>>124167115>pays for internet >doesn't actually make money with ithow come you jewed yourself?... Jude

>>124167345he owns a ghost costume company. trolling that old fool for views came right in time for Halloween.
Producer has many definitions. What matters in the end is does the album get made.
>>124167345>>124167548he's literally referencing Death Magnetic and you're defending himwe know this because its the only fuckin album that "got made" and sounds like shit because it's clipped
rick poobin. damn I sure love how he compresses everything
>>124167575no he's not. He was talking about his early years and how he wanted to re-create good live performances and rely less on technical stuff.
>>124167726that doesn't make the excuse for Death Magnet any better
> Let me give you the fucking truth of it. Rick Rubin showed up for 45 minutes a week. Yeah. Rick Rubin would then, during that 45 minutes, lay on a couch, have a mic brought in next to his face so he wouldn't have to fucking move. I swear to God. And then he would be, like, 'Play it for me.' The engineer would play it. And he had shades on the whole time. Never mind the fact that there is no sun in the room it's all dark. You just look like an asshole at that point. And he would just stroke his huge beard and try and get as much food out of it as he could. And he would go, 'Play it again.' And then he'd be, like, 'Stop! Do that over.' And he had an assistant who was seven feet tall. He had that disease where you can't grow hair on your body, so he was just bald. He looked like Mr. Clean's neurotic cousin. But he basically ran Rick Rubin's life like, he was just fucking on it, on it, on it, on it. About half way through our precious 45 minutes, he would bring in this plate of shit. I assume it was food. It was bluish green. It smelled like someone had just plunged a fucking toilet somewhere. And he would eat it as fast as he could just get it in there, all over himself. Which is, when you're working, so wonderful to look at . . .
>pay producer>end up with your largest hit in yearsreal mystery
>>124167833That's the thing, if the record is a success, he takes credit for it only because he was paid to show up. It's really sickening.
>>124169927>be involved with numerous artists and their best albums>artist's albums are weaker when he isn't a producer for it>well it was just a coincidence that he was there when their best work was made. It would've been good anyways without him.
>>124167795strange how that was their best album of their career too......
>>124169982he literally says that every artist he was with were already successful and after 4 or 5 albums they slipp and h3 comes in and just says " play it more like the better selling stuff"name one fucking album he was actually responsible for a DIFFERENT change than what the artist was already doing and then created a new era for that artistSlayer was already fucking slayingRun DMC was already rappingMetallica sure as fuck didnt get anything from him
>>124170119his job isn't to change stuff. It's to just guide the band into making good songs. Chili peppers were around for a long time before Blood Sugar, System of a Down was unknown before Rick produced them.
>>124170195all those artists were already popular and didn't drastically change their sound he already admitted that he doesn't create beats, or turn knobs to adjust mixing, hes not Bob Rock switching Metallica to Arena Metal, hes not telling the Beatles to switch from pop rock to progressive, hes not coming up with the Wall of Sound method of recording, he wasnt creating beats like Dre.he just heard some shit and said he likes it and had capital to pay for them to record ita literal rich Jew spending money for someone to perform, he never broke a new artist, hes a used car salesman with a friend who owns a body shop and gives him free service if he brings a car to them
>>124170347>all those artists were already popularChili Peppers and System weren't popular before he produced them. Chili's had some minor success with Mother's Milk but they were still an underground band at that point. Blood Sugar was their 5th album so they should've been past their prime at that point.
>>124170385once again, he didn't find those artists and nothing they.did sounded drastically differentonce again, to paint the narrative that he Bob Rock'd massively popular artists who literally created a new genre AND WERE ALREADY BEING NOMINATED FOR AWARDS but then made them drastically change their methods to become commercially successful is bullshit.even today slayer fans say Reign in Blood is less progressive than their first 2, it just had better recording and mixing, which Rick admits he doesn't dohe's nothing but an executive producer
>>124170536>he's nothing but an executive producerI would agree, and that's his style. In the end, what matters is the end product and who cares what avenues it takes to get there. It's not a producer's job to change a band's sound. If the band wants to do that then they can do so. Rick's style is more letting the band do what they want and he just chimes in on whether the songs are good or not. Metallica actually wanted to change their sound and Bob helped them with it.
>>124170536He found SOAD at Whiskey a go go
>>124170643>found someone who was already making gigs at the most prestigious club in the country for bands
>>124170691Go to Whisky Agogo's website right now and tell me you know any of the bands coming up
>>124170771>judging modern club booking with 90s era pre internet vetted booking
>>124167345He's right
>>124170979>goalposts: moved
>>124170691It's a club that fits a few hundred people. There's nothing prestigious about that. The Sunset strip was full of rock clubs similar to the whiskey so there was nothing special about it.
>>124171122the whiskey is where countless metal bands made a name
>>124171140yes, they all started there, which means they aren't very selective on who gets to play there like you say they are.
>>124171122>nothing prestigious about whiskeyjust stop posting dude. you really don't know what you're talking about it and it's embarrassing to watch.
>>124171173I know it's a historical venue where a lot of bands played first played, but the argument is that it was some sort of high-end venue where only popular bands played is bullshit. Bands played there, got popular over time, and they moved on to bigger venues. Anon was saying that since SOAD played there, then they must've been popular already. If they were already popular then they;d be playing in bigger venues and not some club that fits a few hundred people.
>>124167795>he would bring in this plate of shit. I assume it was food. It was bluish green. It smelled like someone had just plunged a fucking toilet somewhere. And he would eat it as fast as he could just get it in there, all over himselfwhat was it?

>>124167795Rick Ruben has Judge Holden as an assistant?
>>124167115You only think he did nothing because you don't know anything about music production. Yes, go on, post the anecdote from the braindead goyslop band who said he ate a bag of crisps in the studio. I'm sure he knows what he's talking about and isn't just upset that he wasn't allowed to have it his way on the project.
