not trying to defend Swift here, because she's is the most dishonest person in music, but usually when someone says they grew up in an asylum it means they had a big family with a lot of siblings, and so their upbringing was often chaotic. As someone who grew up in a large family I can relate to this line. Typically you need a large house to have a big family, so I wouldn't exactly consider that line specifically to be dishonest. You could've chosen much better examples OP.
