sticky is catchy
>>124187871Gay nigger alert!
I'm up to Judge Judy and I normally don't like to speak on how I feel about an album until I give it a few listens but this is kinda disappointing, and I'm a huge Tyler fan.
>>124187871Imagine liking this.

Liking this more than I expected. A few stinkers but pretty good overall.
Its mid. I have not listened to it yet
its okay
>>124189232Based.
Take Your Mask Off is pretty good.
Almost crosses over into weirdo coomer territory
>>124189263I take it back, that shit made me do a stank face, that was crazy.
I thought the first three tracks were fantastic. But after that it turned into a mixed bag of solid tracks and weaker tracks. The production was consistently good. Lyrics a little less so. Overall I’d say it’s pretty good. I don’t think it quite reaches the level of his best albums though.
>tranime faggot finally realizes that pandering to normies robs you of your potential
>>124189328peggy's last album was pure kino though
This album feels like a gangsta who you can tell is actually just a soft little guy. It feels very gangsta "rappy" but the lyrics get pretty deep and sensitive.
Interesting time for a rapper to release an album where he raps about living an outrageously sexually promiscuous celebrity party lifestyle. Is Diddy here? Can he hear us right now?
Some of them sound great, others sound like something you'd hear off Lisa: The Painful, and a couple were total snoozefests. Hard to give it a proper opinion because Tyler isn't an artist I regularly listen to but for me, I'd probably chuck a couple songs on my playlist and forget about the rest. It'd be nice if he went back to more hard shit like Yonkers and Who Dat Boy but his audience are mostly white chicks looking for Joji knockoffs so hats off to him for chasing the bag.
>>124189368>It'd be nice if he went back to more hard shit like Yonkers and Who Dat BoyThere was a lot of this on CMIYGL.
>>124189351That's the entire point of the album
>>124189343that is the one exception
I was expecting something more conceptual from an album with this art direction.
>>124189395I figured.
>>124189351that's all gangsta rap post-nwathat's why normies only listen to mumble rappers these days (future, carti, lil [insert name]), all their songs talk about the same (i have bitches, i have money) and they gladly eat that crap
I like it
The album in which bro comes in here looking like Dagoth Ur so he can tell us about his sex orgies.
>>124189400right.. lean into the military aesthetic and make a heavy rap album.

"St. Chroma" till "Darling, I" had me thinking maybe this was going to be different but then he just slides back into Flower Boy again. Hopefully he moves on at some point, you can only keep making the same album forever.
>>124189703Yeah the album cover and then the beginning of the album had me thinking he really switched up his style.
Not gonna lie. This shit was so mid. Glad that people are clowning on him.
>>124189770>drake pfp
It’s not as good as Flower Boy or IGOR, but it’s definitely a big step up from the disappointment that was Call Me If You Get Lost, and that’s enough for me.
why does the brass on the 2nd part of Sticky sound like something I would hear on a Hopsin production

>>124189609i didn't see it at first but I'm relistening to Rah Tah Tah and i can see it now

>>124189882Tyler's top 3 is bastard wolf and Igor

Didn't like this as much as Flower Boy. I did like it more than Igor but I don't think that's an opinion I should openly admit.
Is there any song worth listening to? I tried to listen to “Sticky” (only cuz I recognized Timbaland and Lil Wayne in the credits) and it was OK, kinda forgettable. Also, it’s so funny that Tyler fans were crying that Sexyy Redd was on the Camp Flog Gnaw lineup, but now, she officially got Tyler’s cosign, so she’s good now. So goofy.
did this nigga really write a song about being in a polycule lol
>>124189979Take Your Mask Off goes insane.

>>124187871It's meh and I bet Fagtano is gonna shit on it hard (although it doesn't deserve hard shitting, it's just meh, not awful).I am also predicting he will dislike Sticky despite it being one of the best tracks.
>>124190040He'll give it a 7 and he'll like Sticky because it has Sexy Red on it.
>>124190040>I am also predicting he will dislike Sticky despite it being one of the best tracks no way man fagtano would prase it for empowering women or some shit but then hate on Wayne's verse despite it being the only good part of the song

>>124190794I’m sorry my friend :)
There were a few good songs, but in the end it was quite underwhelming. At this point I think we should just pass a law that makes it illegal for Tyler to listen to soul and r&b music. That shit is rotting his brain. I understand that it's an actually interesting genre if you're a musician (harmony-wise this clearly is his most theoretically advanced album), but he has played with these harmony concepts for too long, and at this point it sounds stale. We get it, you can compose a bridge, now compose one that doesn't sound like 1000 songs I've already heard.
St. Chroma sold me something the rest of the album didn't deliver on. Disappointing to be honest, just felt like retreading old ground. Do something new nigga , damn

Like Him is really good
i didn't think it was too bad, not nearly as much of that annoying wish.com pharrell r&b lounge sound as you guys had me expecting. as with most albums these days, it would be better if it were 10 minutes shorter but overall not bad
he's not gay anymore but somehow his lyrics get faggier and faggier

