Into Glory Ride is their best album
>>127681247Agreed, narrowly beats out Battle Hymns for me and it doesn't have any of the pointless instrumental shit from the following two albums
>>127681255Yeah the first two were pretty straighforward
>>127681285I think out of the two (since I think they're near identical in quality) ItG is the superior one, but only slightly. I tell ya' the difference between that album and HtE (still a good record mind you) is pretty steep
>>127681331The quality dropped after the first two albums but I still like Sign of the Hammer except for the instrumental wankery. Maybe two albums a year was too much for them to handle.
>>127681654>The quality dropped after the first two albums but I still like Sign of the Hammer I do too but the wankery prevents me from calling that album fantastic, because Thunderpick is like fuckin 4 minutes long and is not fun to listen to for a single goddamned second >Maybe two albums a year was too much for them to handle.Judging how the next one came out a few years afterwards (wasn't fighting the world '86?) that's probably the culprit, yeah
>>127681677I can't believe they put Thunderpick on that album. I mean Joey is a good bass player and all but that track is just stupid.Into Glory Ride beats Battle Hymns if not by musical feats then simply because of the corniest unironic album cover. It's great though.
>>127681920>Into Glory Ride beats Battle Hymns if not by musical feats then simply because of the corniest unironic album cover. You say corny, I say badass lol
>MANOWARFUKKKING BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASED!!! kavult fuKKKing WIMPZ CAN'T! into MANOWAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGH
Don't Close Your Eyes is a fucking rancid ballad and Rock Me is generic glam but the rest of the album is incredible and a sizable step up in quality from Children of the Flame. Though because of those two songs (seriously I wanted to drill my ears in during that goddamned ballad, I FUCKING HATE the vocals on that track), I can't call this album better than that one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beTsxHArDXEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-ZsSi0JEdIhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuHiXI_D2Q4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrD--RzRS6M

>>127683134LEAVE THE HALL!!!!!!>>127683250damn this is some good shit! gonna snatch that album up and give it a shot
>>127681206The '84 chart is finished?
>>127683371Posted it last thread. Nobody was voting on albums and I got sick of waiting so I filled out the rest myself with the suggestions + my own choices.
>>127681206Exciter - Long Live the Loud!
>>127683445Great choice, I'll wait 'til close to the end of the thread to start adding albums to it so I can better gauge what albums people want and people don't
>>127683433>Tokyo Bladebasedpretty cool seeing Shok Paris on there tooseems like the only missed opportunity was Sortilège - Métamorphose but maybe that's too niche because non-English
>>127683500>pretty cool seeing Shok Paris on there tooI listened to that album while I was finishing up the chart and just KNEW it had to be on there, what a phenomenal record that was>seems like the only missed opportunity was Sortilège - Métamorphose but maybe that's too niche because non-EnglishHeard of it but never listened to that album and nobody recommended it. Sorry man
>>127681185lol that drummer was so not into any of that posturing
>>127684178He's the only one on the album cover that actually looks genuinely cool, like a grizzled warrior about to recount tales of his glory days to you
>>127681206Are EPs allowed because this one kicks asshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4528HFhxAn0&list=RD4528HFhxAn0&start_radio=1&ab_channel=Glacier
>>127685098Of course they are! I chose Queensryche's debut EP for a past thread =)(Also excellent reminder to listen to that EP, I've heard of it before but never sat down and checked it out)
>>127681206Hopefully someone else can agree with me that Rough Cutt deserves a spothttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TnsLtobkE4&list=RD8TnsLtobkE4&start_radio=1&ab_channel=80sRockFreAk
>starts off with its weakest song>the weakest song is the title track>B side is better than the A sideOne of the only albums I've ever gotten that trifecta with. This is a very solid album that's reminiscent of early '80s JP if they had more of a USPM slant to their sound, were a tad heavier, and had (for the most part, there are some outliers like the title track and Star Pilot here) Christian lyrics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4Kt4t6dMZohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0ppqdFpxzkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ApHsks82WMhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1Gn1XJfUTU (Was not expecting to hear power/thrash on this album lol)
Completely unremarkable in every way. The first song is really rough, but the rest is passable enough metallic rock that sounds pretty out of date even for 1982.
>>127681206Nice to see Agent Steel get love. They are one of my favorite speed metal bands.
>>127685816Skeptics Apocalypse is one of (if not) the best speed metal album, and Unstoppable Force is one of (if not) the best speed/thrash album
On Saturday i went to go see Enforcer. I picked up a cd and shirt. They put on a really good show, i highly recommend seeing them live.
>>127685867Badass shirt, though I don't think they play in new england
>>127685877Thank you! I hope they play near you.
>>127685951Just looked into their tour dates for the rest of the year, and as I expected the closest one is on the 25th out in NYC (Brooklyn at that) so that's dead in the water. Hope they play somewhere closer next year :P

