Is anyone familiar with the new Gibson Les Pauls, specifically the ones with the PCB and cts pots

Coil tap sounds muddy, apparently I can just remove a cap for each pickup and bridge it with a wire. This will send half the pickup to ground, so sounds more like a coil split.

It's a tele bridge pickup route. You buy a Tele you need to put a Tele bridge pickup in it. If you want HH buy a Tele deluxe.
>>
>>127678384
Yeah, that's what I thought. I don't care to put a hum in a Tele myself, but I am surprised that the routing for HB is just for the neck. A nice hot Tele bridge is just as ballsy as a humbucker in my opinion.

Someone mentioned LP Blue with tort in the last thread and then also how ass the Player II offsets are. It got me thinking, as much as I want a new run of Fender Toronados, they would have to be better specked than the player twos, I want coil splits, high quality electronics, and rosewood nigga. The gap between those player 2 guitars and the Paranormal series is not wide enough to warrant nearly twice the price tag.

Nah. I'm so fucking tired of 4 in 5 guitar players being metal guys. There are some good metal acts. You aren't one of them, neither are the next 1,000 shitty metal bands that sound exactly like each other. You all are a scourge (that's pejorative, not a band name) and I hate you for making the guitar companies all think they have to try to market to you just because you're the majority. Fender put ceramic pickups in the new standard series in order to be more "modern," a.k.a. higher gain. It's disgusting.

I went back and did some refinements, added the intro arpeggiated clean parts back into the verse and mastered the levels a bit. Still only a rough draft. Debating on whether or not I should extend the verse to 4 bars instead of 3 before the prechorus. The chorus actually changes keys but I haven't figured out how I want to voice it yet. I'm pretty happy with the fact that I could just copy and paste the intro to put it under the distorted verse though. Means my timing is correct. I'll probably completely redo the intro solo and maybe kick it in a bar later.

They seem to not realize the Toronado is an offset. Seems like a large oversight for suck obvious offset fetishists. That Paranormal Toronado is actually pretty solid, could have sworn I’d changed the strings on it but when I pulled them off recently it looks like the originals were still on it with the color coded wheels. I threw some 11-48s on it, cleaned the fretboard and intonated and it feels better than ever. Still want a new one and MIJ would be a perfect outcome and increase my odds of getting one with a matching headstock, ideally in Fiesta red..

Sorry, meant american vintage ii. And probably never. Jazzmaster is the current trendy guitar. Jaguar still somewhat slept on by the masses. Real ones use jags and stangs and other obscure offsets.

I’ve got a bit of a hard on for a Mod shop white jag with white pickguard and maple board with either white dot inlays or white block inlays, but the Mod shop guitars are such a rip off. Especially the Jag. I know Jags and JMs are supposed to have rosewood boards but the maple boards on the 70s models are really cool looking imo, but I hate the black block inlays they use on maple. I’d be really tempted to build one of those Mod shops like that if the Jags had an actual rhythm circuit and the three slider switch controls. It sucks how down Jags always are.

>>
>>127683595
The only reason to do a mod shop is if you want HBs. No point in needing more complicated wiring to get in the way. Hums already can do a chill rhythm circuit anyways.
>>

>Janglier
Just a memeword for bright.

Thinking about trading in my CIJ Mustang towards a Char signature Mustang, basically a Mustang with a Strat vibrato and knobs and a three way. Rather than having two Mustangs that are the same I can have one traditional and one more goofy.
>>
>>127683625
Ah shit. My bad. I had to double check. Seems like they don't even do a hum config.
>>
>>127683625
you don't even have to do that. any bubba can rape a fender and it will all be covered up by the pickguard
>>
>>127683659
Yeah, but in addition to the other config options, it could be a good option.
But they don't even seem to offer humbuckers anyways. I was wrong. Funny. Not even for the JM either.
I've seen some footage of the Mod Shop build process. They do it all simultaneously on the same line as all of the other daily work. There must not be any system for premade routes and parts to make that happen like they can for Strats and Teles. Those one-off production Jags with hums (like the Cobain model) probably got special hours and they're not going to slot mod shop stuff within that.
>>
>>127683652
Not for the Jags but the Mod Shop is your only way to get a new American made HH Strat without going custom shop. That is the single thing the Mod Shop has going for it and that’s such a niche thing.
>>
>>127683741
yeah it is probably just a lego assembly of mismatched things that already exist.
>>
brap
>>
>>127683742
Yeah, I knew they did it for Strats and Teles, so I assumed they did it for others.
But you're right. I guess that is the only to get HH now. I don't even remember the last American made HH Strats. I remember the Mexican "Blacktop" models.

I think my dad's about to finally splurge on a marshall cab which means he's about to get rid of his old randall and I'm gunning for it. Closed back so I don't know what speakers are in it but I'm assuming with 4x12 piping into it from my katana might sound.... decent? There's also a Randall head and I vaguely recall dimebag liking the SS randall sounds but I already have some blues/rock profiles I prefer using.
In the end: Should I rip out whatever speakers it came with and throw in some celestions or just roll with the vibe?

I got the butterscotch classic vibe telecaster in. Spent today setting it up and playing around with it. (It did not come with a free setup like it was claimed). Intonation with the stock saddles isn't too bad, I'll probably still get compensated saddles. I didn't know which ones to get though. I'm kind of worried if I get the Gotoh ones, I might have to shim the neck because I've read of other people having to. Might just get the Wilkinsons.

Yeah I never really consciously thought about this because I’m not interested in esp guitars anymore at this stage in my life but that is tacky. I think I’ve noticed it and thought wtf before. Idk maybe I’ll buy a snakebyte or eclipse one of these days for all the emg stuff I want to cover.
