I liked Help I'm alive and a few other tracks from that album. When she stopped trying to sound so nonchalant in her singing voice.
was going to say Combat Baby since that's the first song I ever heard by them, but someone took it :<I guess Gold Guns Girls is pretty nostalgic too, so I'll go with that. Monster Hospital close third.I only really listened to Old World/Live It Out/Fantasies growing up, I should give the other stuff a shot sometime.

i was partial to one of the later ones that went...I WANT IT ALL I WANT IT ALL I WANT IT ALLheard it everywhere at the time.it had like a glitching gameboy sound intro.i'm feeling nostalgic for it actually.probably pre 2016 when things weren't so stupid that's why
also gonna say "dead disco," was my favorite song back in their heyday and then i saw them live (still back in 2006 or so) and they did some kind of extended 13-minute jam version and it was just absolutely enthralling
can't believe I got The Wanderlust 30 posts in

I miss this indie era of Toronto music
>>122910012u can have it bro, no one's touching that.
>>122907163that's a depressing ass
>>122907588saw them in Kitchener ON during that February 2006 tour and yes they did the Dead Disco jam but i didn't find it enthralling it was predictable and stale i was waiting for some dynamics but that disco beat and 4 note repetitive bass line dragged on and on.now i was in a Grateful Dead style jam band that played every wenesday in my local bar and we we packed that place with our freeforming ways i considered myself Phil Lesh so a booze bag indie sour puss named Emily not showing any tits or puss while shitting over the concept of what i considered jamming at the me made me lose the inane plot quickly and quite frankly Metric never recovered when i, a certified intermediate ubermensch, walked out of the concert with eyes rolling before said Dead Disco jam was determined finished. lots of people staring at their watches.the Unicorns opened and they had predictable mid 2000's twee whimsy yet were somehow less faggy then Metric.
>>122911693
>>122911693>now i was in a Grateful Dead style jam bandlol
>>122911693I hope that was at least partly ironic but I agree, when any band that can't do solos tries to "jam" it fucking sucks
Dark Saturday :3