I just want bangers. Igor was a mistake.
I really like Thought I Was Dead
>>124192934I meant he got over his "wanting to fuck white boys" phase
It’s average. Kind of disappointing cus I know he can do a lot better. Igor is his peak and some of CMWYGL is really good too. He’s just spinning his wheels with this new one. Hope he takes 4 or 5 years off to make a masterpiece but he likes the spotlight too much and will probably put out another 6/10 in a couple years which sucks.
>>124193004I don't think there's even any evidence of him being gay. He's just doing it for brownie points to get reviews about being the groundbreaking lgbtxyzqtnabcd POC raper, p4k only gives 9+ ratings to queers and ugly white women now.

this nigga did it again1. wolf2. bastard3. cherry bomb4. chromakopia5. call me if you get lost
>>124193776cherry bomb sucked ass
>>124187871In my opinion Tyler needs an executive producer. Or to work with a new producer. This is the same sound with the same songs since Chery Bomb. Do something different, theatrics of the rollout cannot distract from these being the same songs that could have appeared on anything he has made since 2015.
>>124187871>People pretending this Collier with Coon babble is goodHRT and its consequences...
>>124187871It's ass, lads.
Hard to say if it has problems or it’s just not for me. First listen was pretty underwhelming: didn’t feel like there were a lot of hits, a lot of songs didn’t feel like they had unique identities, the lyrics felt weak, and it didn’t feel like the album had any cohesion or theme at all. On a second listen it’s not that bad, but still not great (imo). Some songs stand out in a good way, some in a bad way, but it feels like there’s a lot of fluff or fat that could have been trimmed from both the songs and the whole album. It ends up feeling like a B-side collection of songs that didn’t make it onto his last 3 albums mixed in with some new material. It’s like he was on the cusp of going in a completely new direction but still felt his flower boy sound had more juice left to squeeze out, and I think the album suffers for that. Maybe he’s uninspired at the moment, maybe he’s tired, or maybe he doesn’t know what he wants to do next. At the end of the day I hope he got whatever he wanted out of this, maybe this is the album he needed to make to let the next 11/10 come out in 3 years.
It's mid. And it's not like CMIYGL where people called it shit at first but then learned to appreciate it with time, this one's just boring.
>>124187871this feels like him trying to do igor again and failing

Tyler has been milking the same sound for almost a decade at this point. Never compare him to Kanye, Tyler can't make a masterpiece like Yeezus. Even Utopia was more cutting edge and experimental than this
So we can all agree the gay angle was artificial and he only took it because of the backlash from churry bong right?hes He’s back to rapping about bitches, threesomes etc

>>124196563speaking of CMIYGL I cannot remember a single track off of that album and this one felt even more hollow
>>124196616Yeah I honestly dislike CMIGYL after the dust settled because of>the money porn theme>the travel porn theme (talking about Switzerland and boats) while I'm just dealing with the drudgery of wageslaving and not being allowed to travel abroad until next May (still broke btw) thanks to the gaslighting storm that was BAT SOUP-19 quarantine>no actual memorable tracks outside of the one where he cries recounting the time he nearly fucked someone else's girlHopefully Chromakopia confirms that Tyler's done with music, or about to do a retirement/legacy album proper so he can be a film producer or whatever the gay fuck he wants to do. Turns out everyone wants to be their own boss and not work at all. One more thing about the music, it's a concerning amount of references to fucking any woman that he wants. It's about to get weird if he doesn't provide one more update on how he's responsible for being a fuckup focused on lust or confirm that he put that shit aside and finally got into a stable relationship.
>>124196762>the travel porn themei dont get how normies can listen to these albums its literally a rich jew yapping in your ear about how free he is compared to you.So much hiphop is like this its weird

As usual, more mid shit from Tyler. Ohh it’s so cringe how he thinks he’s really in his singer songwriter era. Fantano, /mu/ and rym managed to gaslight people into thinking IGOR was good, Igor was is and has been really shit, flower boy, call me if you get lost, and now this shit, it all sucks bad. He’s trying way too hard to be deep, and have some unique aesthetic and message. First it was “ohh wow im a half gay black guy who used to be edgy but now im sensitive n shit”Now it’s “im an empowered black guy wahh being a celebrity is so weird and hard, oh my generic interpersonal, relationship and familial issues oh im being so vulnerable”shtick it’s just so inauthentic, unoriginal and uncreativeTyler unironically was at his best when he was being an unpretentious edgy no fucks given unserious odd future rapper. I know I’m echoing a lot of other people already, but it was really disappointing how this album started off so strong only to just fall into a bunch of Flower Boy b-sides. I was expecting a new style with a concept or a at least a point to this whole aesthetic. But really, it’s a few fresh tracks and then just more of the usual from Tyler. Good production, weak writing, lacks focus - very meh overall. 6/10

