Correct, in fact the chord should be identified as Emaj7 (E-G#-B-D#), not E7

The E7 chord is probably a secondary dominant in the progression and the key of the song probably doesn't contain the E note (hence the A7 with a #5 instead of the natural 5th, which would be the e note)

It's E7 with major eb note played on top of it as a melody (or extention), not just an Emaj7 chord, that's the whole deal with that pic
