Not even remotely. At a bare minimum, to be a boyband, all the actual members have to sing and/or rap. And regularly at that. Even then, I wouldn't call a group like, say, The Beatles or even The Monkees boybands. They were just rock bands, regardless of only one group forming in an authentic fashion.

The only groups from the time that resemble what would become boybands were groups like The Osmonds and The Jackson 5, as all their members regularly sang, and even danced. Which made sense, as they started off as barbershop groups. Both have far better claims towards being the first boyband than The Beatles. Though Menudo's probably a better camdidate for the actual first boyband.
