No idea how much I’ve spent. It’s 7c a click n 50c for 1k impressions. $25 will get about 500 plays and 50k impressions on reddit. Its scalable. Reddit has 70 million daily users. 4chan ads cost 10x less 5c per 1k but it’s auction based and 4chan is a shit hole. I got to over 250 million impressions on 4chan over 3 years but the actual plays u get are epically dogshit. Like u can get 1m impressions in a day n get like 20 plays. Reddit is much better for plays and engagement. U get a central comment section too on reddit my new ad is up to 171 comments but my old ad was running for 5y n had 13k comments. I’d recommend reddit ads to any shill.

SINGLE FOR UPCOMING ALBUM (Hyperpop/Hip Hop)

>I have an album releasing on Jan 1st 2025
>The following is a single from that album
>Lyrics are in description
https://youtu.be/G7Y46kUFlgM?si=7YyMp3HQN2xfAuE4

RECS:

>>124800632
>I love how you sampled "Layla" by "Dereck and the Dominos"
The cover art is really cool, first song bored me after a while, but still relistenable
I commented: "Cathode Rays in my favorite, its INTENSE"
The bass in that track is very tight, I will add to my playlists if it's on Spotify

>>124800650
>The 2nd link is one of the warmest songs I've ever heard, it reminds me of something that would play in Minecraft when you're all alone
I commented: "I really like this, its comforting and catchy, rarely does a song make me feel so much peace"

>>124800708
>I reference Luigi multiple times in the song I posted above, he's a hero lol
I adore your song "I care about your existence"
The drums in that track are amazing, startled me at first cause they're so boomy
Also did you sample Micheal from Vsauce around 1 minute in? Lol
The vocals make no sense, but I love them
This whole song I'm feel confused, yet intrigued, like a book I can't put down
Really near cover art too

>>124800837
>Accela is really well made, sounds great, would wanna jam it on a road trip
The drums sound GREAT

>>124802117
>WOAH THIS IS GOOD, genuinely a hidden gem, my favorite song of the night
Just, wow
Also hope u aren't too hungover now lol
>>
>>124802315
Surely this is a troll right? You’ve got to know why your music would be unpalatable to most people. It’s very amateur, the mixing, the synth, drum and vocal work going on. It’s very thin stuff. There’s a million and one low quality bedroom musicians doing the exact same kind of low effort stuff you’re doing. So essentially you are not doing much to differentiate yourself from the bottom of the barrel. It’s just like you talking loudly over aimless uninteresting instrumentation.
Your whole aesthetic is pretty questionable, like you just come across as the most amateur meme musician. Again you’re uploading your shit with bad childish scribble art as the pic, i guess you’re not taking it that seriously then right?

you need to work on the core elements of not being annoying and properly tune in to why people shill their music. there's no recs, no feedback, the music is bad and almost all of your posts are unrelated to anything. Fuck off to your discord or facebook and learn to take criticism because this isn't good

I'm >>124811258. desu, this is jungle and not breakcore, breakcore generally have layers of amen break samples on top of each other and/or the samples are way more chopped than this. BUT as a jungle and not breakcore it's fine but would put a dnb drop at 3:00. have potential.
about the art, it's fine, nothing more or less to say.

>It's also, to date, the most popular song I've ever released

https://youtu.be/XpGNro6v6Ww?si=7-I2ItxxlcaaBOlX

RECS:

>>124812268
I listened to this last time, I still think it's amazing!, cover art really intrigued me too

>>124811258
I really like this, the sound of it is overbearing but clear enough where I can hear melody, such awesome mixing
The cover art and title both interested me very much, and fit the vibe well

>>124809901
THE BEST Song I've ever found on /mu/
I commented "You're a God, please make more, I'm dancing to this and smoking dank, I love EVERYTHING about this song and the lyrics lol"
First time I've straight up danced to a /mu/ song, it's very B-52s + Feeding Fingers
Oh and the art is phenomenonal

I did. I tried making frogs first but fuck me. How do you even make a frog? I'm using VCV Rack and the image is the patch itself. No samplers here if you can tell. (Though it's very zoomed out)
My Soundcloud isn't anything like this. It's literally just me learning and posting what I enjoyed enough to listen to myself. Sort of ambient, some beaty things.
I like https://soundcloud.com/user-940266178/fixed-rack-explorations because it's my go at making different patches with the same fixed rack from someone else.
At least a few anons in here have enjoyed it as well. That's been enough for me really. This just sounded cool enough to not share.
It's been a while since I posted anything in the shill thread. I'm just having fun, not trying to be big.

