what's the reason for it?
its all about the trend of making low quality products in general unlike the past?

This happened to my AKGs the other day. Awaiting for new ones to arrive in the post.

Is there a way to fix this phenomenon myself?

Wow they weren't lying. Zoomers truly are technologically illiterate. The reason is that one of the internal wires has snapped due to the way you are using the the headphones be it tying and untying the cable before and after use, jerking the cable due to some sudden movement one too many times or any number of activities that cause stress to the wires through normal use.

What's the reason for it? A scam like most of thing today: creating low quality things as a way to get more profit?
