Can't answer to your questions OP as I recently started to explore the Beatles' discography. I grew up knowing only the classic songs (I remember when my grade school teacher integrated their songs into our lessons for some reason) and realized I only scratched the surface. Their ability to cross genres and the evolution of their style are impressive, no idea why it took me so long to develop an interested regardless of my final opinion on them.

I appreciate Revolver as a major achievement but I never had that deeper connection with it. It's neither as emotionally resonant as Rubber Soul nor as enjoyable or inviting as Sgt. Pepper, and not as cohesive as either.
