>>121572034I mean, yeah, in the most technical sense. but what do rap fans always praise in rap? what do they talk about? lyrics. lyrics aren't music. rap has nothing to offer, musically. it only has lyrics. if I play bongos while someone recites a poem, is that music? I guess, technically, it is, but is it good music? is it interesting music? is it worth discussing on a music board? not sure about that.

I wonder for what reasons a genre of music would originate as anti-drug and anti-violence? was there perhaps some kind of problem with the people with which this kind of music originated?
