It feels like Rappers mostly outgrow Rap by 35 or so Like Kendrick probably wants to do a Jazz or Soul album but knows his fans and the money wants more hip hop I noticed this with most black rappers, they see Hip hop as Music for when you are struggling and have no money

No one outgrows anything you dope, there is just an obvious ceiling on rap in terms of mainstream success. Look at Nikki Minaj's success transitioning from mixtape bars to big butt black Kate Perry.
