For context luthiers even have special rulers(they are not rulers just call them reference bars) that are used to have a reference point whether a guitar has a gibson style neck (curved) or fender neck (straight with body) and one of the blind design spots is that it's almost imperative that gibson styles need to have the 3x3 configuration for tuner like an acoustic guitar has while fender has the tuners in series. Why is this important?
