>>124172883Your chart is strangely similar to mine, and the Mercury Rev single is extraordinarily based.Disco Inferno - The 5 EPsHalf Japanese - Charmed Life>>124172924I find that Unwound fans are always resistant against Fugazi, any reason why?Sonic Youth - Sonic Nursefor something harsherNaked City - Leng tch'e>>124173097It feels like this chart progresses towards Animal Collective, their Paw Tracks label has a much of stuff I think you'd like
>>124173751>I find that Unwound fans are always resistant against Fugazi, any reason why?you probably think that because of a handful of spam posting retards on this boardfugazi were an obvious direct influence on unwound so it would be pretty dumb to discredit them
>>124173751I always feel a complete disdain towards post-hardcore from unwound fans
>>124174640
>>124172883Is there an alternative site to topsters that includes the "Custom" option? Because topsters corrupts images for me for some reason.
>>124172883Would you happen to have a download link for that Beef album, or their second one? Not on slsk. Also liking the sound of Frog Power. They're the only two I hadn't heard of on your chart, the rest is all in my rotation. Good taste. Best Death in June album. Best Sonic Youth album.>>124172924Many nostalgic sounds. Despondent Transponder sounds like Cranes doing shoegaze, very good. 2nd best Sonic Youth album. Thanks for reminding me about Pinback.>>124173097Disturbing lack of Camel in that wall of prog. Joe's Garage is best Zappa album. Do you actually enjoy the Japanese jazz fusion stuff or just weeb?>>124173751Strange atmospheres abound. Hats is great for testing new speakers and headphones.
>>124177084what i've listened to here is good>Disturbing lack of Camel in that wall of progi had a hard time fitting everything in, i feel like i should make a 12x12 just to squeeze the last little bit in>Do you actually enjoy the Japanese jazz fusion stuff or just weeb?both. i am a weeb, but i legitimately think those albums are great. if i was just putting them on to be weeby, i would have put more anime soundtracks on.>>124173799i like this grid, mostly metal and grunge with hints of a calmer side.>>124173751gonna be honest, haven't listened to anything on this grid. i'll give a few a listen. which album on your grid should i start with?>animal collectivei don't hate them, but i don't love them. i've heard some stuff that i liked. a friend made me sit through strawberry jam and that really turned me off of them.

>>124178365NTA but Strawberry Jam is probably one of their least approachable albums outside of the totally out there stuff like Danse Manatee, it's my personal favorite but probably not the best to start on. From a cursory look at your chart I'd probably recommend Sung Tongs as a starting point; a lot of people start with Merriweather Post Pavilion too, it leans more into the electronic sensibilities in their newer stuff but isn't quite as harsh as Strawberry Jam.
>>124172883Oh damn, Minimal Man and Bad Moon Rising? Nice, man. I'm not seeing any Helios Creed though, you ever dig into his stuff? Besides that I'd recommend maybe some psychdelic rock era Ramleh like Boeing and Blood and Chocolate by Elvis Costello

These aren't my favorite albums, just the best of what I've listened to q3 of 2024.>>124172883Since you like Primus and Daniel Johnston, please try The Residents.>>124173097I think you and I would get along well. I just started listening to Focus and the first 2 albums are incredible.>>124177084You're a unique and rebellious individual. Try David Javelosa's Atomic Odyssey, as well as his old band Los Microwaves.>>124178485A Ronnie Foster chad!!! YES. Greatest jazz organ, better than Lonnie Smith. Hmmm, all I can really recommend now is Lonne LISTON Smith, a different guy. His album Exotic Mysteries is cosmic.
>>124172883Never heard of Minimal Man and only just decided to check it out because of your chartFew songs in and it's already a contender for the chart>>124173799>The Smiths>Sisters of Mercy>Candlemass>XasthurCool chart, gonna have to check out the few albums I don't recognize
Any alternatives to topsters and zopsters?
I can't post quote because the site thinks it's spam. I don't know how the rest of you are doing it.But here's my recommendation to every single poster in the thread: LISTEN TO THE MOTHERFUCKING PURPLE GANG.
>>124198359And while I'm at it, a couple more recs that I'd give to literally everyone:Look Inside the Asylum Choir by The Asylum ChoirCarney by Leon Russell
Does anyone else have upwards of hundreds of lossless albums downloaded? Also my favorite Pearl Jam album is Vitalogy and Foo Fighters is better than Nirvana by a large margin.
>>124200512>Does anyone else have upwards of hundreds of lossless albums downloaded?nope and this is why
>>124184473This is genuinely sad. Go back to tiktok.
>>124200528I have 460 albums and it's only 220gb. Unless you're downloading only 24 bit then I don't see how this is possible. And anyways ssds are insanely cheap nowadays, I have 1tb of storage for music alone.
>>124173799\gastr del sol is cool>>124187910Genesis Ch.1 V. 32
>>124172883STP is great.
>>124200512>upwards of 100I have upwards of 3000 albums in .flac. Almost 8TB.
>>124201309I have 460 which is a lot considering I only have shit that I actually enjoy and listen to consistently. I doubt you listen to all 3000 albums. And how the fuck is 3000 albums 8TB, at most it'd be 2TB. Maybe you're downloading a lot of 24bit music or something but I don't see the point, human ear can't tell the difference on most hardware at that point.

>>124201356Didn't specify but my nearly full 8TB music NAS also has a bunch of Blu-ray rips of live performances and shit like that. I also have high res scans of obscure record sleeves and so forth. I digitise a lot of old vinyl records myself and make them available on Soulseek, some of them aren't available anywhere else (online). My heavy rotation is somewhere in the order of 500 albums, but I usually listen to at least one new album in full, every day.
>>124201748I bet you don't even play an instrument. Instead of listening to a new album everyday (holy shit, so cool, wowwwwzers, oh my goshness what a flex) I either play the guitar and sing or do digital art. Idk why you have to humble brag wasting time, unless you're a geezer or something.
>>124201559you love your hard rock and hair metal huh, based for the boston album and dio stuff though.you should give faith no more a listen, mike patton will blow your head.
>>124202377i loved faith no more hardcore for a while, still jam it sometimes. to be honest though it is the only patton project i liked, never liked bungle of fantomas or w/e
>>124201559You have the same taste in music as my 56 y/o bossCheck out Amebix, if you haven't alreadyhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kE7YoeVB6us
>>124202573long known em, but they sound like a worse venom to me ngl. like, i like some punk stuff but it never measures up to metal cause i like guitar playing. i love the misfits, for example, but i can't justify putting them above anything on my chartamebix is cool though, but to me venom scratches that itch more. there is a band called english dogs, who is a really cool blend of punk/metal that i likehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MKnqnJXcgI&list=PLxrT6hNUYjJ2WQafkfpAzLPhJpG4VxfuPalso, tank and holocaust sound very punky
