Look, I've got no qualms with the Simon and Garfunkel version. It's a good song on its own, even if its grandiose lyrics don't really fit the pedestrian "let's all go to the lobby" Euro twee sound.
But it's pretty clear the Disturbed version is untouchable. They took this sixties folk song and made it into an uncontestable masterpiece. I wish I had that level of eye to see the brilliance that could be brought out in something. Insane respect to them for not trying to just do a carbon copy of the original with auto tune, or heaven help us, an alternative metal cover, as lesser bands like Five Finger Death Punch or Linkin Park might have done (I do think it worked for their Land of Confusion cover, but the original is still slightly better)
