I think it finally grew on me...

Anyone else have a tough time accepting this album at first? I saw the Blackstar orchestral tribute concert in DC the other day, and I think it really helped me appreciate the jazziness of it all, and the craftsmanship of Bowie.

It's not something I would immediately put on while working or driving as honestly I would fall asleep soon. But it is nicely done, well executed, and mysterious.

Bowie's most mediocre album and thats saying a lot
>>
It's a good album and it's better knowing that he was planning to euthanize himself. That "where the fuck did Monday go" is line was because his suicide appointment was on a Monday. He's still a bitch for not just treating his cancer but what can you do.

I think there's a lot of good stuff on it, but the production is quite poor and lets it down. It's too clean and poppy - should have been mixed more like Heroes or some shit

It was the opposite for me, i loved it the first time, but after 2 or 3 listens i was bored.
It's mid

There's no fucking way that it's more mediocre than Hours, Black Tie, both tin machine albums, buddha of suburbia, etc...

I think the sterile production plays into the theme quite well

Never Let Me Down and Reality are his worst albums by far

Reality is not that bad, I see it pretty similarly to Heathen

Reality is great, pleb

man I still remember listened to the single of it, was kinda surprised Bowie came out with another work pretty fast since it was just less than 3 years after 'The Next Day' came out, kinda weird but whatever.
Then the album was dropped and then he just passed away like that.

pretty sure he had his rounds of chemo but that wasn't enough to make his cancer stop spreading.
