Was never a big Foo Fighters fan, but watched their free Amazon concert Thursday night.> They rock> Gotta a bunch of above average guitar rock songs that they play exceptionally well live.> And they are probably the top rock institution act for Gen X (probably even more so than U2 now), like Rolling Stones were for boomers.> If you like rock music, you probably have at least some familiarity with at least a dozen of their songs, and can rock out hearing those with almost everyone of your generation and later ones who likes rock music.> Nirvana would never have been able to achieve that important societal role. They alienated most of their fans during their short run and would have alienated even more had they continued ....... until their fan base was so small, the band would no longer be financially doable.> Meanwhile, Foo Fighters, despite all their flaws, rock out nightly, with exceptional drumming and some kick-ass guitar work too.> Long story short, it was a blessing that that one fag dude from Nirvana offed himself, and created a space where Foo Fighters could get sympathetic radio play and become a rock institution that regularly displays the pleasures of guitar/bass/drum music.> Foo Fighter >>>>>>>> Nirvana

>>128307639> Dave Grohl mogs you in every way.Not my problem.
>>128307498Do you really need 4 guitar players or is foo fighters some kind of washed up musicians charity?
>>128307498>almost everyone of your generationdefinitely not zoomers
>>128309049there were a lot of zoomers in audience of amazon show.face it. foo's are a rock institution, like the stones were/are.
>>128307936does 'washed up' mean making major bank playing to sold-out stadiums?why does everyone dog probably the best phase of a musician's life that only a very small few achieve, where they still can play good and they are finally making a bit of money?everybody seems to like to romantisize the hungry and struggling phase
