The Eras tour is the highest-grossing tour in history, and it's not even done yet.

How long will that record stand? Who else could beat it?

Maybe one of the boomer acts like the Rolling Stones or Billy Joel ... but I can't imagine anyone else in Tay's generation even coming close to what she's done on the Eras tour
>>
Why do you care? Is she your girlfriend?
>>
>>123667380
>why do you care?
I care because it's an enormous social phenomenon. Regardless of the contributing factors, the Eras tour success would be very difficult to replicate again any time soon with any other artist.

>is she your girlfriend?
No.

inb4 "hurr durr (((they))) did it" or "she doesn't write her own songs" or whatever incel cope... fine, even if (((they))) did it, it's still huge and I can't imagine (((they))) aren't going to be able to do it again for at least 20 years.
>>
>>123667380
since you are autistic let me explain it to you

he doesn’t actually care about it at all he just needed an excuse to post a pic oh her ass
>>
>>123667345
It's not really an impressive record when ticket prices are at an all time high
>>
>>123667345
Two biblical lads from celestial Manchester are currently warming up to smash Taylor's backdoor in. Watch this space, 2025.
>>
>>123667345
Isnt second place Coldplay's current tour
>>
>>123667345
>>123669690

Yeah you'd always have to adjust it for inflation. Concerts used to be like $10 in the time of Led Zeppelin. now they are $300

related question, do you think that she's completely sober when she does these 3-hour marathon shows or does she have some shrooms or something beforehand?

I'm guessing she's completely straightedge, has beers after the show.

>$300
Starting price

>Maybe one of the boomer acts like the Rolling Stones or Billy Joel
Absolutely not. They don't have the energy nor the fanbase to play 3 nights in a row in the same city, let alone a stadium. I honestly don't see her record ever being broken. Only way is if you pull an Elton John and have a 10-year long tour and make it somehow count as one current tour.
>>
>>123671640
and they have over 100 more shows than Taylor's current one.

Maybe a Rihanna comeback tour?

She's probably the last monoculture pop sensation that could sell football stadiums. Right now the only new pop top 40 artist I see really inspiring a fanatical devotion on the level of Swift is Chappell Roan because she has enough of that "girl next door" look to her, and even when she's in some campy glam outfit she still comes off as more of a normal girl. Taylor sort of does as well, she comes off like the popular queen bee at your school and not some out of this world Hollywood diva, and that helps her resonate with the masses so well. Plus her music is perceived as having a "story" and "lore" to it that gets the fans invested, while being calculated and manufactured musically.

Right now I think Roan has some potential to be that, but even she wouldn't be as universal as Taylor Swift because she's too "artsy" and has the garish drag queen makeup, so I don't see her breaking this record. However I think she can strike the right balance between relatability, perceived artistry, and accessible pop music to resonate with a wide range of people, and women who think they're "not like the other girls". Other modern pop stars like Sabrina Carpenter, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo don't really have all those elements, they come off more like Britney Spears Christina Aguilera types. Roan, Taylor, and maybe Lana are on another level really. I think Roan's going to end up being the most successful singer to emerge from this decade ultimately as she fits the zeitgeist well, but even she probably won't surpass Taylor

Rihanna has never played stadium shows whereas Taylor's been doing them since her 4th album.
>>

chappell roan is cool but she aint going to break 2 billion in tickets

It sounds ridiculous, but she's pretty much a capeshit character. Basic pretty white girl, but also pop star. They've been trying to make that happen forever. Especially trying to get them out of rock or country or folk (where most of the pretty white girls are) and into pop: Gwen, Jewel, Shania, etc.. It just didn't stick or something happened. When I say capeshit, I mean there were cartoons of fake bands like her in the past. They had to make up girls like Taylor Swift because there weren't real enough ones. Jem or Dazzler in the X-Men.
The only comparable thing is Elvis. Another capeshit character pretty much.

>They don't have the energy nor the fanbase to play 3 nights in a row in the same city, let alone a stadium
I'm sure the Stones and Billy Joel did that many many times in their multi-decade careers.
>>
>>123672513
Nah, thats wrong, in Argentina we are broken as shit, like really fourth world and Coldplay came in our worst year and sold out 10 river plate stadiums. River plate is a 90k people stadium.

Larger demography in the world + infantilization (tons of basedboys and cat ladies in their 40s) + concerts being more hip than ever makes it easier than ever. Seriously Coldplay is big, but not 10 River plate stadiums big.

Every concert in our country (and thanks to football we have huge ass stadiums) is selling out in like 10 minutes even with antiresale limits and id. If you dont buy it in the first hour, you are not watching it.

The population grew too big and the stadiums are not big enough for the new demographics interested in music or sports. Stadiums should be at 300k minimum.

Swift is the first big artist that can benefit from this extra large population of basedboys, but from now on it will be easier than before.

have you seen videos of her on stage she’s constantly wiping away at her nose, it’s pretty obvious that cocaine is the only thing keeping her going on these tours.
>>
>>123673840
I'm surprised Paul McCartney did not make the list
>>
>>123667345
>Billy Joel
He still has the record for most consecutive nights sold out at Madison Square Garden. I honestly don't think anyone will ever beat that.
>>
>>123674169
pretty much this, about Shania Twain: she was already in her 30s when she became famous so it wasn't gonna last long but at her peak she was gigantic, in the late 90s her album sold 20m copies in the US alone which is similar to Thriller in the mid-80s
>>
>>123673840
Nah never again. What does rock have left qotsa foo fighters, muse, the strokes what other bands could sell out stadiums?
>>
>>123674730
McCartney + Lennon would be in there but on his own he can "only" make like $400m per tour
>>
>>123674478
yes but OP is talking about if anybody current can beat it and they wouldn't be able to now.
>>
>>123674606
That's fine, but OP is asking if anybody will break it and there's nobody current that will be able to and there are no new artists now that I could see playing massive shows in 5-10 years from now.
>>
>>123674908
A Beatles stadium tour would of been bigger than The Rolling Stones at least
