Up Jumped the Devil... A song so simple and easily sung. So vivid and clear. You can observe the same old "Faustian undertones" as the title suggests. It's the perfect song to enjoy while drinking brandy. That being said, the importance is not its simplicity or message or undertones... the importance here is the vocals and how they "dance" with the instruments.

Mercy Seat...Another song I deeply enjoyed. This one is not about damnation. Its about repentance or maybe even empathy with people on death row depending on your perspective. The problem with this song is the vocals. I never enjoy Cave's vocals. Cash did this song justice through his masculine, hard, rough and astute voice that goes perfectly with the "Organ". Mercy Seat is just... improper without the Organ.