Thanks for reading my blogpost I guess.

>>124806128

>>124820318

Just released a "re-mixed" and "remastered" version of my most recent composition. I kept the demo/initial mix up for comparisons sake and to track progress since I really have little to no clue of what I'm doing production wise. Just trying to follow my ear. More into composition.

This was nice, man. You keep a tune well with your voice and I liked the lyrics. The music matched it nicely. I also dig that epiphone you're playing.

>>124852814
Too crunchy, harsh, and lofi to be radiohead, but you know what, its better to try and fail to be anywhere near radiohead land because then you end up sounding like yourself instead of an obvious rip. All of that is to say that you have your own thing going and thats good. Kind of reminds me of the album leaf meets dirty beaches or something.

advertising your music is a good thing (lord knows i need to) but at least for me i don't understand why you all keep advertising the same months/years-old songs over and over
i participated in a handful of threads months back and you were shilling the same tracks
and your posts seem to always be at the beginning of threads, are you avoiding actually interacting with these threads?

>>124800650
some nice laid back beats, not my thing but you've got a good vibe going on

>>124801314
i don't understand this EP, it just sounds like semi-ordered noises to me
but i can tell you that your semi-ordered electronic noises would sound a lot better with some mixing
at the moment your lows/subs are really muddy and it makes them hard to pick out
your highs are also like nonexistent, so your tracks lack any brightness or texture
picrel is the average frequency distribution of one of the songs on that EP, note the lack of practically any frequencies above ~3k Hz
that is killing the sound of your music, you gotta do something about that

>>124801416

>>
>>124801820
solid musical base and good ideas but personally i can't enjoy the song because i find the autotune over the top

>>124802117
wow yeah this is really good
> (Untitled #1)
thought it was going to keep repeating the laid-back motif but it broke into a solo, good album opener
> To Catch and to Hold
wtf was that jump from the first track ;-;
good on you for not autotuning, i appreciate that
however, the vocals on this track could definitely do with doubling/harmonies because they're too thin atm
good to keep in mind for future work probably
> Doubles
i like your voice on this
guitar at the end is also nice
> Wind
consistent very high frequency noise that hurts my ears but otherwise a very nice ambient track
> 19
dug the garage rock feel on this track
> Below the Wheels
you may consider remaking this one because i feel it has a great deal of unrealized potential
> Eyes
god, this one would also justify a remake
the piano ain't it and i can totally hear how this track could be
to be clear, it's decent as is but isn't far at all from great
the structure is all there, it's just not all executed on well
> The Corridor
this was cool

overall i would say that your music is held back by a lack of production, but your songwriting and composition are high quality
>>
>>124802298
oh hey dude i remember you from threads a while back, hi (:
your instrumental mixing sounds pretty good on these tracks, if geared towards low-fidelity soundsystems
something about your vocals just is NOT hitting right though
it feels like they're sitting "in line" or "behind" the instrumental voices
it almost sounds like you applied reverb in post to your vocals and instead of hearing your voice at the front of the mix i'm hearing it as if i were at the end of a studio room you're singing in
unsure what exactly is going on there but yeah apart from that, pretty solid stuff
your vocals really do need to sit on top of the mix more though

> Drown the World in your Pyjamas
too dissonant for me
> Daisy Cutter
different vibe from the rest of the album and i really fw it

you still doing any electronic stuff?

