Yeah, like 20 years ago.
A long, long time ago. Now go listen to Cody.
>>122922691crescendocoredie young is their best
>>122923847idk does that one have any indecipherable vocals in it? i like that sound by mogwai
>>122923896Iggy Pop sample on the first track. Soft vocals on the title track. It's good shit. Very bleak.
>>122922691Never, it's pure noise. Friends took me to see them live and it was horrible
>>122924339>pure noise>album is melodic as fuck and probably their most accessible
>>122924012 >>122923896 >>122923847its like slints spiderland, but actually goodhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Pd-1uFoedMoso grotesquely underrated>>122922691lmao HSFHP is when mogwai first fell off & began lazily coasting upon their reputation & churning out super accessible, super low effort post-rock pop
>>122925012You're trying too hard
>>122925052what does that mean? stay mad, retard
>>122925073You need to relax
BumpI love to put on some Mogwai to fall asleep to. I think their 2021 album was severely underrated
>>122922691>mogwai>never mogged anyone
>>122925012its really not that underrated. back in the day post rock try hards were always pushing for come on die young as some secret holy grail despite how utterly boring and uneventful it is. i checked out of mogwai after mr. beast but id take literally any of their records or eps up to that point over come on die bored
>>122925012Happy Songs is fine. Doesn't have some of the highs they had on their first couple records but it's far from bad.
>>122929812Hard disagree with everything you said. Holy shit. CODY is amazing.
>>122929840okay i gave come on die young another listen in response to this thread and ill concede that its a quality record and great but due to its slowcore nature i think the listeners who'll get the most out of it are devoted mogwai fans. i have a weird relationship with post rock from that era because i obsessed over it most when i was an awkward teenager in the 2000s but i think mogwai has held up exceedingly well all things considered and imo most of their albums range from great to pretty good at worst
>>122931537It is a downer record for sure. Very slow moving. Doesn't have that Young Team energy. Isn't as crescendo heavy but that's kinda why I like it. It's dour and has this nice flow to it. I get why most people would be let down by it but it's probably the Mogwai record I listen to the most.
