This was his best work
I disagree entirely, but he’s got a pretty good discography so there is bound to be some different answers. I think Flower Boy is my favourite one. I really like the production on that album.
>>124201878>"Oh yes it's widely regarded as his worst, but my third eye sees through the veil and recognises it for what it actually is.. a MASTERPIECE!!"Contrarianism for the sake of contrarianism doesn't make you smart. Experimental for the sake of experimental does not make it good. It's mixed like shit, has no overarching theme and completely misunderstands what made shit like exmilitary and yeezus successful with their abrasive sounds. Should have stayed in the lab, it's so underbaked the centre is still raw. What was the point of this album exactly?
>>124202111There’s no way it’s worse than goblin
>>124202174Goblin at least knew what it wanted to be, a spooky edgy halloween album about murdering people and failing therapy
>>124202111> the brown stains> 2seater> smuckers> okaga, catouch grass and you might get it
>>124201878It filtered millions.
The self titled song is a masterpiece in noise rap https://youtu.be/DwOyRejJ07Q?si=qm17gy8Ddq8E9FYo
Liked it quite a lot, but I can see how it can be divisive
I liked his three. After Goblin he got too popular and comes off as a try hard
>>124201878idk about it as an album, but 2seater is my favorite Tyler song
>>124204622>After Goblin he got too popular and comes off as a try hardYeh he does and idk why. Frank's stuff doesn't for some reason
>>124201878It's tied with CMIYGL for me. When I saw everyone hating on it in 2015, I was questioning if we even listened to the same album. The only thing people talk about related to this album is Smuckers, but I'm like, bitch, the whole album is full of bangers. It was just unfairly judged because it was released at a time when people wouldn't have wanted an album like this from Tyler, and now it's forgotten. Flower Boy just sounded like a watered down version of CB and just doesn't have the same excitement, impact or energy Cherry Bomb had. Still, I think more people started to see that they treated it too harshly which is good.I still remember that 3/10 Fantano gave it. An absolute piss take.
>>124202174How could you think Goblin was in anyway bad? I listened to it a few years ago and couldn't believe how good it was considering his age. Not only was the production really good, but the lyrics and his ability to make interesting themes and stories in his songs was excellent and still holds up. When I revisited the album a couple of years ago, I was expecting cringy edgy lyrics and amateurish beats, but it was as good as I remembered it. Even with the edgy stuff, you can just acknowledge it as him creatively playing a character like other artists do cross various genres where you might have the vocalist playing the role of a murderer or something, which is the type of theme that Transylvania played with. The album is certainly MAD, but it does sound well put together and effortful.
>new album comes out>retard mistakes being a contrarian for an interesting personality trait
>>124205349Cherry Bomb IS one of his best albums though. The audience just wasn't ready for it at the time.
>>124201878Both you, and all the faggots saying it's terrible in the replies are right. It isn't that it's actually good, it's that the acclaim of all his other shit is so laughably meritless that it's a lot easier to forgive this one for being so awful.
