Personally I prefer both The Moody Blues and CAN but I know for a fact that the shitni enjoy is probably more inspired by Pink Floyd than anything. I actually like Funkadelic too and even though I'm like pasty as shit yk celtic-german this was actually one of my first exposures to kismiche musik or similar ideas because my dad played them in the car. I also like Amon Düül ii so I respect Pink Floyd. They probably influenced a lot of stuff I really do enjoy, but they themselves I could never get into. They probably filter me or whatever. The Moody Blues sound more constructed to me as does Funkadelic as does CAN as does Amon Düül ii,but I respect them. Their sound doesn't appeal to Mr but I think they were great artists.

can you go a single thread only mentioning the artist on the matter, instead of a bunch of other unrelated artist instead?

Echoes or Shine On You Crazy Diamond

Psych era = Astronomy Domine

Normie era = Time

Actual best = probably nothing comes close to Echoes technically. Or most of Animals where they really progged out and got epic. Yes diamond too I suppose but I prefer Dogs

They're not unrelated at all dude. They're pretty similar. The Moody Blues,CAN,Amon Düül ii,Soft Machine,Funkadelic,Arzachel,Magma,Hawkwind,David Bowie, and a couple others can all be compared to Pink Floyd pretty easily. So can Mythos. There was a LOT of similar or inspired stuff from back then. To say the bands I just listed were totally unrelated to Oink Floyd in any way shape or form is a bit facetious.

These bands all probably either inspired, weee influenced,or were parallel to if you look deep enough. Big doubt that Amon Düül ii and Funkadelic and Pink Floyd and Arzachel and Soft Machine and CAN don't share at least SOME influences or something. The Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd also drew on one another frequently. Ash Ra Tempel and Group 1859 are also not dissimilar or Quicksilver Messenger Service for that matter just more countr overall than Jazz or science fiction shit.

i agree that it's Echoes with shine on you crazy diamond following it, but you're all sleeping on saucerful, that's certainly in the argument.