>>127686712I've listened to a few of these (though I haven't listened to that Loudness album in a while, don't remember much of it)>Blitzkreig - A Time of ChangesI'm pretty confident in this one since I've both listened to and enjoyed it immensely, but we'll see the others ITT feel about that record.

Checked this out again on a whim and it starts off guns blazing, but immediately after the third song the album takes a sharp dip in quality and does not resurface for the remainder of its runtime. Sick album art, though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HjsM5aCw0Ihttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S70YiurhPHc

>>127682431Posing with medieval weaponry is corny but still badass nonetheless.Manowar paved the way for the likes of Varg and his memetic larp photoshoots.

>>127685542Moxy rip off
>>127691392Is it really? Because I listened to a few songs off of their debut and there really weren't any similarities between those tunes and that Saint EP. Wasn't even metal outside of 1-2 songs on the B side, either.
This song's pretty freakin' cool, though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMj9YdMlRlo

>>127693141for what? O_o
>>127681206Max Plänck - Kill The PainVortex - Metal Bats
>>127693175I've never heard of either of these bands but that Vortex EP sounds pretty sick
>>127693155Brazil was range banned some weeks ago, I was testing to see if it was lifted
>>127693199They're both fucking excellent and I highly recommend both bands. Check out the other Vortex releases too.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHZWKIHKzQ0
>>127693225This song's pretty average, decent mid-tempo stuff with not a lot really going for it. But this is a reunion album so I'll still give their classic output a chance when I get to it =)
Stop linking this on /metal/ or I will sic the Serbian onto you guys this weekend
>>127693285I wish whoever keeps linking it would stop already, it's pretty annoying desu
>>127693267Yeah Metal Bats and Open The Gate are their best. I agree that their later output is nothing spectacular, that song being the one I like most from that album, but it's all decent stuff.
>>127693830Downloaded 'em, not listening to any albums at the moment but I'll probably check out the EP later tonight
>>127683433shit I missed out on rec'ing Flight Of The Griffin for this chart
>>127693930Rip. You have quite a while to suggest stuff for the '85 one though

>>127697549Sleep well, I enjoy these threads.
>>127681206Should noble savage by virgin Steele be mentioned?Or is it too weak?
>>127681920>>127682431>>127690642The 40th anniversary remix has different album art
>>127683189What did you think of the new bonus tracks on the reissues?https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noble_Savage_(album)The two that stuck with me the most were “love and death”. And “God of violence kill”. The last one was definitely recorded more recently as his voice different, and the singing has a really strange style at parts
>>127697556thank you!>>127697574if multiple people suggest it, sure. but if it’s just one suggestion I probably won’t add it since I think it’s a fairly flawed album >>127697617i didn’t listen to them and I don’t have the time to at the moment, but i will when i get back tomorrow
Tommyknockers isn't so bad, I don't get the hate
>>127681185lol
>>127699345The problem with this album is that it has three Elder God Tier songs (Traveler in Time, Lost in the Twilight Hall and The Last Candle), so it makes the songs that are merely Good Tier seem like filler.
>>127681206I suggest anything on my '85 chart.

>>127703916I don't look like this, but I do say this.
There's some good songs here, but for some reason I just didn't really care for this one that much. Only thing really of note are the vocals, which sound like a screechy and higher-pitched Guy Speranza.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZT0aq_Qrwj8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_FeJ4X7PkYhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDyX8ljTghU
