Once again first reply, I just broke this thread's hymen. Anyone else who posts after me is getting my sloppy seconds, my leftovers.

Just remember that the first reply is the most special reply and you'll never experience this thread the way I did and this thread will never feel the way it felt about me about you.

It's Over , you might as well just go post on Reddit and talk about how much of a "man" you are for replying on a thread that I pump and dumped. Have fun with my scraps, cucks

Finally got the long neck banjo strings. I'm going to take it to a shop around the corner from me. 35 dollars for the string change. Hopefully they can do it. If not I'll just have them put all the normal strings on. Anyone suggestions on what banjo strings to use? The guy I'm trying to copy says he uses different strings but he always uses the long neck banjo. Since I might want a higher tone, I'm guessing it's best to use the thinner strings?
>>
>three electrics down
>two acoustics up
>probably gonna let a friend borrow one of my acoustics for a while
>still have too many guitars
It’s a never ending dilemma if I need to thin the herd but it’s hard getting rid of guitars I don’t actually have any issues with and that I like
>>
>>128156026
idk typically companies tell you to go up in size for higher tuning to keep strings from breaking under tension if it’s just a step or two but then again the highest pitched strings are always the smallest
>>
>>128155740

no actually
this is latinamerican folk. musicians here in argentina do know about this. we have this thing where it's both 3/4 and 6/8 at the same time
this is "zamba" but there are more folk styles which share this characterist. idk i cant tell much because im not much into my region's folk
drummers might think twice when facing latinamerican folk
>>
>>128156389

I made a shitty pedal out of some stuff I had lying around. Probably gonna find a better way later to secure the board to the carpet. Was gonna use furniture feet, but I didn't feel like buying anything to make this desu. It seems like it'll work okay. I left the top holes unzipped because if I want to tilt it, I can just tuck something underneath. Getting a valeton gp5 in the mail and a midi foot switch. I want to start pedal hunting for some weird, budget shit. I just got the gp5 cause it'll be easy to travel with it for practice.

Can I just pick out some chords from the chord wheel, then merely arpeggiate through barre versions of those chords, and get sweet riffs? That's what the guitar singer guy man said he did for message in a bottle.
>>
>>128159692
No that's not allowed. You have to follow the rules.
>>
>>128157291
Better. You can unironically get a firefly guitar that has steel frets, locking turners, bone nut and decent pickups for under $300. You're gonna have to get a set up though, and maybe a fret leveling. Sometimes you get lucky and don't have to worry about the fret leveling.

>>
>>128159872
Yeah but isn’t firefly china? Get an indo plank at least
>>
>>128159928
The quality of an Indonesian produced guitar and Chinese guitar isn't that different. In fact, the Chinese 50's cool vibe telecaster was better when it was made in china, except for a run that has really weak nickel frets. The Indonesian cool vibe have inferior pickups, but they are closer to sounding to vintage pickups. The neck pickup on the Chinese model is actually brighter than most neck pickups on a tele.

Everything injects shit into the registry. Windows is just like that. It's unstoppable. Thinking about it too much is the way of madness.
Even if you uninstall, it never gets rid of a dozen entries. And even then, some entries can never be removed. Like it keeps a record of every little thing that's been written on the disk. Even if all traces of the program is gone, it says "This fucker was here on this date and you can never go back".

Whoa whoa, that was Don Randall, the marketing guy. Looks like you need to go back to knowledge college. I recommend Keith's video on the short history of Fender Jazzmasters over on the 5-Watt World YouTube channel for a quick refresher.
>>
>>128161034
What I heard is Leo specifically disliked the look of worn down maple. That he didn't foresee that.
If it was Randall, so be it. He's still important and Leo could've stopped him if he disagreed.
I like a nice new maple, so I don't hate it totally. I just want to avoid it on nitro guitars.

