Was (Frank) Zappa racist?
>>124197507sometimes probably, yeah
>>124197507He was based like that
>>124197507All that matters is that his music was terrible. But yeah probably, lot of people were back then.
>>124198171>his music was terribleNo it wasn't! He had a pretty unique style and most his stuff is quality
>>124198171Oh thanks. You reminded me to finish the Classic Albums documentary I was watching about Apostrophe & Overnight Sensation.

Yes of course, and it was a good thing
>>124198186freakout's the only good album he ever made retard
>>124197507I highly doubt it, he hung with black and hispanic and probably asian people in his early days, played in one of the few mixed bands. Also was high iq and could differentiate between traits of a group and an individual within that group.
>>124198171table 7 wants another bread baskettable 10 ordered another round of beerget to it
>>124197507Everyone is racist under the facade
>>124205154So he was a race realist, not a racist
>>124197507I guess I can’t expect everyone to do any amount of research on musicians they do or don’t listen to, but if you have this question of if he’s racist and you do a little research and exploration on the topic, you can find out he was a fan of black musicians growing up, one of his first bands in high school was an interracial band, the first actually in that area, he let a woman with a mixed (half black) child stay in his studio Z with him, he wrote the watts riot song, and a few others in which he literally directly condemns racism, and last he’s worked with a ton of black musicians in his own bands over the years. So no, the answer is no. There are literally only two reasons people ever ask this question. Because people mistake the mud/grease on his face on the Joes Garage album to be blackface, and because he said the word nigger once in one of his songs. But the use of the words was perfectly appropriate give the context. Not derogatory to blacks.
>>124198171Godawful guitar tone too
>>124205314It's the same thing now
