>>122881715This is his best album hands down.
this album makes my LMAO at how good it is
Yours Truly, 2095 is fucking amazing
especially love the twilight (which to me is the title track) and when the lights go down
>TWIIIILIIIIGHT>I ONLY MEANT TO STAY A WHILEI don't care what anyone says, this is the best fanmade music video everhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G93bj1HARA4
>>122881715The only flaw is that Julie Don’t Live Here Anymore wasn’t on the original release.
FLY, FLY, THROUGH A TROUBLED SKYUP TO A NEW WORLD, SHINING BRIGHTWHOA

>>122882824>its a concept album dont forget, like a ...i'm old af, i know how to listen to a concept album lol(but didn't know this was one, so thx)
I remember listening to this album a couple of years ago and it sounded like something made by Queen.
>>122882654holy soul
>>122882805OK.just finished.it's pretty good, indeed.well-written songs, as expected.not their best imo, probably because -it sounds more early '80's than '70's-synths replaced real orchestra strings-The Lights Go Down is basically Crimson & Clover-dislike Hold On Tight, sounds like American radio fodderit was a good listen; thanks.respect to you guys
>>122883324you'll be back
>>122881715This is the only ELO album I've listened to all the way through lol
>>122883456kekprobably
>>12288171510/10
>>122882654The fanmade music video it's aping is even better.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-840keiiFDE
Remember the good old 1980s?
Dare I say, the greatest album of all time
>>122881715I have listened to it many times. It’s one of my personal favourite albums of the 1980s. Maybe ELO’s best? I really like Out of the Blue also.
You should be so happy. You should be so glad. So why are you so lonely, you 21st century man?
>>122886863wtf don’t shoot that guy in the head!!!
>as i gaze around at the strangers in town>i guess the only stranger is me
>>122881715The music in there is awesome enough to be featured in a short animation commissioned for a Japanese nerd convention in the 80s.The ones behind this will go on to form Gainax.https://youtu.be/yDN68LxWW-8?feature=shared&t=88
1. ANWR2. Discovery3. Eldorado
>Is this the way life's meant to be?
The ELO was trapped in its own "perfect" sound and "perfect" melodies. Time (1981), which features Hold on Tight, Ticket to the Moon, Another Heart Breaks, Rain is Falling, was still excellent by the standards of pop muzak, but hardly innovative at all.6/10
>>122890791The way Jeff used synth on the record was unique for the time. I still haven’t found anything else quite like it.
>>122889607>LOOK AND SEE THE WONDERS OF OUR WOOOOOOOOOORLD
>>122890791Use your pic scaruffifag so my filter catches your posts
>i only meant to stay a while…
>Though you ride on the wheels of tomorrow>You still wander the fields of your sorrow>What will it bring?
>>122890791God I fucking hate the way Scaruffi always tries to sound more intellectual than he actually is.
>>122883324>-dislike Hold On Tight
>>122881715It's like my 5th favorite album>>122882556Truly cyborg wife kino
I listened to the first song, and it sounds great in terms of instrumentals/production, but the vocals can be grating with their cheesy melodies. Particularly when they go "TWWWIIIILLIIIIIGHT" and "WITH YOUR HAND HELD HIGH AND YOUR STARS AND STRIPES YOU CAN'T DUH DUH DEE DAH DEE OVERSIGHTS"Overall though the song just isn't that impressive, my favorite part is that short little piano interlude before the chorus because it sounds like it's going to take the harmony somewhere fun, but it immediately pulls back. But it's good, I'd give it a 7/10I did not enjoy the second track.
>>122896871Yours Truly, 2095 is an acquired taste, I'll give you that. But,>but the vocals can be grating with their cheesy melodiesIs this your first ELO record?
>>122897698Record, yes. I was familiar with Mr. Blue Sky before though but not much else
>>122897723That'll do it. I love Jeff Lynne's vocals, but they can be off-putting to some. For what it's worth, Time isn't really the best starting point for ELO's stuff. If you are looking to get into them, I'd start with A New World Record. But I'll go ahead and warn you now that ELO's discography is thick with cheesy melodies.
>>122896871>you see the music has ironic cheesy melodiesThe fuck are you talking about
>>122896554to be fair, it's usually badly translated, but yeah.
>HEY THERE MR. BLUE >WE'RE SO PLEASED TO BE WITH YOU
>>122881715A perfect pop album>>122899662An almost perfect pop album
>>122881715For almost 5 years, I had a ~45 minute commute to University. This was perfect for listening to a standard-length album on my way. I must have listened to Time over a hundred times over those years. The whole thing is burned into my brain. It triggers memories of early morning winter drives through the city. But more importantly, the songs are just so damn good. Time definitely goes down as one of my favourite albums of all time. 80s synthpop concept album perfection. For fun, another one of my favourite commuting albums from that time in my life was Supertramp - Crime of the Century. Give that a spin, if you haven’t.
