally the sales cost on a good is 3x the cost of production. But not if you can get millennials to start defining themselves based on the consumption of your product. Then you can start ramping up the price.

i asked a local big name shop about a guitar i wanted. they said they didn't have it in stock so i would need to put down a DEPOSIT so they can order it. and then if i liked it i could pay the rest. the guy i talked to on the phone was so lazy and couldn't give less of a fuck about anything. it was so irritating. might as well just buy online at that point.
so i went to their competitor and bought the guitar there. they had it in stock, in the back of the shop. never even opened the thing. so i saved that (great) guitar from that shop before anyone else could touch it. in a lot of these stores kids will run around and just touch everything in sight and all these sperg zoomers will go in there and put their nasty hands on everything and even fucking damage the guitars.
there is this one guitar store in my area that is so outrageously mismanaged that probably a quarter of the guitars on display have severe damage from the retards that go in there. fucking disgusting.

lol no, he didn't you dumbass.

That's the second prototype the Gibson Custom Shop made for him a few years ago when they were trying to come up with a new signature model for him after the success of the Southern Rock Tribute Les Paul.

I imagine things got put on hold after they fired Henry Juszkiewicz and the new management just didn't have time to get back to it before he passed away since they had to get the company back in order.

It might even get an official release later on, who knows? With Dickey gone and no longer being able to provide input it might be shelved forever unless his family is willing to go forward with it in his absence.

I've watched plenty of of their stuff. The show at Winterland was killer. But spritual is exaclty what early ABB shows were. Even AL DiMeola agrees:

"Dickey Betts from the Allman Bros. passed on!
I was a fan as a teenager and was at the Live at Fillmore East shows! The combo of Duane and Dicky was Unforgettable! The live record still holds up to this day! I’ll never forget attending both shows both nights. The 11:30 shows went til the sun came up! I’ll never forget the sun rising on east river and as the doors opened to leave the dark theatre we were blinding by the sun but went home inspired! RIP Mr. Betts"

or from the very last Fillmore East show
The band's late drummer Butch Trucks added: "We played for roughly seven straight hours with everything we had. We played a three-hour set and then came back out. The feeling from the audience, not necessarily the volume, but the feeling was just so overwhelming that I just started crying. Then we got into a jam ... that lasted for four straight hours – nonstop. And when we finished, there was no applause whatsoever. The place was deathly quiet.

"Someone got up and opened the doors, the sun came pouring in, and you could see this whole audience with a big shit-eating grin on their face, nobody moving until finally they got up and started quietly leaving the place," Trucks added. "I remember Duane [Allman] walking in front of me, dragging his guitar while I was just sitting there completely burned, and he said, 'Damn, it's just like leaving church.'"

The drummer ran into Graham, and he "grabbed me around the neck so hard it hurt and said, 'Thank you, thank you, thank you, for that show.' 'It made all the years of crap I had to put up with worth it,'" Trucks told Forbes. "And I’ll never forget what he said next: 'If I had my way, when you finished this morning I would be sealed up in my bubble and gone off to wherever I’m going.'"

I'm not sure what product threads are. Products with 666 in the upc code we're actually made by an alien. They sometimes have devils on the packaging, just minor queues which let you know that we're in hell. The current theory about 4chan is that it's mostly being done with AI. These threads exist for entertainment purposes, they're like a distraction. And, god does this to keep us alive. Because he doesn't plan on letting us have sex or own a house. It's true, I'm in my 30s. This is a fact which becomes relevant when you know for sure god can snipe your ass at any moment, but isn't doing it. Anyways, I'm pretty sure nobody is reading this. To the 3 chinks reading this, I have a gift for you. Punch yourself in the head and scream out all your illusions of imaginary defeat in a matrix. Thats the truth. So, there's also conflicting theories here about slavery. We have loosh farm theory. God's age is at least 100 million years, and this is what he's done. Very nervous, he seems evil. He genuinely seems pure evil to me. This is a fact which you probably already knew.

Some anon from previous thread mentioned getting an AANJ ibanez over the RG-550. Is pic related (iron label rgrtb621) worth the extra $200 over the 550?
>>
>>121522745
it was me. i was talking shit because the old rg550's had it. the one that got away from me was an rg550, i couldn't handle the responsibility of the edge trem and traded it for a 1970's strat with some cash
to be perfectly honest it doesn't matter unless you're a handlet
i'm just really mad that i traded that rg550 in because it was fantastic
but to be real:
the new 999 dollar rg550's are lacking in that department
and the pickups that are in it are garbage according to every review
and according to reviews the neck profile is not the same as the real wizard neck
idk bro
i wouldn't get that set neck garbage though
believe it or not, bolt on is superior. better sustain and you have the option to shim if it's ever necessary

The reviews I hear about the iron label neck are that it's chunkier than the RG550, which was one of the main reasons I wanted an RG to begin with. And yeah I the stock pickups are nothing special. It's hard finding a good shred guitar with no modifications, I'm coming from a tele so pretty much anything will be thinner. I'll keep an eye for bolt ons though

the reason i traded it was i put 10's on it and couldn't get it the way it was
i had no inkling on how to set up a floating trem
so it was never as good after i changed strings
instead of swallowing pride and having it set up
i just traded it in

I was pretty much homeless for a while, then when I got a small studio apartment, I had one of pic related + iPad. Obviously there are better alternatives if given the opportunity - but man these things are really great for their use case.

For me, it's the humble rogue starter. If you can make an $80 guitar sound good, you can make anything sound good. If you can barre a rogue starter, you can barre anything. It's like training with a weight vest and ankle weights.

Good enough for Rhett, good enough for any respectable guitarist...

>I played all off the shelf guitars and had a bad time.
They have been picked through all that is left is lemons, try ordering your own custom and getting it built by an actual master luthier instead of a dumb journeyman laborer in a factory.
