BOSS FB-2 into ROCKMAN XP100 Neural Amp profile capture (The most aesthetic amp of the 80s... SRD Nasa Tech) jam on top of some YouTube track.

Does anyone here use Neural Amp for jamming (its free and ToneHunt for amp profiles is free too)? I've got some interesting results "pushing" those captures with pedals

I was just daydreaming about running into Yngwie somewhere, being like, "Hey are you Yngwie Malmsteen?" and then talking about guitar with him, letting him know that I appreciate his devotion to the craft and admire his playing and his music, then we become pals and we go out and get drinks, we drunk drive in his Ferrari, we pull bitches and he let's me play his guitars and we jam, and then he lets me into his band and I get rich
>>
>>122558184
Sweep picking is a technique. It is popularized as something you use when you want to play really fast. I wager if you reckon you could learn the basic 6 string arpeggio for each chord in a key, and just played them a lot and got mighty quick, you would eventually unlock connections between riffs that you never thought of as being a thing, but it is noticably fast mechanically wise.

Holy shit this guy is annoying.
That’s not a very high bar for sweep picking. He’s mostly just playing single direction sweeps in isolation with movement on one string. I thought you were talking about the swoopy doopy Guthrie Govan shit where like 6 different arpeggios are linked in perfect legato and inside of each of those sweeps there’s movement on every string. Do you really have trouble with the shit you linked?

Take any note.
Add one note that is 4 frets above.
Add a second note that is 7 frets above.
Add an optional fourth note that is 12 frets above
Distribute that over separate strings if you would like, and feel free to double and triple the pattern.
That’s a major arpeggio.
The guitar is isochronic so it is the same all across the neck, you don’t need to worry about adding black keys like a pianist would.

>minor
The second step reduces from a distance of 4 frets to a distance of 3. Nothing else changes.

Radiohead's Weird Fishes with a looper and a backing track.
It's an easy song, but I had problems with the bridge due to removing the drums (they don't exist in the actual song) and it ruined my timing. I used Ableton Live for the looping functions and a MIDI foot controller. I even tried to replicate that part where they pre-record a short loop and then play it back sped up (at 4:03):

Happy Birthday, Anon!
>>
>>122562462
That’s nice tone. Is it a OO body acoustic? I’m really looking for a melody though. Wether it’s just played on the same guitar, a second one, or a voice. It’s very nice chording but it’s just chording. Maybe it’s a WiP and you know this.

I think the mastering being a bit rough adds to it in this state. I would have shit it off after about 20 seconds if there wasn’t that texture there. Maybe if and when there’s more parts to the composition it will become a problem though
>>
>>122562438
Clean and nice. It’s a little bit sterile but if this is all done on a looper that isn’t really a fair criticism.
Did you do the drums in a daw? Just curious
>>
Anyone here try a headless bass? How are they?
>>
>>122562598
>Did you do the drums in a daw? Just curious
Yes. I either download MIDI or Guitar Pro files and extract the other instruments from it or tab it myself it there's nothing available. Then I add some virtual instruments for the bass, drums and anything else that could come up. The vocals are extracted using AI tools.
>>
>>122562584
yes i'm planning on adding a second melody in parts as well as some sort of percussion, i was thinking wood percussion, even tapping on a desk might be alright but i'll have to experiment.
>. I would have shit it off after about 20 seconds if there wasn’t that texture there. Maybe if and when there’s more parts to the composition it will become a problem though

>I would have to shut it off….

I just mean when it’s just the chording part like this, the roughness of the audio is nice. It reminds me of how they do the guitars at the beginning of “Wish You Were Here” to sound like it’s coming over an old radio.

I was saying I like it, but I’m not sure if I would still like it when there are more instruments added to the song. Usually that kind of sound works beside for thin instrumentation.

Engineer Tom Scholz of Boston designed/built them and later started manufactering them more professionaly with SRD... Tom Scholz built many other devices also, pre-Rockman period: the Hyperspace Pedal, stereo-doublers, regulated power-supplies for his tube amps, studio-oriented gear...

Idk maybe they're not that well known, but Scholz was pioneering many things solid state. . Back in old days, solid state amps were not reliable, not powerful enough and he released in power soak already in 1980. maybe a bit guitar nerd stuff. Very good stuff, but I don't think he ever manufactered/many any tube amps/vacuum stuff
>>
>>122563350
That’s really cool, my dad really liked Boston and I always knew Tom Scholz was kind of an electrical whiz. I didn’t know about the amps at all though. It’s one of those things where it’s your dads music so you can appreciate it but you never dive to deep ya know.
I’m going to look into them more because that clip was really tasty and I’m really interested in the solid state stuff. Thanks for the lead.

can i get some feedback on this bassline?
https://voca.ro/1nu54AWewsPb
>>
>>122563713
I listened to it until about 20 seconds into the guitar solo.

Your bass tone could use some work. But I don’t really think the fidelity of the recording was the focus here so I’ll leave it at that.

The line is serviceable. You have a good sense of meter. I would work with that to add a bit more. Maybe just hit the octave with the snare drum or something like that you know.

It’s really what you want to do with it, because the complexity of a bass line is really a taste thing. There’s no harmony or rythmic stuff that sounds wrong though so it checks all the boxes for me. If I heard this on a garage track it’d do the job for me.
>>
>>122563807
>The line is serviceable. You have a good sense of meter. I would work with that to add a bit more. Maybe just hit the octave with the snare drum or something like that you know.

