i can't believe metal was really just a phase for me. i enjoy a good riff here and there, but i cannot listen to a whole album (unless it's Black Sabbath, I still love the shit out of them.)

It’s because you didn’t get into it organically, you ‘tried’ to get into it. I got into metal at 9 years old when I heard the trooper on a radio station, then I went to the library at my school and got books out about metal and rock and brought cds with my pocket money, gradually got into heavier and heavier stuff. It’s not meant for you. Metal was expressing what I’ve always felt in my soul and it was a life changing experience when I first heard it.
