I have been trying to deliberately not play my Tele but I can’t get away from it. I’ve given my Strats and my humbucker guitar some love this week for the first time in months, I’ve given my P90s and my crustang some love for the first time in weeks, but I keep putting them away in favor of a Tele. It just feels right to me and every sound I get out of it is a sound I genuinely love and can find use for. It feels weird to have a guitar that just clicks with me and that feels “mine” for the first time in many years, like the last decade of chasing guitars that don’t quite feel perfectly right for me after they arrive is finally over because this one has arrived. I’ve had a few Teles in the past and I’ve enjoyed them all but they never clicked with me like this one. I moved an LP and started bending the neck when that's the sound I wanted. Now that I move back and forth between the two guitar types, it's easy to highlight what they do differently. I never learned dive bombs and modern shredder trem stuff some bandmates could do. Locking tuners and a respectable trem system are needed for those antics.
STEP 1: Hardtail it so at least it stays in tune!