The companies that outsource there can have more oversight and direct involvement. PRS went all in and owns the entire facility where they build SEs in Indonesia and sent their own dudes to first train those people. Same with Marshall in Vietnam.. they own their own setup there too (unfortunately, they've since been bought out by a Chinese investment firm, so it may well go to China eventually). Even better for places like Mexico, where Fender can travel quickly to it and monitor things.
The other bad thing about China is commies are just like gypsies. They habitually steal and start cloning. Even if it just one of you guys that had some cool invention or tweak on a design and used China to get your little doodad to be manufactured, you'd eventually see it get cloned within a couple years and then you're dreams are screwed. The people who run those factories making your stuff just send your designs to another next door factory and start cranking out clones..then flood them back into the very market you were selling in and undercutting you. But I digress. This happens for more shit than anything music related. But they're the shittiest kind of people you'd want to enable.
>>
>>128161305

I own BIAS FX2 and I wouldn't recommend getting anything by PositiveGrid due to their behaviour of abandoning their previous software in a broken state.
I also hate Amplitube for the reasons above. I don't like the NeuralDSP stuff, because it's rather limited and it's not all under 1 "roof". Currently, my favourite one is THU by Overloud. I'm waiting for a potential sale, because 200€ is ridiculous for that. Until then, I'm gonna keep playing with my random plug-in effects, Neural Amp Modeler/cab IR collection.

gibson guitars get ruined by the time they go from the factory to the store/buyer due to the finish reacting to being in a case. the pickups haze over and become cloudy (this can't be fully cleaned by polishing) the plastics off gas and discolor the finish and metal hardware and frets.

i you are lucky and get the guitar before these reactions happen then put it on a stand, the finish reacts to the stand and discolors and gets ruined

This. Price mostly. There are some very, very slight differences in “toanwood” sounds on electric but they’re so minuscule that you’d have an easier time hearing differences between two different examples of the exact same pickup. Poplar is cheap, basswood is cheap and more abundant overseas in SE Asia, alder was the cheaper alternative to swamp ash for Fender, Gibson has used mahogany forever at this point just because that’s what Gibson does but during the Norlin era there were some alder guitars made because (get this, you won’t believe it) alder is cheaper than mahogany. On acoustics there is more of a difference.

I think it's Leo's first attempt at something like the rhythm circuit on offsets. Something he thought maybe jazz guys could use. I don't know. But I've never had an Esquire around enough to know if it's truly useless or not. I think the rhythm circuit on JMs isn't useless. It gets a little too much hate itself. The only real use I can see for myself with position 3 is with a fuzz pedal maybe. When I had a Jazzmaster the most use I got out of the rhythm circuit was as a preset for cool fuzz tones. On a Tele the middle position is my favorite and the neck and middle on their own I like equally, but for an Esquire I think having it stripped down to just a very, very usable bridge pickup would be fun

on acoustics you want the strongest, lightest wood you can get, but is also easy to work and isn’t a pain in the ass to finish. spruce, cedar, rosewood, and mahogany have been used for a long time for these reasons. other hardwoods have been used for back and sides and they sound good but are either expensive and rare or hard to bend. it’s kind of like trying to blend a 3 color palette by just adjusting sliders that arbitrarily affect eachother because thicker bracing adds bass but the top not being able to vibrate as much (like a subwoofer) also effecting lowers the volume of the bass and guitar overall. interestingly, Leo chose the woods he did because they were cheaper and easier to get

For autcoustics... is it true that a solid top beats anything else? I have a cheapo ovation with a laminate maple top that is one of the sweetest, most balanced guitars I've played under 1200$

also I should say you don’t really hear much difference in individual notes, when comparing acoustics you should look for volume, the quality of the overtones, and the duration of sustain coming out of the resonant chamber. cheaper guitars have a warbling effect to their sustain that I really do not like, and good acoustics will create loud overtones even when playing single notes up the neck on the E string where the guitar is fundamentally weak. some people also consider headroom and how easy it is to drive the guitar, which is where a stiffer top like Adirondack comes in. that’s the real difference, hope it helps
>>
>>128163897
>Too many fender trannies nignore this
Ignore what? That Leo was cheap and used the cheapest available wood? That’s literally knowledge so common that it’s a running joke among Fender nerds and a common insult from Gibson fanboys. Leo’s entire design of the first mass produced solid body electric was to be able to produce it as cheaply as possible, yeah that includes cheap wood. Original prototypes were even cheaper pine. How is it ignored?
>>
>>128163925
That's what I thought, I went in to buy a big baby taylor, ended up playing every guitar in the room 4-900 dollars with my fren and the CC24 sounded the best, but this was in 2012.
I did play a new seagull '82 S6 reissue a couple months ago and imo it sounds sweeter (actually has solid top/back out of locally grown canadian cherry) but I already have an S6 so I skipped it. Also the neck is thick as FUCK. The CC24 has an electric neck thinner than both my LP and SG.

