ITT: classics albums that are actually 7/10
>>122595211How many times are you faggots going to make the same threads?
>>1225952117 is pretty good. Realistically on a 1-10 scale a 1 or 10 should be really really rare like maybe not even exist yet rare.
anything by bruce springsteen
but rubber soul is their best album, has to be an 8/10
>>122595280its a 7/10 lil bro
>>122595286i probably think more like this guy>>122595246where a 7 is really good but I feel based on your rash labeling of it as a 7 that the way you rate music it would easily be an 8/10. Its the perfect bridge between their pop rock sound and their psychedelic period and it lacks the complete corniness of some of their later compositions
>>122595211TMR
>>122595326and how do YOU know how I rate music?
>>122595326Yeah I just think that a 1 should be absolutely lacking in all factors and a 10 should be reserved for perfect pieces of music like artistry, technicality, cultural relevance, etc. And I honestly don't know what would even be considered a 10 realistically. Maybe Michael Jackson "Thriller"? Rolling Stone rates Marvin Gaye - What's going on as the "greatest album of all time" which im assuming makes it a 10 by their standards so going by that being a 10 you could figure out what other albums might be 10s
>>122595338>ITT: classics albums that are actually 7/10its all in the tone, youre probably rating sorta like on a grade school rating system where anything below 6 is complete failing trash, rather than anchoring 5 as average decent music, otherwise you wouldnt label it a 7 as an insult when a 7 to most people on here would be definite inclusions in their music library
>>122595430a 10 is going to be personal to almost anyone who picks it, like i'd make Built to Spill's Perfect From Now On or Pavement's Wowee Zowee 10s but thats cause that 90s indie rock had a hugely personal relation to me. One that I think is a 10 on everyones scale and not just my personal would be Pet Sounds, 10s are often albums that the majority of the tracks are perfect or near perfect and would scarcely benefit from any additions or changes, albums that are end alls in their specific genre sounds, theres no album that does Pet Sounds but better not even close, one that would come to mind as a lesser form of Pet Sounds is Zombies Odyssey and Oracle.
>>122595465Honestly on a true 1-10 scale that encompasses all music genres and artist I'd say MOST albums are probably an average 5 at the highest. I just looked up Fantano's list of 10s and it's pretty interesting.>"The Money Store" by Death Grips>"To Be Kind" by Swans >"To Pimp a Butterfly" by Kendrick Lamar>Kids See Ghosts' self-titled album>"You Won't Get What You Want" by Daughters>"The Turning Wheel" by Spellling>"Sinner Get Ready" by Lingua Ignota>"Brat" by Charli XCX.
>>122595430>a 10 should be reserved for perfect pieces of music like artistry, technicality, cultural relevance, etcI agree and on the technical factor alone that leaves no pop music as a 10 compared to classical or jazzFor me there's perfect ratings for their genre that are not a 10 (e.g. I've never listened to a reggae album that feel more than a 7 or 8, same goes for punk or metal)
>>122595522To Be Kind is the only good album in that list and it's a 7.5/10 not 10/10
>>122595503>Built to Spill's Perfect From Now On based>Pavement's Wowee Zoweegarbage
>>122595522you're only gonna find new music from his tens, since that's what he reviews. if you want a better idea of what he generally considers a 10 he used to maintain a rym account.https://rateyourmusic.com/collection/theneedledrop/r5.0

>>122598904>Remove GirlWhat the fuck is wrong with you?
>>1225989564channers dont believe girls are real have you not been on this site at all
>>122598916>WHEN I GET TO THE BOTTOM I GO BACK TO THE TOP OF THE SLIDE
You can't just judge an album like that on itself. You have to factor in cultural significance, influence and placement in time.
>>122598916I did a website thing where it reccomends a great album to listen to every day. The first one was the white album. I listened to it and was quite disturbed by it. There are some bizarre nightmarish songs next to lovely Paul ballads, its so all over the place and crazy I stopped going to the site. Because of the sweetness songs it makes it even more insane.
>>122595211ScremadelicaThe Stone Rosesmoat hip hop albums that are hailed as the masterpieces of the genre
>>122599883This album is a 2. Every TLC and most Brandy albums mog the fuck out of it.