It’s hard to really emotionally connect with “Like Him” when we’re right back to the coomer sex bars on the next track. It’s all disconnected and unfocused. I don’t think Tyler had a clear vision for this album.
>>124199581Yeah the virtue signaling from Judge Judy and Balloon really kills whatever argument (that being a position to take) he had going as a person, it's rather tired and expressing a midlife crisis despite having a radical transformation in 2017. I don't count I Killed You as I think it's a cheesy, but sincere and simple story about black hair in media and aesthetics. In fact, I think he just dumpstered every track after Darling, I until he got his shit together for Take Your Mask Off's first verse. Even then it rings hollow, I personally understand that he's been holding an anti-gangster rap and anti-gang culture stance since he's lived in a California suburb until he blew up. Of course he'd know this and tell the story of that song from that perspective. And then the virtue signaling continues after that until he gets bored and transitions to Tomorrow. And from Tomorrow, Thought I Was Dead. It really is an unfocused album that can't effectively land transitions, like a bad skate combo in Tony Hawk Pro Skater, and land tonal consistency. Just what the fuck ever. Did he pussy out with putting his heart on paper after Darling, I? I still can't get over how Balloon just fucks things.
>>124199677I agree with everything you said. >Judge JudyThat was the moment that I fully realized something had gone wrong. I physically cringed to that song.
>>124199718I actually meant to say Hey Jane in place of Darling, I. But the track list as is really doesn't work as a concept/narrative album about his personal life interspersed with more casual music. Tyler still has a problem with putting his heart on the line after fucking it up with Balloon though.
I cant fucking stand that dick comment from his mom. What the fuck, bro? Really shits all over the otherwise really good and emotional track that is Like Him. I get you have an entire early discography of weird shit, I've listened to all that shit, but this ain't the time nor the place.
>>124198431>used to be edgy but now im sensitive n shitTyler was always sensitive, he just stopped making music for mosh pits
>>124189366No kidding. The whole thing is really uncomfortable given what we’re learning about the criminal debauchery running rampant in the music industry.
>>124189366>where he raps about living an outrageously sexually promiscuous celebrity party lifestylehe doesn't though
>>124199877Honestly I think it was a bit of banter fucking with Tyler over the phone like that. Culturally, I think it's just a thing to tease you about your nakedness and vulnerability as a babe when being taken care of by a parent or trusted adult. They have to wipe your ass and switch diapers after all, I don't think it's outrageously at your expense. Considering the phone call ends with her admitting she kept Tyler's dad away from reuniting with him, and taking responsibility and apologizing for that, I think it's to create a narrative to make you realize this was her version of soft-balling the topic.
in which Tyler desperately tries to merge his own style with that of the lamest Kendrick Lamar album.
>>124200085I think you're just a faggot who's not in it for the love of the game; it's an interesting thing to go through an album with some autobiographical tracks, if not something as ambitious as Mr. Morale's narrative of Kendrick addressing the trauma of growing up in '90s Compton and living around peers who end up dying or killing themselves in any kind of way
Darling I and Take Your Mask Off are the only listenable songseverything is else is meh
post the mega
>>124198544
>abortion song called hey jane which is a mail abortion pill company >next song is called i killed you
>>124200119>it's an interesting thing to go through an album with some autobiographical tracksIt totally could have been.
Is it whining about poor blacks in white america?
>>124200537no its about how he knocked up a 35 year old and she got a abortion
production is fucking exhausting genuinely what is even the point of releasing this slop
>>124200600we only use the term slop for movies, this is the music board
>>124200609FALSE
>>124187871gay zoomer music
I’m gay and I hate that people assume I like this retarded slop. Thanks for queerbating, Tyler, you pussy bitch.
Why is he trying to rebrand as Tyler Okonma instead of keeping his name as Tyler the Creator? Why is he such a tryhard faggot?
>>124201375He has said multiple times he dislikes that people still view him through the lens of his early work and don't take his music seriously.
>>124189343its his worst on streaming, he peaked with cornballs and vet
>>124202116>why don't people take my """""""art""""""" seriously>and i'll stab bruno mars that fucking faggot through his goddamn esophagusA true mystery
>>124187871its alright i expected a new sound from him but its just a mashup of everything he did previously. some cool lyricism and features but it doesn't land at all for me. all the noteworthy tracks are on the backend. earl is still miles clear of tyler
>>124196416808s is by far his best album
>>124202148It's Late Registration.
Highlights were the horns, album needed more horns and maybe one more banger playlist track. Too many deep cuts about his family or abortion or shit. I wish more of the podium hiphop artists weren't afraid of making high tempo high energy music, even kanye is filling his albums with garbage about his family or love and shit. More Thought I was Dead, less Hey Jane. Tyler wants to be MF DOOM so bad but continues to produce the same glittery WOLF era beats to cry about being lonely over. We're tired of it bro.CMIYGL could have been that album but honestly it was mostly throwaways. Dogtooth was the only standout and it wasn't even on the base album.Sure I can go to westside gunn for big beats but I want hype hiphop that isn't braggadocious slop and it produced and written by actual pros. Everyone clowned on vultures 2 but field trip is a belter.>>124202137>earl is still miles clear of tylerthis has always been the case. Simply, struggle rap hits harder from someone who actually struggled.>>124202159And it's not even close
wow this shit is boring af
Kek he really wants to be Kendrick on " Thought I Was Dead". Even the fucking music video is trying to act like him