>>124802315
half-baked if genuine

>>124802574
these tracks are very clean and sound professionally produced
good shit
not my cup of tea genre-wise but i believe you should have a high degree of confidence in sharing your music

>>124802578
it sounds like an alright ambient album with a smattering of trap samples haphazardly scattered over the top of it
if you're going to go the trap direction, full send it, because the sparse and somewhat decoupled drum tracks you have at the moment fail to constitute trap beats and prevent the songs from just being ambient
> trap metal
no, it's not, there's no metal ):<
ambient distorted guitar, sure, but that alone isn't metal

where is the drive? the energy? the purpose?
i took a look at some of your other stuff and it's also ambient in nature

>>124802617
aw hell yeah seems like you had fun covering this

avant-garde indeed, and killing it, good song

wonderfully unnerving

nice distortion on the lead synth

what brings you to the /mu/ shill thread? you seem better-established than most of the musicians that post here

> The President of the USA is Currently Being Sued for Complicity in what The Hague (in a recent 15-2 ruling) has called an Ongoing Genocide
> Netanyahu Cancels US Trip for Israeli Delegation
good vocal intonation

> The Old Gods Waken
this was a really cool listen
>(When They're On) The Night Shift
really could use some re-balancing though since there are a lot of voices not coming through properly
> Fight Back ("I Can't Hear the Guitar" version)
fav off the album
> A Visit
guitar that comes in ~4:00 is very cool

>>124805293
synth is too loud on the high (>10kHz) frequencies and so it's unpleasantly sharp
repeated vocal loop is warbled as if recorded playing off of a phone speaker
the quality of the samples you use makes a huge difference
solid framework for a song but i feel the execution just isn't there

>>124805595
i wasn't sold on it at first but i tried listening anyways and this is good shit
as far as i can tell, these are fully original songs, not just remixes of existing songs, good stuff

brutal song

nice noise rock

>>124806128
> Sunsets
a lot of the lower-pitched vocals on this song are too mixed-in with the instruments and don't come through properly
everything else on this song is fine
> Sunrise
intro to this is very good imo
repetitive but i don't feel it detracts from the track
vocals are drenched in effects and i love it
> Dreamer
i fuckin love the intense instrumental sections
i do feel that you could have sang directly over them instead of pausing for vocal segments
great bedroom rock
ending of the song had me nodding my head along
> Free-Fall
great guitar tone again
the MIDI drums do NOT work in the quieter section though
> Great Expectations
the MIDI drums do work here
still, some subtle randomized playback timing/velocity would do them well by humanizing them slightly and providing some variation, useful little trick to keep in mind
> Always

not breakcore, this is jungle
the synth ~0:22-~0:50 needs more texture/variation
there's one break ~1:52 that wasn't mixed properly and it throws me out of the immersion
the bass sounds okay but gets a little predictable, could use some modulation
overall this track sounds like someone's first attempt at making jungle, and i think you have a lot of room to grow because the track was by no means bad

Define what you mean by musicality. It does not btw, it is too repetitive and lacks variety, which was my criticism of it.

>>
>>124856972
> Define what you mean by musicality
it's hardly more than a little noodling around with an organ sound and it doesn't have any real defined structure
it is also repetitive but not in a particularly controlled or purposeful way
> Did you listen to all three links?
yes
>>
>>124856981
You didn’t listen to anyone

>>
>>124856981
Of course it's controlled, it's stays in the same place the whole way through, and it's a succession of notes and sounds in an organized mather, therefore music.

>Did you listen to all three links?
>yes
Then i don't understand how you can say it's "tonal noise" (again, doesn't mean much), Primavera II has literally two melodies going on at the same time, Blue Iris is quite basic and simple really, just a flute melody with moody organ accompaniment and a little "chka chka" percussion, and Frustração 7 engages some of the more "vocal" aspects of the recorder while also being somewhat of a nod to Luciano Berio's Gesti in my own way, but that one i can kinda of see someone dismissing as "tonal noise".

I’m very surprised and somewhat amused that my track has generated such a discussion.

Anon, I appreciate you coming to the defense of my track. The other anon dismissing it as “just sound” w/o musicality and structure clearly has a brain that for some reason or another can’t latch on to the simplest musical elements.

Theme, repetition, modulation, some counterpoint, etc. That’s all there and pretty obvious. You don’t have to like the track but it isn’t just “sound”. Thats just another way of saying that it’s meaningless noise.

