Why did she blow up in popularity this year? I know she’s been singing and acting since her teens, but what happened that made this year “her year”?

She was on the cover of Blank Banshee 4D ?

I think 'Short n Sweet' is intended to be her breakout album.

It's really Poppy!

She scored some big hits that's why.
Espresso took over then Please Please whatever the fuck that song's called did well too

>what happened that made this year “her year”?
industry planting
>>

Her previous album was a step above what she'd done before. Then Swift had her on a leg of the Eras tour, which gave her exposure and opened some doors. Now she's getting a push so the newfound potential can be cashed in on. You have to be profitable and a good bet in order to be pushed, and this was the right time. I personally think the new album isn't quite as good as the last, but whatever.
>>
>>123347957
She's been doing this for around 15 years and gradually rising in profile. Plants have little to no history compared to the publicity they get. They basically show up out of nowhere. There's a difference between that and you not noticing someone for a long time.
>>
>>123348062
a plant is a plant is a plant
she is successful because someone decided she should be
what she did before is of no consequence
there is no such thing as organic success in pop music anyway
>>
>>123348253
By your logic, everyone is a "plant" and therefore the distinction is meaningless, so why are you posting?
>>
>>123348253
Can you name a current artist who isn't a plant?
>>
>>123347825
She managed to attract the QoS crowd with her BBC comment
>>
>>123347825
One decent song and it's a copy/paste splice loop
>>
>>123348430
You know how many songs are built off simple repetition like that?

You're talking about Espresso right
>>
>>123348452
There's simple repetition and there's straight up ripping a melodic loop without the slightest modification. Everyone uses samples but even for mainstream pop it's an outlier in that respect
>>
>>123347825
I don't know why but that cover-art makes me feel like that's how women look like to someone who hates them.

Her first 4 albums were released on a Disney label for kiddies.

Short n Sweet is only her 2nd album on a major label and there was a clear push to get her in the spotlight. She was a D tier artist and all of a sudden she had went on tour with Taylor Swift, got a great slot at Coachella, a massive marketing push, a spot on every god damn talk show in the US/internet and better producers/songwriters

I had no idea who she was in March this year, and in April my entire instagram feed was spammed with her concerts and photoshoots. And that was before Espresso dropped
>>
>>123348640
>what is marketing
>>
>>123347825
Music industry wanted a former Disney teenybopper starlet to turn into the next big thing like with her co-star Rodrigo
>>
>>123348253
>what she did before is of no consequence

Not even true. She has all that history of singing, dancing, performing, dealing with media, creating some sort of aesthetic/style, co-writing songs (she's credited as a writer on her hit songs, even if those were just lyrics).

The experience matters. If you truly just took a random pretty looking lady and shoved them into the spotlight and said, "Ok go be a pop star" they would have problems Lol.
>>
>>123348601
It was planted for good luck.
>>
she got bogged before 30 jfc
>>
is her new album good or interesting at all? i checked her out a couple years ago and her music seemed very cookie cutter and derivative and boring. asking as someone who doesn't hate pop music and has liked o-rod, chappell and charli

it’s good, but it’s pretty simple/straightforward/generic pop music. i thought emails i can’t send was boring as shit, this new album is much better.
>>
>>123347825

She's OK, I went to a concert and I waited for the music to begin for 3 hours until it ended and I didn't listen a single piece of music.
>>

What?

Good graces and bad Chem on the new album are good

because her studio decided to.
it's so easy now to make anyone popular and make it seem organic to normies.
>>
>>123348702
Yes, and if a previously unknown singer has such a massive marketing push behind her then it's a telltale sign of a plant

Lmao what she’s been around since she was a child and her last album hit the charts. She’s also had singles charting since 2017.
>>
>>123351234
Yeah, I'd put my penis in her vagina, perhaps a kiss or two too.
>>
>>123348395

>>
>>123349883
She has the best sense of humor of anyone in music probably I am weird maybe I even thought her BBC joke was cute.
>>
>>123347825
>>123347929
her face looks overly cartoonish and plastic surgery ridden it's an uncanny look thats halfway between a doll and a human

she blew up because she's willing to get naked and prance around in her panties

Taylor Swift has gotten too big so there can't be only one blonde haired white girl popstar, they'd make more but it would look too obvious
>>
>>123352002
>Lmao what she’s been around since she was a child
Being around for a long time doesn't make you a household name, no one knew who she was before Emails and even that wasn't a popular album

>She’s also had singles charting since 2017.
She had 24 singles (including features) before Espresso, only 3 of them charted in the US and only one of them charted in the top 40
>>
>>123352461
I agree, she's somehow managed to be the coolest out of all the current big female popstars.
>>
>>123352490
This. Humiliation ritual.
>>
>>123358296
You dimwit just answered your own question. She started as a child actor and slowly worked her way up. Her last album already made a dent in the charts and now she's finally made it with a great marketing team, opening for Taylor Swift and genuinely catchy songs.
>>
>>123360452
She's finally made it because after Emails a bunch of label executives had a meeting and decided that they're going to make Sabrina Carpenter their next big thing
>>
>>123360525
How the fuck do you think labels make their money? By not promoting their artist? What's even your point?
>>
