>>128264674I know he’s asking about them I’m just not sure wtf he’s asking. They’re Strats with Seymour Duncan or fishman fluence pickups and a Floyd rose. The necks are graphite reinforced unfinished or roasted maple and they’re thin with a pretty flat compound radius. If those are the specs you’re looking for in a guitar then they’re excellent. I have not had any build quality or otherwise complaints with the 3 I’ve owned. My main gripe is that most of the colors suck and they need to be more creative with exotic woods like Ibanez and schecter. I want to see more natural and burst finish guitars from them and less cheesy hair metal colors.

Imagine a Super Reverb in the studio or one/sometimes two Twin Reverbs live and those amps totally dimed out on volume and treble. That is LOUD and that was Bloomfield’s standard.

>>128267568who cares, it's all the same old moldy les pauls that have been cloned a million times
>>128265094Don’t get a bundle, the amp will suck. Like other anons suggested find a used Yamaha thr, boss katana, or line 6 catalyst in the sub 200 dollar range near you. You’ll get actual usable tones and see way more mileage from one of those vs barely loud enough horrible clean and janky distortion on the cheap ones they bundle. A boss katana 50w will serve you well as a practice amp no matter how advanced you become. I’ve been playing for 30 years and I would still use one of those if I needed to practice with volume in the room. But mostly I just plug into an amp sim or run a modeler with headphones. Get something with an aux in and headphone out for sure because nobody wants to hear someone practice the same riff 200 times in a row, and it’ll help you hear the mix of the song you’re playing along to. Also, you’ll want something that you can plug a foot switch into so you can go from clean to distorted sounds when you’re playing songs. All the amps I listed have foot switches available and have the ability to be plugged into a computer to edit and save patches. They have communities with people who share free patches based on popular songs and tones that you can load in. Try to find one that is for sale with a foot switch because those can cost upwards of 200 dollars. Alternatively you could look at a line 6 pod GO for around 300 and that would do everything you need with headphones. If you wanted volume in the room later on you could plug it into a katana or catalyst.
>>128265498Wait should I buy that ce24 in puke trampas green instead of the inspired by Les Paul now? I didn’t know PRS were going under.
>>128268216You should rethink spending $1200 on an epiphone when sweetwater has standards for under $2k, yes.
>>128265051The reason they have that reputation is because:Graphite reinforced unfinished maple neck (no sticky poly bs you find on imports)USA pickups and electronics Floyd rose 1000 or better Gotoh tuners Other than the poly finish on the guitars, which you can also get in a matte or natural if you’re that opposed to the feel of, there’s not much else a USA model can improve upon aside from a German Floyd rose (which supposedly uses the same exact manufacturing methods and metals except it’s made in Germany vs South Korea.) They all have the same logo, same headstock, same woods, same pickups, etc. In many ways, the pro mod plus charvels have better specs than the USA models and cost 500 dollars less.
>>128268265Ok but a standard isn’t going to have a 500 dollar set of custombuckers in it. There’s a white standard near me on marketplace he’s asking 1600 for that has JB/59’s and also comes with the original pickups.
>>128268292The cool thing about this one is I could have my luthier swap the original pickups in for 50 bucks and then save the JB/59 for when I get my next charvel. But, at 1600 it’s probably going to sell before I can save the extra 400 dollars I need.
>>128268338>But, at 1600 it’s probably going to sell before I can save the extra 400 dollars I need.Offer him $1200 and see what happens. I was looking at a V220 recently that was listed for 1600, that I never haggled with the seller on He eventually ended up dropping the price to 1k and it sold immediately. You never know, the seller might need the money more than he needs to get the most value out of his guitar. It was fucking beautiful, flame maple body w/ natural finish. I've lost sleep over that guitar.
>>128268511I offered him 1200 plus a new M&P 9 2.0 I was saving for my owb kit but I don’t really need. Will see what he says.
>>128268511The ad does say firm on price and it’s a fair price so I don’t expect him to budge on it. But then again white is one of the least desirable lp colors and people don’t want aftermarket pups.
>>128268530>>128268552It's a more than fair price for sure. The 2.0's are fantastic so maybe he'll bite. With recent glock news I've considered picking one up instead of another g47, maybe he feels the same. I do really want another 47 though. Shit this makes me want to message that guy with the black lp studio near me. The lp bug is real.
>>128268586Yeah I almost bought a 47 COA but I kept hearing about issues with the COA. This is my first M&P. Problem is it’s really hard to find holsters that fit and the one I have for IWB is too uncomfortable to carry. The optic height sights dig into my pelvis. If I trade it I’ll probably just buy a 47 COA. If I end up getting this LP I’ll probably put a black pick guard and black lp custom knobs on it.
>>128268637Honestly that's one reason I came back to glocks. There are parts and accessories available everywhere and I'm a good enough shooter to be fine with a stock one, but not good enough to be so picky about tiny details that would make me want to shave .05s off of my split times and push me towards a different platform. Black guards on white pauls do look rad, though I'm a fan of no guard at all personally. If you DO end up with the white standard, I'll snatch the black studio for the contrast.
>>128268683Yeah for sure. I love Glocks and shoot them really well. I just got such a killer deal on the M&P (450 otd at fleet farm.) but finding holsters for this model which is kind of a 2.5 and has extended slide stops and safety lever is annoying. So if j can get rid of it for what I paid and get back into a Glock I think it’ll be better.

