If you're a musician they're one of the more harmonically interesting of alt rock bands. Their voicings are often unusual, not just basic power chords. The only trouble I think is they seem 'click track-ish'. In the way Garbage felt like pop-rock played over a drum machine, so does Filter sometimes. Anyway, have a listen.
