I was genuinely surprised when I found out that this is considered one of the best songs of the 00s, I always thought it was just ok at the time though it got annoying from being overplayed.

Yeah people actually pontificate on the lyrics and stuff
>>
>>122894433
It's good for pop music
Pop music is a very low bar
>>
>>122894433
Lingering dim sim fart
>>
I must agree there are way better Outkast songs. Even that song he did with Kelis was better.
>>
>>122894490
>the lyrics
>modern relationships are le bad
>>
>>122894548
UH OH STINKY
>>
I mean, it's great song for sure. one of the best? idk

I'm sure a lot of this has to do not insomuch with it being so excellent of a song, but it's still a banger that's culturally epochal and defines the zeitgeist of those times for a very wide demographic. it seems to have entered the collective conciousness as THE song of the era and dare I say in a way filled the gap left by micheal jackson's big hits in this regard. so here's your answer I guess, basically a lot of it is universal nostalgia for the times past

still, outkast never topped their debut album, so all y'all oughta listen to that for once

You mean Atliens
>>
OP can't shake it like a polaroid picture.
>>
maybe "Hey Ya" and "Ms Jackson" are overrated, but at least they're fun songs.
Now "B.o.B" on the other hand is absolute excrement and I will never again be gaslit into thinking it's good in any way.

>imagine having this opinion
>>
>>122894433
It basically introduced Outkast to the masses
It's possible you heard of them with Miss Jackson but Hey Ya was unavoidable.
>>
>>122895185
This
>>
>>122894433
same goes for current mediocre pop music supported by former hipsters, these days, poptimists.
>>
>>122894433
roses>hey ya
>>
even as a rockist I was always instantly impacted my the direct delivery of
>MY BABY DONT MESS AROUND
>THANK GOD FOR MOM AND DAD
oddly emotional but that video with the audience cheering was fucking annoying
>>
>>122894433
Their best album is ATLiens by far
>>
>>122894433
why did the guy on the right work with the guy on the left. seemed like andre had all the talent. is that why they did the split album