>Jerry Garcia pushed Phil Lesh down a flight of stairs backstage at the Carousel Ballroom during a Grateful Dead concert in March 1968.
The incident occurred after one of the band's performances, when Garcia became upset with Lesh's playing, which Lesh later attributed to being deeply affected by the recent death of friend Neal Cassady.
Lesh recalled that as he tried to leave the venue unnoticed, Garcia grabbed him by the collar, snarled "You play, motherfucker!" and shoved him, causing Lesh to fall down the stairs and land on his ass.
Garcia, known for his typically gentle demeanor, was reportedly shocked by his own actions, and Lesh stated he was stunned by the physical confrontation.
Garcia later apologized when the band reconvened the following evening.

The Pocket Master has much more functionality/utility, but it has a plastic shell and battery that will go bad sooner or later (it shouldn't be too hard to replace or remove it though).
The Pocket Master has a single universal stereo unbalanced/balanced/headphones out. The Sonic IR has 2 mono outs, unbalanced jack and balanced XLR.
The Pocket Master supports NAM profiles, however you can't use NAM and IR at the same time, so you're limited to full rig/combo NAM captures.

The Valeton GP-5 is more or less a pedal version of the Pocket Master. Better in some aspects, worse in some others.
There are also the Mooer Radar and Cab X2.

I 100% agree, some of my best tone was done through an XTC, an SD-1, and Reverb + Delay. And I've played many amps, including a 5150III, JCM 800 hotrodded, Soldano, Mesa Mark V, Deisel...

>>128169193
I haven't played on an Egnater yet, but yeah, the Shiva is basically a hot rodded Marshall with a BIG bottom end. At least that's how my experience was.
I use a Kemper so profiles can vary from all sorts of variables.

I just love the guitar tone on the one I posted. It’s loud, harsh, and abrasive but over super poppy and upbeat sounding songs

I love how this wine red LP Studio model looks.
I saw one with black plastic parts in person and it looked really good too, but this one takes the cake.
If I ever start buying more guitars than I need it's on my wish list near the top.

Any of you guys ever commission a custom build from a builder? I’m thinking about a Tele from K-Line built how I like it.

So after some research, Jer Bear was also roughly 5'10 245lbs. That makes John Pertruci, Ronny Coleman, Mike Tyson, and now Jerry Garcia? What's going on here?

check the jp auction sites. they usually have the 90s models with ebony boards and gold hardware.
My next purchase will be either a white 90s studio or a black 2011 special with humbuckers

My 2013 SG special and LP studio both came in pic related.
I got 2k as a gift and instead of just getting a standard i bought 2 guitars and a used marshall JCM 800 combo

>>128169553
white studios had ebony fretboards until the early 2010's. other colors switched to rosewood in the mid 90s.

musical form for this?? my cousin's homework
fuck rap, I KNOW rap is complicated
I think
Intro, A x 6, B B, A x 5, etc
the problems are the As
rap is very hard, they repeat the same verse, it has no melody, no signs
ALTERNATIVELY
it could be
intro
A
B
B
A
B
B
C
etc

as in, the six verses, they're all A. all in one package
.FIRST I THOUGHT
A
B
A
B
A
B
C...
because I felt some uhh how do you day it in english... whatever, but no, verses are confusing, v

Take it back, that song slaps fr. One thing I disagree with Jerry on. There is a video of him saying rap isn't music. I strongly disagree. Matter of fact, here's the Lizard Kin/gg/ predicting it.

I knew edwards were nice LPs and I've seen boomers on LP forums jacking off about them, it's so weird my geetar that I thought was an epi equivalent is in LP studio territory in terms of used pricing- I thought it felt/looked kinda cheap minus the SH1/4 pickups

almost all the edwards after like 2009 are MiC though, what's the point? It's supposed to be a "You want an epi but you wanted something slightly better for the money".
Bigger issue is that Epi unfucked their shit and the new probucker PAF clones sound AMAZING so there's no real point to getting a sweaty used nuke-bait rice negro guitar at this point. (I would've gotten a new epi custom with p90s but I didn't know epi stopped sucking until like July).
