Because they are grieving the death of a loved one, and doing a while list of terrible jobs, like selling off the possessions of their bother/dad/cousin/etc.
They aren't a store and you aren't their customer.

I'm not sure if Bowie carries the songs through his vocals or what but musically there's a lot going on even if the parts aren't complex

With enough force you could flex anything open. I tried bending it a little while it was detuned and it feels pretty solid, not actually separating or anything. But there has to be some level of progressive structural damage. The poly finish is supposed to be hard but brittle so it probably looks worse than it does on the inside but at some point it bent more than it was supposed to.

>>127600755
I'm just conflicted because I hoped it would last long enough for me to graduate to something of a higher price range since lateral jumps are demotivating but I don't feel good or invested enough in the hobby to get a 900+ dollar guitar so that's a bummer

I'm not throwing it in the trash but I also don't feel comfortable using the poor thing like you're supposed to. My current thinking is I'll get a new main guitar and keep this down in drop C and play some riffs sometimes. It's not like you're going to be shredding on a LP anyway so I might enjoy trying something different with better access to learn that stuff.

I'm thinking some type of Ibanez RG421 might be the cheapest you wouldn't hate playing while not expensive enough to cry too much about it. Opinions? Experiences?

Looking good application wise so far. I did not sand the fender logo all the way off as I didn’t want to take too much wood off. I was worried it would still be visible but it’s so faint at this point that if it’s still there after the next and final coat, I use it at a guide to place the water slide sticker directly on top. Whoever I bought them from did an excellent job scaling them perfectly. Honestly the wet sanding and buff out are the only phases that have me a bit intimidated, so far it’s been a very smooth process with the help of StewMacs ridiculously comprehensive videos on refinishing guitars..

it's possible that it could get worse but right now it just appears to be the finish. breaks are pretty easy to fix, there's no wood missing they just go back together. all i'm saying is you have time, it's just impossible to tell how much time

>I tried bending it a little while it was detuned and it feels pretty solid, not actually separating or anything

>>
>>127601380
Not really
>>
>>127601331
>>127601331
I didn't use a lot of force because I didn't REALLY want to break it, but it's not "flopping around" or separating easily, like it probably holds tune worse and could progress

Anyway, what happened is, I didn't play for 8 years, the guitar was tuned during storage, I had a retard moment and during restringing I took all the strings out at the same time and when tightening the new strings there was a crack at some point which is when I think existing cracks in the finish extended but I'm not sure how far they used to reach

In my defense I looked at a tutorial video and that guy all the strings detached at the same time because I guess it's supposed to be safe for a guitar with a healthy neck

>>
>>127601422
>I didn't use a lot of force because I didn't REALLY want to break it
Your posts made it sound like it's already gone, so what would be the loss in "breaking" it further?

If you want to reinforce it and can't pay anyone, open it as much as you can, put some wood glue in there as deep as possible and clamp it up. A clamp and glue has to be like $20 max

>>127600035

>>
>>127601627
Then you fix it yourself or get it repaired. How likely do you think that is, that the binding will come off?
>>
>>127601531
>so what would be the loss in "breaking" it further?
I mean my thinking was it might still work for a bit, nobody knows for how long. Maybe i was overdramatic?
I was at the time still researching if it's better to preserve and stabilize it in this condition or easier to glue it back on if/when it properly splits (might be hyperbole) because I saw that debate on different forums so I didn't want to make a rash decision. In any case, it's more vulnerable than it should be.

Eh, I'll keep playing gently and see if it can hold tune after the new strings should be done adjusting

Sure, I'm getting an electrician tomorrow and see what he can do. Kinda hard to get a deep, effective ground rod in this area. I have Mogami Platinum (top notch) cables, new guitar jack, different guitars (active pickups are better but still), I use plugins plugged directly intoy interface, I have TONEX pedals. Humbucker passive pickups. A DI box with ground lift. Noise gate plugins.

Nothing gets rid of the noise man :(

I just got back from a big audition, and the verdict is in: I'm out. Everything was going great, I nailed all the parts of the songs we ran through including the difficult leads. We all seemed to get along, at least on a musical level.
After a spirited jam, we took a break and smoked a cig in the alley. The bandleader said, "Hey man, you play great and we love your look, but you gotta ditch the earrings."
I pushed him in the chest. "If that's the case, I'm afraid I can't join, because these earrings mean a lot to me. My grandfather is a cherokee. He's a very wise man, and before he died he gave these to me. He pierced my ears on his deathbed himself."
the bandleader listened along, nodding his head with understanding. He said, "Hey, I'm sorry bro. I didn't know that." and I forgave him.

What’s the deal with earrings?
You poke a hole in your ear, hang a little piece of metal from it
suddenly, you’re fashionable!
And people act like size doesn’t matter.
“Oh, these are subtle.”
Yeah until they’re the size of a hula hoop!
That’s not jewelry, that’s a satellite dish!
And why do they always come in pairs?
What if I just want one?
Then you’re “making a statement.”
What’s the statement?
“I lost the other one in the shower.”

Whoooa, whoa, whoa! You pushed him in the chest?! You don’t push the bandleader, buddy, no… no, no, no, no! That’s how you end up out on the curb with your amp still buzzing!
But earrings… earrings! They’re a statement! They’re a lifestyle! You don’t just take ‘em out because some bass player in cargo shorts doesn’t like ‘em. No, no, no… you stand your ground! Those earrings, they’re part of your essence!
Your grandfather pierced your ears on his deathbed? That’s drama! That’s rock ‘n’ roll! That’s better than anything you’re playing onstage! You don’t ditch earrings like that, you build the whole act around ‘em! Call the band Cherokee Tears! …you’ll be a legend, Rikki, a legend!”

Nuno was poor as fuck and couldn't even afford a decent guitar, he found a lefty neck and an unfinished body in a parts bin and built his own.

when washburn approached him about an endorsement deal he didn't want to play any of the guitars they sold so they made him a copy of the guitar he built.
