The swap between Liam songs and Noel songs is like *kerTHUNK* Liam's voice is also getting a bit raspy which is ok until Noel does his choir boy routine. It's terminally fucked. See also blur self titled. They are both albums that I have put days into trying to come to terms with. They are fucked. They aren't very good songs a lot of them.
With DBTT it's awful. That's easy. With SOTSOG for me, it is a quandary, why isn't it any good? It has never been obvious to me why it doesn't work. There's something about ti where I will keep giving it a second chance. It just is fucked.

Roll it over, it does get me back listening, and it does have a song that was used for a building society advert written by Mott the hoople for the B section. But that's ok. It sounds better than any of the rest of it. And the next two albums are in the same vein, one or two reasonable songs for the tour and the rest is junk.
