I find it fascinating how much this board likes the Doors. Seems odd considering how much it shits on most other boomer rock. Why are the Doors practically /mu/core at this point? Are zoomers into the Doors for some reason? Not that I'm complaining, they're one of my favorite bands.
>>
I hate The Doors. Jim Morrison is a bad vocalist and people only liked him because he was hot
>>

the door is the only boomer band that I truthly like
I dont know why
>>

>Jim Morrison is a bad vocalist
im sure you can sing a lot better than him anon
>>
>>123675970
Damn, that tons of people.

>>123676026
Very funny.

post a vocaroo of you singing a doors song then
>>
>>123675970
I think it was prompted by the circus music, mo’ chicken and a fat Morrison threads
>>
>>123676054
So they were accidentally memed into being /mu/core? Interesting.
How much were the Doors discussed on /mu/ 10+ years ago?
>>
>>123675970
>shits on most other boomer rock
Like what?
>>
I like The Doors
>>
>>123676142
Why?
>>
>>123675970
the average /mu/tant in 2024 can relate to morrison being a fat drunken washed up loser more than they relate to bob dylan or robert plant or whoever
>>
>>123675970
this board has been taken over by leftist redditors
>>
>>123675970
i think they have enough influences that separate them from typical boomer shit. robbie's flamenco background, ray's european inspired keyboards and densmore's jazz chops. also they weren't afraid to go darker, wilder and more experimental than a lot of contemporaries
>>
>>123675970
They have everything that makes a great band.
>A distinct sound
>Hits
>Good rhytm
>charismatic members
>>
A few /pol/acks discovered Jim was racist and started accounting for a disproportionate amount of posts lately with their shitposting. Besides that they're indeed a good band. What's not to like? They had a unique flavor of psychedelic rock.
>>
>>123676627
He fucked black girls and pulled from black blues players. He wasn’t exactly racist.
>>
>>123676627
It’s just one person making these threads.

Byrds/CCR/Doors are the greatest American bands to ever exist.
"Bands". Lot more good to say about individuals.
>>
>>123676725
What about either of those makes him not-racist?
>>
>>123676627
He was not a racist.

The Doors are an excellent band.
>>
>>123675970
the end is a good song but I don't really like them otherwise
>>
>>123675970
He was 400 pounds and retarded likes all his fans
>>
>>123675970
Because Doors did "Prople are Strange" which goes in hard, and shows that Jim was an asocoal autist, and if he had became gamous he would've became a full on asocial, autistic incel
>>
>>123675970
It's because he eats more chicken than any man's ever seen. That's impressive stuff there.

greatest frontman ever simple as

>>123676260
Hearing modal scales on an organ is a bit more interesting to listen to than another 60s guitarist milking the minor pentatonic
>>
>>123676149
Because they're fun to listen to when you're high, drunk, or tripping.