I mean have you heard a lot the tracks in this thread?!? There are some much stronger contenders for the words you saved for my track.

https://youtu.be/QxTJqW5LGQA?si=fCPoMFDOPivSEnby

Having the most abrasive song as the opener is a great filter. If someone can't handle that track, they'll hate the rest. It works. Only 1 in 10 listeners make it past that one. Thanks for being one of the few to listen past it lol
>>
>>124857134
discussion is fine with me but i have little interest in discussing how i feel about a song
my interest lies in why i feel a way about a song
you are defending your music but my intent is not to attack
i went to bed last night and that's why i didn't give a more detailed description of why your 3 songs came off as tonal noise to me, let me rectify that:
> Primavera II
The opening with what sounds like sustained piano notes and recorder is nice enough but the repeated 6-note recorder motif isn't given enough time to develop before being cut off by an improperly mixed rain sound, breaking me out of the immersion
when the recorder comes back it is wavering and a little screechy, which makes it hard to lock onto a melody
on top of the wavering sound, the "melody" is slow-moving, which makes it hard to track in combination with the slight pitch deviations of the wavering
the overlapping recorders are also confusing and i cannot seem to pick out one from another, preventing me from latching on to a melody line
further, i find the dissonance unpleasant
@~1:00 the shift is nice enough but it just sounds like a couple grade schoolers trying to harmonize with recorders
it doesn't come off as confident and i can hear moving notes and some motifs but it really sounds like it's jumping all over the place without a clear direction
the upwards screech @~1:59 is particularly unpleasant
after about 2:00 i actually like the song, the voices aren't competing with eacthother as much so i can pick them out, the rain sound is mixed appropriately, and the melody isn't wandering around in large, disorienting steps
overall this song sounds like a juvenile attempt to make an artsy recorder piece and has a clear textural intent but a lack of melodic intent
so what i end up hearing is definitely tonal, but it's not properly structured and comes across as somewhat random, i.e. tonal noise
>>
>>124861469
>>124857134
> Blue Iris
i very much dislike the background on this song and find it clashes with itself
i think the harmonics intrinsic to whatever synth it is are dissonant and while i have no issue with that in and of itself, i think it does a great disservice to what would otherwise be a pleasant and bright fife sound
i am trying to appreciate the fife but the synth steals my attention
the fife melody is also slow, which does not lend itself well to recognizing the melody line
i also think the melody line for the fife is kind of boring at that speed
once again, a texturally developed, melodically stunted track
just because an instrument moves around in pitch in a tonal, quantized manner, does not mean it does so in an interesting way. i like the texture of this piece only
> Frustração 7 (Flauta doce)
i very much dislike the screechy and wavering recorder at the beginning of this track and find it unpleasant to listen to
up until ~1:00 the track consists of short bursts of largely unconnected noise that i fail to patch together into anything meaningful in terms of melody
as soon as the song gains any melodic momentum @~1:00 it loses it again @~1:15 and goes back into what sounds like a monkey trying to learn the recorder
the extended screech hurts my ears, sounds terrible, and is way louder than the rest of the track
i seriously dislike this song more than either of the others and find the extended screech on the back end offensive

>>124857674
here: >>124856959
when it comes to songs with vocals i feel they kind of make or break it because the brain naturally really latches on to a voice
i think it would do you well to send the vocals harder and put them more on top of the tracks
the music is aggressive and the vocals gotta match that energy (:<
the mixing for the vocals is keeping them from shining in that way imo
vocal training is always good and whatnot but it really does seem like a mixing thing
i would like to be clear that your album is good btw
>>
>>124858375
it was lel

>>124858880
wow, whatever stuff you did definitely improved the sound of this track
you still seem to be missing some sub-freq action (<60Hz) though that's keeping the low end from having much impact
i'm unsure on this but using disjoint notes instead of sliding between notes for the synth (at least in some sections) may also be to the track's benefit
that's largely what i meant when i said it sounded "soft" i think
overall i would say the track improved a lot but that's also according to me so take that as you will lol

>>124858881
mm yeah i like the textures of the samples + synths you selected
solid rhythm, groove, melodic motifs
it does sound like you mixed on headphones because the high end (>~7.5kHz) of the percussion is a bit too loud on open-air soundsystems
an easy fix in post with an EQ
quality shit, what a jam

>>124859404

Band recording pseudo-live album, how's audio sound? Song begins at 0:12 just crowd noise till then. 2000s Nu metal, pretty limp bizkit-y on this track with a bit of Korn sound and some RATM inspired guitar lead. Live performance taken from board, then we added layered vocals because it seemed like a good idea, and tried to make the bass exist because it ended up seeming too low to bassist. Thinking about doing a full demo live(ish) like this, seems to fit the style of music better than pure studio recording. We're also not playing on super expensive shit so it might also just be helping compensate for lack of better gear.