>>128268683I like the way studios look and sound btw but they’re too thin for my liking. I played a few of them and they didn’t feel right.
>>128263847I don’t think I have ever encountered that shape in an actual song though. Typically they move the note from the high e string to the low e string for that chord. It sucks that all these chord books and things teach you chords that are theoretically correct but not the ones that actually get used.
>>128268823I had completely forgotten about that actually. Maybe I'll just stick with explorers when the time comes to get another gibson.

Yeah the store manager of that guitar center is sending out it multiple emails to the head guys because this dude not only ordered the wrong guitar but then canceled the order without asking me told me it was my fault cause I rushed him and asked and then canceled the order instead of asking if I wanted to keep it as store credit. Then he transferred me to a store when I asked for a supervisor. I’m hoping they pull some kind of miracle deal and get me into an LP standard for all the BS I’ve had to deal with. It wasn’t even close to the same guitar I wanted either. It had a trem on it and was a different color.
>>128269705Kek I’m mobile posting I promise I’m not retarded. Didn’t delete the entire sentence I reworded.
>>128269663Mine blew me off for a while when I asked about a specific guitar I wanted in a specific color. In the interim I ended up spending quite a bit on a different guitar and a used amp elsewhere. He is back to calling me but I have him marked as spam now. Should have taken my original inquiry seriously.
>>128269750The problem is they work on commission and don’t seem to understand that some people don’t immediately pull the trigger on gear. So they get butthurt about it and lose the eventual sale by being unresponsive or having a bad attitude. A 2 minute phone call might “waste” their time today but it could end up being a 5000 dollar sale a month or two later and a customer for life. Guitar center lost me as a customer with all their recent bullshit. Sweetwater at least posts actual photos and weights of the specific guitar you’re buying and makes a blind internet order much less risky. With GC it’s a complete gamble on what the finish / weight will be.
>>128269818I literally just got off the phone with my Sweet ™ Water Guy ™. he’s processing my return, got rid of restocking and shipping fees, knocking a new vintage II p bass down to open box price and getting me the plek pro set up at half price. a lot better than I ever would have got at GC but I’ve spent a lot of money at sweetwater over the years and never returned or refunded anything.
>>128269705a few years back i had something similar happen to me bought a guitar used from their website, got a completely different guitar, went to return it at my local GC and it was a nightmare i still go there sometimes to pick through the used crap but im Sweetwater all the way now im sorry it happened to you too>>128269857a-greed Sweetwater is way better for just about anything

Been isolating intermittent signals, trying to detect any pattern. Will cross reference it with random static. Been time stretching the resulting recordings and analyzing the digital artifacts for encoded synchronicities. No results so far. Tinnitus seems to have disappeared over the last couple weeks. Could be placebo or other unconnected variables.... Skin also isn't breaking out in hives. I think they modulated the phase on the microwave beam nodes. But it's hard to be sure. All I know is I don't hear as much hiss through my rat pedal when I have the reflexive phase cancelator engaged. It seems if I have it cycle through the wavelength chart every second there is enough cancelation even if they are manually altering the target frequencies... Hoping for some low radio activity when I'm recording some electric guitar after dark tonight.

>>128269892Well, it sucks cause now I have to wait another 3-5 days for my money plus another 3-5 days for it to ship. The guy said he will try to find me something in my budget and ship it to the gc in my state so I can pick it up right when the funds are released. Hopefully I made a big enough stink about it that they hook me up big time. I told him I want a 60s LP standard in either ebony or tobacco burst. If they can hook one of those up for 12-1500 I’ll be happy. I don’t really want one that is pre 2020 or with probuckers though, I know those were bad years for gibson.

