for me he has a similar (albeit more accessible) appeal as james ferraro of creating this very specific soundscape or vibe and really dialing it in. basically anything on the attitude era holds appeal to me because it sounds so interesting, but i couldn't listen to almost any of the tracks by themselves. i will admit he exploits a nostalgia factor way too much to his detriment (i.e. a lot of moments on black metal) but it's good tunes so
