>>122913615Thriller. Everything else was him chasing it and forgetting what made it great in the first place. Dangerous through to Invincible is filled with filler and him trying to chase trends and spin all the genre plates to appeal to every market. Instead of making 40 minutes of focused pop he began making 80 minutes of a bit of everything. The whole "global artist" thing was the end of him. History or Invincible should have been a tight Neo-Soul album with stuff like Butterflies and Heaven Can Wait, but he was never able to accept he'd passed his peak and was never able to free himself to do whatever he wanted creatively.