>shreds with 21 frets and a hard tail in your path
>>128270088a little bit of 2 part epoxy. shape and sand
>>128270541Randy mostly used hard tails as well. Same with zakk. You can do a lot of cool stuff with a hard tail if you explore alternative techniques. Bending the neck is a good one but also pre bends. If you do it right you can make it sound nearly identical.
>>128270541>>128270663ive come to find that trems are mostly crutches basically the only thing a trem can do that you cant do on a hardtail is meme shit like squealies/divebombs, and reverse bends (where you bend up on the fretboard and then use the trem to bend back to regular pitch, and then stop bending on the string and then bring the trem back to normal - a vai thing)
>>128270495Yeah glass half full. I got my tuner from GC since I had left over money from my gift card. Still have about 140 left to spend from that
>>128270710They’re mostly good for ultra smooth gilmour or Jeff beck style vibrato and evh staccato quick 1-2 step dives where you’re punching in and out real fast. Divebombs etc are probably the only thing you can’t do without one. Even when I have one I rarely use it and when I do it’s mostly for smooth vibrato while I’m soloing.
Just a reminder that the Soul Food is the same circuit as the Klon Centaur, but with 120% give to each knob. It's cheap, too.
>>128270721you should get a shitton of strings with the rest of it so you don’t have to worry about them for a long time>>128270743right? i realized i dont need one when one time i was playing at a house party and a normgroid asked if the metal doohickey sticking off my guitar was just for show
>>128270088Go on Aliexpress and buy a replacement strap for like $2-5. Wait a month for shipping. They also sell plastic bits whatever that thing is called...But look for guitar strap pieces or belt pieces. Just match your measurements. Honestly, it's easier to buy a cheapass replacement from them and sub in the parts to fix your old one. Then you have a backup for future.Or you could do a bent metal coat-hanger that you spot weld and then cover in liquid vinyl.
What’s the best Les Paul strap? I have the little rubber fender strap lock discs. Just wondering what straps distribute the weight the best and are most comfortable. I’ve got a wide leather one that came with my custom shop epiphone and it’s alright. Maybe one that is more narrow and has padding.
>>128270757I dont change my strings enough to do something like that. I'm going to save it for a 2nd bass during the holiday season. I'm going to a festival next year that has a space for musicians to jam, so I think I'll want a travel bass. My pedalboard is pretty much completed now so I dont need anything else there.

>>128270757>The rod-and-ring symbol is a symbol that is depicted on Mesopotamian stelas, cylinder seals, and reliefs. It is held by a god or goddess and in most cases is being offered to a king who is standing, often making a sacrifice, or otherwise showing respect. The symbol dates from the Third Dynasty of Ur to the Neo-Assyrian period, and is commonly explained as a coil of measuring string and a yardstick. Other theories are that they are a shepherd's crook and a nose rope,or that the ring is no rope at all. The best known example of the symbol is seen on the Code of Hammurabi stela.

I want to get my first guitar, the problem is that I can't decide if I should go for a HSS or SSS strat. I'm not sure which genre I want to play most yet and experiment with different ones, though I know I want to play surf rock and death/black metal at the very least, so I don't know if I then should get a SSS or HSS. One is apparently better for one of them, while the other better for the other, which would I then be happier with?
>>128271975there are only 3 electric guitar tones in all of music: neck pickup with tone rolled completely off, position 4 on a strat, and a bridge humbucker with some breakup. anything else is gay and a waste of time, money, and sonic space
>>128271975Try to get a HSS with coil split.
>>128271975If you are gonna play any heavy music you should get an HSS. If you want to pay the extra money for an American fender there is a push button on knobs that switch the bridge from humbucker to single coil. Believe it's on the pro models and up
>>128271149I'm really pumped. I saw some clips of the jams they have sheet music no tabs so I've gotta do some reading practice.

>>128264896Retard. PRS does not hold value at all The market is flooded with PRS guitars for cheap that no one wants
>>128264881If you buy used and sell it to another person, not a pawn shop, you can sell the used instrument for what you paid.I bought a $300 squier Jaguar and sold it for $450 a month later. Its body had been made of three pieces of wood, and they expanded at the seems, so you felt ridges in the back.
>>128272546ngl ive been tempted, you can get a used 10 top cheaper than some les paul studios go for new
>>128272546>Retardlol what even warrants getting mad about that. You act like I want PRSes to be pricey. I don't like them. That's why I said "for some reason". I don't know what the price drops are for each given model, but they don't seem to be cheap when used. Just the SE/S2 ones are cheap.

>>128272641guitar i just ordered has those luminlay things on them. not that i ever cared.

>>128272518Based
One HSS trem and one HS hardtail covers my bases. Not sure if I should build on that with another hardtail or another trem, I like Tele's and JMs but it's hard to decide between all the models and finishes.

The cheapest McCarty (only PRS I kinda like) on Reverb is still $1800. It took me to page 17 to finally get past all the SEs and S2s and find a proper PRS. That's still relatively pricey though. I'm sure you could get a nice Les Paul Standard for less.
I'm having an great time learning some Stan Rogers and assorted Irish music. This whole guitar thing really is fun.
>>128272853absolutely based
>>128272830Fair enough. You are right though about them clogging up the used market. It's just a shitload of S2s though.
I have never played a PRS that has inspired me. They all just feel and look so sterile and soulless. They’re not bad, they’re just boring and plain. They’re like the guitar that people choose because they think it’ll make them look cooler or will impress people.
>>128272922The only player I like who plays them is Dave Navarro. But I can see why he went there. He used to play 24 fret Ibanez. I guess he wanted something classier and not as shreddy, but still 24 frets.