>>122562090
cant go wrong with yamaha
second hand doesnt hurt either but you need to do some basic research or maybe get advice from guitarists you know
>>
>>122563914
I’d say it’s good enough then.
When I say you have a good meter I mean you do a good job of keeping yourself to the 4 count grid of the song, and the line even “reinforces the grid” if you’ll pardon the metaphor.

Based on what your band mates said I think that is more than good enough. Good work anon

>>122563713
Take some of the treble out of your sound so you can sit down into your band's mix better. It could be the overdub but it sounds like you're chasing the beat. You'll sync up and pull or push the music better with bandmates in person.

>>
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

>>
>>122565908
Good question! The ukulele has a higher string on the first string. The second string is actually the biggest. And they have four strings instead of six. I tune it like a bass. E-A-D-G. But the first string is an octave higher than it would be relative to a guitar, in relation to the other strings. So with this tuning it provides inversions just by holding regular chord shapes.

best selling != best
Dirt is the greatest album of 1992, Facelift is the greatest album of 1990, Tripod is the greatest album of 1995, and Layne Staley is the greatest vocalist of all time (objectively) but they weren't the biggest selling band of the 90s.

>>122567897
He is a memorable guitar player with memorable riffs. Under the Bridge, Scar Tissue, Snow, Otherside, etc -- all of their hit singles contain memorable riffs from him that guitar players have been learning for decades.
He is one of the most influential guitar players of the past 35 years.
He is consistently ranked amongst the greats and has been since the early 2000s.
Go on any other guitar forum and Frusciante fans are abundant.
>>122567905
Yes he is, and Mountain would disagree with you because he is also a Frusciante enjoyer.
I'm not wrong about anything. Alice in Chains is metal and the best metal band of all time. They are also the best band of all time.
John is the greatest guitarist of all time. If RHCP had better other members then they could be contenders for the greatest band of all time as well.

Is this the music that made him the 25th best guitarist of all time?
>>
>>122568449
No, that music had already been made years prior. His greatness was certified by this point.
And while he should really be #1, #25 isn't too shabby for a slightly-off list. That means RS thinks only 24 other guitarists in all of music history are better than him. The truth is, however, that no guitarist is better than him.
>>
>>122568381
Anyone?
>>
>>122568497
Scales with accidentals as their tonic are more commonly referred to by their flat name by convention. Mostly because the flat key will have less accidentals than it’s sharp equivalent on the more used part of the circle of fifth.
You’re talking about Eb major. One of the most commonly used keys. It’s “key character” is martial vigour, so you’ll notice that a good deal of marches are written in Eb maj.
You know all this fuck off goblin
>>
>>122568476
You keep saying he’s #1, but I don’t see the list changing at all. Still at 25
>>
>>122568434
Why does ne not play live, and just fakes it to a backing track?
>>
>>122568545
He was once higher. And RS isn't the only publication rank guitarists. The most recent RS list was abysmal.
>>122568552
He did play live, not much now given he is an electronic musician now. He doesn't fake to a backing track at all. He is one of the last true musicians left.

Just a question, I have a scarlet 212, if I get a vinyl player can I then rip vinyls with that? I don't really know what I'm doing but I know that vinyls get shittier the longer you have them out and they are covered with dust so I want to basically just take them out of the wrap, record them to wav, convert to flac, and then leave the boomer discs to rot on a shelf. Normally I wouldn't bother with this archaic system, but some of the records I like have much better DR rating on vinyl than digital.
>>
>>122568571
If he’s an electronic artist now, he shouldn’t even be on the best guitarist list.
So they did him a favor by putting him at 25
>>
I love my Revstar. P90s sound so good with some OD. It plays so nicely for a sub $1000 guitar.
>>
>>122568381

Also Adam Neely is a gigantic antiwhite faggot, no one should take him seriously.
>>
>>122568812
Yes he should, because he still plays guitar, he played guitar at one point of his life, and made a legacy off of playing guitar.

And you think you can simply state what makes something good, and it will be true? Man... People see your desire to have others know what you like. They imagine being in your skin. Being you. Using any metaphysical method to try to literally become you. Attempted soul transfers, and time travel false attempts to bait the observers. Is rock and roll worth the depth of detail? What's the best pedal, preferably a mini that fits in my bcb30 box in the corner, To boost my clean signal, and keep it clean so that i reaches thro8ugh my pedal chain? Is it the TC Electronic Spark Mini?

>>122569233
>What's the best pedal
BOSS DS1
>>
>>122569233
how long is your chain?
>>
>>122569398
Not that long but kinda long, sometimes it's much longer too. I currently have a tube screamer, a foxy tone box, slash wah, Blues driver, waza metal zone, DD8 delay, RE202 delay, and a Grand canyon I loop with, sometimes a chorus factory after the dd8, or sometimes a microphone case with like 10 other pedals that mostly modulate in it but not usually.

I was also thinking of replacing the BD2 with a waza SD1 and getting a morley power fuzz wah to replace the wah, and possibley ditching the foxy box and tube screamer at that point, with a spark in the corner.

oh shit i forgot the pedal sin the corner of my BCB30 box, there's a noise canceler and a EP booster, I wanna replace the EP booster woith the spark to get a cleaner sound.

Im thinking, spark->clean sound, SD1->lightly dirty sound, metalzone->distortion, with just the morley on the floor and the RE202 and canyon as a board. (with the noise canceler and maybe a chorus factory.
