Your dads were right. Springsteen is pure unadulterated kino.
Favorite albums and songs? What's his best live show?
>>
>>124454551
I think his NJ concert in '85 was probably the best
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsgPJoBLbFU
>>
For me it's DOTEOT, The River and Nebraska. It's also Prodigal Son, Winterland '78. Tight as fuck.
>>
i lost respect for springsteen after he started getting hair implants and face work done.
so much fo the humble modest blue collar everyman... he's a vain phony like the rest of them, a charlatan
>>
>>124454551
41 Shots and Ghost of Tom Joad are the only ones I can say I like. Working on a Dream comes to my mind so that one too
>>
>>124454624
Here's the trick. The blue collar everyman is also a vain phony, just without millions of dollars to act on it.
>>
>>124454668
...and I'd be lying if I said I couldn't rock out to Born to Run. That's four.
>>
>>124454699
clearly has hair plugs, even in that pic

>Favorite albums and songs?
Nebraska is my favorite, and Used Cars is one of my fav songs. Reminds me of being a kid, and all we could ever afford was a used car.

Now my ma she fingers her wedding band
And watches the salesman stare at my old man's hands
He's tellin' us all 'bout the break he'd give us
If he could but he just can't

Now mister the day the lottery I win
I ain't ever gonna ride in no used car again
Now the neighbors come from near and far
As we pull up in our brand new used car
I wish he'd just hit the gas and let out a cry
And tell 'em all they can kiss our asses goodbye
>>
>>124454551
Born to Run is a post-rock album and I can't be told otherwise.

As much as I love Nebraska, all his classic albums I think Darkness has aged the best in terms of relatability. It's the ultimate quarter life crisis album and its sentiments continue to be relevant and cathartic and take on new meanings in the social decay and wagecuck economy of the 21st century.

A Night for the Vietnam Vets... '81, I think?

The best official release is Tempe from the River box, but they split it up for some stupid reason. Here's the entire show:

The best live shows are probably the one's that he didn't actually preform, due to him standing up for trans rights and fighting against Corona virus.

>>124454551
he is the reverse clint eastwood. the faggy leftard feminist chinese made version of clint.

Just marathoned Winterland 1978, the Roxy 1978 and Nassau Coliseum 1980 almost back to back. I think I'm all Bruced out after that but it was a hell of a ride.
>>
>>124454551
"Hungry Heart" is one of the greatest pop songs of all time. Up-tempo enough to get you dancing, catchy as all hell with immaculate early 80s production, and some feelsy lyrics.

Honestly one of my favourite songs ever.
>>
>>124454551
Wrecking Ball, The Ties That Bind, The Rising, The Ghost of Tom Joad, and Murder Incorporated are my favorite songs of his
>>
>>124454551
My father isn't into Bruce Sprigsteen that much. The only vinyls he bought from him was Nebraska and The River
>>
>>124454551
Saw him live a few days ago and it was excellent. The E Street Band is still so solid and they all bring an incredible energy for a bunch of dudes in their 70s. Born to Run is my favourite Bruce album - it’s the normie choice but I believe it’s the right on in this case.
>>
>>124454551
He's lame as fuck, soft rock is just embarrassing
>>
>>124463136
Man, that’s one of those songs that makes a person feel like they could take on the whole world. I had tears in my eyes when I heard it live.
>>
>>124469556
>soft rock is just embarrassing
Is it really?

>>124462027
I used to think it was a bit bloated but now I think it’s worth the extra runtime. Brilliant album.
>>
>>124469554
A lot of the so-called “normie” choices about older music are pretty damn good. They’ve withstood the test of time. Born to Run is an exceptional album and people have known it for almost 50 years now.

Last night at Wembley? Great gig, probably the single best surprise of the Live Archive series. If there's one Bruce live album to absolutely have it's this one, imo.
>>
I find some of his most beloved albums and songs to be overrated and I think his overall persona is pretentious and phony. But the River, Born in the USA and even The Rising (post-9/11 album that hasn’t been mentioned yet) are all at least really good albums, bordering on great. I also like his and the E Street Band’s live cover of “Trapped” a lot.

The original live arrangement Prove It All Night is technically crescendo core

I feel the same about Dolly Parton. She was aging really well into her 50s and then took the bogpill for no reason.