Reject musicality. Embrace sounds that feel good
>>
>>124864228
>>124863929

Lol, yeah we're trying to get the 'bootlegged concert tape' kinda vibe. We're aiming to hit a niche that is for some god damn reason returning, not sure why but the music we grew up on is back and we're trying to deliver the sound (and stage show) that we wanted to see/hear/experience when we were in high school.

That is musicality though, that guy is just way too conservative in his view of music.

Surely this is a troll right? You’ve got to know why your music would be unpalatable to most people. It’s very amateur, the mixing, the synth, drum and sample work going on. It’s very thin stuff. There’s a million and one low quality bedroom musicians doing the exact same kind of low effort stuff you’re doing. So essentially you are not doing much to differentiate yourself from the bottom of the barrel. It’s just like you placing the worst, most unlistenable sounds over aimless uninteresting instrumentation.
Your whole aesthetic is pretty questionable, like you just come across as the most amateur meme musician. Again you’re uploading your shit with a bad AI visualization as the pic, i guess you’re not taking it that seriously then right?

Thank you dude. TWU

>>124847332
Thanks man. You're prob right on the drum mix, I worry about them adding too much high end but I might have taken off too much. I also think your album is dope, those guitar parts go hard. Great mixing and performing. Love it anytime the synths (and experimental stuff) come out. I do agree with what someone else said about the vocals - They sound great, just the way it's presented feels weird. Maybe it needs more high-end? Or more layered vocals? idk. Either way I had a ton of fun listening.

>>124856821
Amazing feedback. Thank you for this. Love the breakdowns track by track, this is honestly invaluable. Vocals/lyrics I think might be my weakest part, so I try to hide them in the noise sometimes lol. That and some of the drum stuff I hope to improve with whatever I make next. But I'm really glad you liked it. I worried I'd just put this out and it would get lost in the void, so I'm glad parts of it seem to be connecting with people.

I appreciate your going back to listen and at least realizing that it wasn’t non-music I was making. Again, you or no one else has to like it (but glad to hear you did) or even think its good, but to read that it was “sound” without musicality and structure was a bit perplexing. I’m sure you understand.

No hard feelings, though, from my end. Apology accepted. You’re good. Kind of glad that discussion occurred anyways. Was really entertaining in a weird way.

in order to communicate musical concepts i have to use at least semi-standardized language

as for the organ song yeah i was wrong about that one, idk how i listened to that track and somehow didn't hear it

if you're talking about chevrette then fair enough, though you should be aware that track isn't really meant to be standalone
it's meant to accompany that one video of the deer playing in the ocean: https://youtu.be/MCGklS73wQE?si=s_u5_8v7eC-pk_sR

There’s unironically way too many people making garbage like you have made. If you think of yourself as an artist or someone who makes music there’s a 99.999% you’re part of the problem. Things were already bad with SoundCloud rap and indie land fill in the 2010s but ever since the pandemic every boomer and loser has bought themselves an instrument and thinks that gives them a right to shill their garbage everywhere. Try going to a jam or open mic night and you will see what I mean. There are 0 standards and faggots will fall back on “well uh this is just my hobby” as soon as they receive any pertinent criticism. That’s assuming anyone in the crowd has the balls to not just positivity spiral endlessly while making fun of the performers behind their back. If it’s your hobby keep it at home or with your friends. We’re not your friends.

i didn't like the crowd noise but i actually really do like the live feel here
the vocals feel a little decoupled from the rest of the song (which makes sense because they were recorded in a different physical space) but i do like the vocal delivery and style
i think you should totally do a full demo because this track is already good

I appreciate this a lot. Our vocalist is pretty iffy about his voice, we're technically just having him sing until we find another singer because he'd rather be on an instrument but we keep telling him that in this genre he's nailing it. I'll send this his way, sure he'll appreciate the kind words anon as will everyone else hearing the good feedback we've gotten. I figure if we get good feedback in a place where anonymity lets people feel no need to say anything nice at all, then we're definitely on a good track.
